Facility is clean and clearly labeled as to locations of gym, fitness rooms, lockers, restrooms. Staff has always been friendly, working hard and appear to enjoy their jobs. I have tried several group fitness classes, most are included in the membership and schedules are readily available at front entrance and on their web-site. For the most part I use the fitness center which has a wide variety of equipment with on-screen apps to watch Netflix and Hulu (with your own log-ins) on some machines as well as live TV and music options to help pass the time. Some of the equipment works with the Preva app to keep track of your weekly goals, which I enjoy. I chose this fitness location as an average woman who is somewhat new to fitness and wasn't looking to be watched, obviously judged or feel out of place. I can honestly say that I feel comfortable here, I would dare to say even happy to be working toward a healthier me here. There is a diverse mix of people that come and I enjoy the friendly overall atmosphere. There are so many membership perks that I haven't taken advantage of such as 2 large pools with aqua classes, open swimming and laps, cycling classes, day care options. JCC has an app available, but it is hit and miss and freezes often, so I would hold off on that until it's improved. Overall I find the JCC an Excellent overall facility.

During our time at the daycare, I felt that both my son and I were treated differently, and not in a positive way. At the time, my son was not yet fully adopted, and I couldn't help but feel that this may have influenced how we were perceived and treated. As a parent, that was incredibly disheartening. The transition to Jennifer Mehlenleacher & Christine Belykh was also a major factor in our experience. There seemed to be a noticeable decline in overall organization and communication, along with significant staff turnover and ongoing staffing shortages. This created an environment that felt unstable and, at times, concerning. I personally witnessed Jennifer numerous times talked down to her staff humiliating them in front of guests. Which was not uncomfortable for the guests, but it was extremely humiliating for her staff. I chose to wait before writing this review so I could reflect and compare our experience with another daycare. Having now seen what a supportive, well-run environment looks like, I can confidently say that this experience did not meet reasonable expectations. I truly hoped for a much more positive experience, and it's unfortunate that it didn't turn out that way.

My number one love has always been running. Unfortunately, over the past several years, I have had my fair share injuries and set backs. And, as anyone who loves any particular activity knows, taking time off is torture! I am happy to report I am still at Pursuit Performance now 10 months later. (In spite of initially not planning to stay more than a month or two - which I think speaks volumes.) Why? The trainers are hands-on and tailor workouts based on your history and needs. Josh incorporates a diverse range of modalities that address mobility, agility, strengthening, coordination - and most importantly - injury prevention. Nothing is cookie-cutter and everything is intentional. As a runner, my goal primary goal was to get out of a rut and remain injury free so that I could keep running. Not only did Pursuit Performance deliver, but the icing on the cake? My performance has improved dramatically in a short time. I have come so far since last summer and I feel better both physical and mentally - I can't recommend Pursuit Performance enough. I promise you this is the best step you can take in order to realize your potential. There are lots of investments out there; if you are going to invest in anything, make it this. What you put in you will get back tenfold. And one more thing: I always look forward to seeing new faces, so come work out and make some new friends!

Yes, I might seem biased since I'm a student here, but I think many outsiders agree too. The fitness center is set up on two floors. The first floor is mainly for lifting. There are plenty of free weights and different machines. The second floor has two levels. The first level of the second floor has an open floor area with mats, different machines, and a jungle gym looking structure with different bars and ropes. The second level of the second floor has a ton of cardio equipment and TVs. Beyond the cardio area is a smaller free weights area and plenty of other machines. This fitness center pretty much has every type of machine you can think of. Besides the gym, there are a ton of courts for all types of sports, tracks, and two different pools. One pool is a large one used for swimming and diving while the other pool is more for recreational use that includes a lazy river and a large capacity hot tub! The fitness center is well kept and usually isn't too crowded, depending on when you go. There's only a few things I dislike about this place. First of all, there is no steam room!!! I absolutely love using a steam room after working out and I am surprised they don't have one here (but they do have a sauna). Sometimes it can be impossible to find a parking space when RIT is hosting sports events for other schools in the field house. Lastly (this is tailored toward all my fellow students that use the gym), that awkward moment when you see your professors naked in the locker room haha!

It's a circuit training/HIIT style workout, where you roll around the studio and run through a series of different exercises designed to get your whole body moving and sweating and just in better overall shape. There's some work on machines (ski, treadmill, bike, etc.), weights, bodyweight exercises, and more. If you've ever done F45 or something similar, it's not far off, but it's a cool local shop with personable coaches in a clean environment with surprisingly nice facilities and even products in the bathroom for when you're through. Everyone we spoke with from the front desk to the trainers leading the session to the other folks working out seemed cool, and we'll definitely be back when we're in town. Like most workouts (and many other things in life), you get out what you put in. Meaning, if you come in ready to see what your body can do, you'll get a great sweat on. They have a shirt for sale that says, "But did you die?" And I like that. Bring your own towel.

When I initially talked to my salesperson he told me that the club was getting a red light sauna as the current one was not working, I assumed it would be soon but the sauna has not worked in 10 weeks since I have been a member which is absurd/ridiculous for a fitness club...I used to own a fitness club with indoor tennis, large fitness room, (at the time one of the biggest in upstate N.Y.), aerobics, pro shop, nice locker rooms with a sauna...if the sauna ever broke down which happened frequently as members would pour water on the coils and short circuit them I would FedEx the appropriate parts and get it fixed ASAP...plus the salesperson was not working there days after I joined so he probably knew that and said anything to sell a membership and assuming get a commission 2. In my opinion the club is oversold with memberships as no matter what time I come in there to work out it's tough getting on any piece of equipment as there's so many people working out 3. I had a member try to walk out with my jacket which I moved around with me as I worked out as didn't want to use your locker rooms 4. I don't want to use your locker room as the one day I forgot my flip flops and I got a wart on the bottom of my foot from your locker room floor 5. The main reason I joined your club is that you had a sauna versus Planet Fitness which did not 6. I have since joined Planet Fitness, both your club and PF are about the same distance and time from my house on East Ave and PF has probably 3x the equipment and space of your club, better machines with at least 2 of every plate loaded machine which usually means no waiting for a machine to work out on + they have more free weights than yours 7. Numerous times your club was dirty, noticeably the floors on the fitness areas 8. I tripped over your vacuum cord which has a 30-40' extension cord...I'm almost 77 and luckily I caught myself and didn't fall which could have been a lawsuit...I own a 4,000 sq. ft. home with 3 stories, (1875 house), and I have the same vacuum which is cordless for safety and ease of moving around and the last club I belonged to, (Midtown), had the cordless backpack vacuum so members wouldn't trip over a long cord and for ease of movement and safety and was faster as no cord to deal with...if I can have a cordless one as a homeowner I'm sure a big corporation like LA Fitness can afford one 9. I previously emailed the manager or so I thought but it was a generic email to LA Fit on a Friday and she never got back to me, I was told at the front desk that I could email her directly from the web site but it was a common email only...after I complained to her (Abby) at the front desk the next Monday she probably looked for it and got back to me in a day or so after that...I've taught small business administration and entrepreneurship at the college level and waiting 4-5 days to respond to a customer's complaint is not acceptable in a well run company...when I complained to her about the sauna she were cordial but kept giving me the run around about it and when it would be fixed and refused to give me any club credit for lack of services - the sauna - which was the main reason I joined your club 10. So I'm leaving LA Fitness and their lack of getting the sauna fixed in 10 weeks means they will lose my membership for many years to come, I've worked out and been an athlete since the 4th grade and will never stop belonging to a gym so LA lost thousands of dollars on my future membership and after the review I post which will be much of the above, you will lose numerous future members and cost the club 10's of thousands of dollars 11. The spin bikes are from maybe 2005 at the best and they are the worst spin bikes I have ever used in 25+ years...and they have maybe 2-3 spin classes a week, I only ever saw one 12. This "Gym" is like a used car lot from 1970 with sales people having desks to sit you down to hard sell you a membership for a "special deal" if you join that day...lying about anything to sell a membership and have that same slimy feeling of those old time used car sales people 13. And when I walked into the club and talked to Abby (East Ave Club in Brighton) I was told that initially I had paid for the first and last month so I have been billed for an extra month upfront so if you want to cancel they get an extra month out of you...what a scam from old time car dealers and scummy salespeople from clubs in the 1970's + 1980's and 1990's Mark McCarthy

(There's an area in the weight area with about 5 rowing machines that's almost always empty plus one's been broken for awhile now. There are other rowing machines as well) Additional weight plates added for the squat racks and bench press areas. Not sure if plates have disappeared or broken but more are needed. Also, addition of colored , matching bumper plates for the squat racks. Yes, 25 lbs is the same no matter the color but let's make it look nice. Plus barbell math is hard at 5am! On the positive side, they've added EV charging stations in the parking lot. Customer service remains excellent. Anytime, we've needed help - it's been easy to find.

What a joke this place is! I called and he said it was free to come and workout to try the…read morefacility. I make the 15 minute walk there, sign the waiver and proceed to warm up. I am then stopped by a 125lb trainer, saying I cannot workout without one of the staff trainers, even advanced lifters cannot. He asked for me to stop warming up and wait 5 mins and he will "guide me through my workout" lol I was dumb founded...I have trained at numerous gyms all around the country and never ran into this before. I end up waiting close to 15 mins...I pack up and leave. This is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. Now I respect how their business is run...but would have been nice to have known on the phone...or when I signed the waiver.... what is the point of the waiver now? If I get hurt under his supervision, I should be able to hold him accountable..... Many lifters do not need guidance through workouts...let alone being "trained" by someone who does not even look like they lift...I would not take advice from any of the trainers there....look the part at least. Need to get a workout in??? Go elsewhere sad thing is, this "gym" is very well equipped...all goes to waste

It is a different workout each time, making sure you don't plateau. It's what all the fitness articles tell you to do but sometimes you need the push from elsewhere to make it happen...and Jenna and the other trainers at PowerTrain do just that! The difference from OT is that PowerTrain has a weight room that you can go to at a convenient time for you and do your own thing..or sign up for personal training classes. This is a bit costly but if you're regularly attending, you're getting what you pay for. GIve it a try!! A heart rate monitor is given to you on arrival and you watch your HR throughout class...making sure to stay in the green, orange or red zones to maximize your workout. Go! Have a great time!! Embrace the soreness...it feels so good :)

Even though the gym is nice on the tour, there are a few aspects that you don't realize about this…read moregym until after going there about a month. Every week night from 5-6 the gym is packed, to the point the parking lot is full and you have to park in the dirt lot near the trail. I'm used to this at other gyms I went to, but it was my first time experiencing a locker room legitimately running out of lockers. That was crazy to me and you would think for the price they would have facilities to accommodate their members? They also make promises when you sign up that they do not intend to follow through on. When I signed up the sales man told me they would deduct the cost of my old gym membership from the next month's payment. This did not occur and I sent all the necessary documents to the guys so now I'm waiting on a ticket to go through to a manager one of the front desk staff submitted. To sum it, this gym is not worth the price. If they were around the 100/month range I may have changed my rating, but to have had these types of issues paying over 200 a month for a gym is ridiculous.
