Great Japanese food at Malaga. The sushi was expertly made and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. It is a respite from the heavier fare we had all week. read more

Service was on point, which we haven't seen in quite a while! A light, casual, and cool ambiance, Oléo is fitting for anytime of the day. ********** Toro Roll (Crab, Avocado, Fatty Tuna, Foie Gras): we LOVED the foie addition to the fatty tuna taste. A truly comforting bite. Tuna Tartare w/ Truffle & Egg: *off-the-menu* MUST ORDER‼This is the best tartare dish we've had. Every single ingredient blended together so perfectly, each of clear significance and its own essence. Butterfish, Caviar Salt, Truffle: buttery, fresh, and fatty. We loved it. Vietnamese Goat Roll: really like that they included the different herbs to roll with the lettuce. Millefeuille Pastry: this is their best dessert choice. The top is caramelized, mixing perfectly with the cream. Passion Fruit Mousse & Yogurt Ice Cream: tastes exactly how you would think. The mousse is light and fruity. The ice cream reminds us a lot of Yakult (probiotic milk drink) which is amazing!

It is…read morelocated in a touristy area that has a lot of people, but it stood out as a place we all wanted to go and try out when we saw the menu. It is sort of an open air environment, even inside because there is not much bad weather in Malaga. We sat at a comfortable table with chairs and a couch on one side. For non-Spainish speakers, the staff was pretty good at catching what I wanted to order. For my drink I chose a gin & tonic (G&T) with the local gin, Larios, which was excellent. The server was my kind of pourer when he came to the table with a large goblet of ice and then proceeded to just pour until I said stop, then finished it off with the tonic. For food we chose to get a cheese platter to share with local cheeses (not to be missed are the cheeses in this region of Spain). Then for my primary dishes I got a shredded beef taco (5.5 Euro) and my new favorite which YOU HAVE TO TRY, chunky fried potatoes with a morita chili aioli sauce (5 Euro)....OMG....I had this dish twice in Malaga at two locations and it is sooooo good. I would definitely recommend this place to go for tapas and drinks.

A delicious break from the tapas of Malaga!…read more This place was near our hotel and had good ratings on other review sites (cough cough) so we went for a normal-time-dinner if we were in the UK, but an entirely too early time for Spain, so we had the whole place to ourselves. The eclectic mix of Japanese and Korean worked well, but the menu was a bit muddled into a general Asian vibe. It was fine for us though. I had a pad thai that was pretty good. It wasn't the most authentic thing I've ever had but the noodles were a great quality and the portion generous. I find Spanish food is lacking on vegetables so it was nice to come here and top up 5 a day. We also shared some really good kimchi dumplings, which were a bit bland but along with some fresh kimchi went down really easily. A friendly neighbourhood-type place that doesn't break the bank brings a perfectly good 3 star place up to a 4. Great service!

The restaurant is spacious and clean and not as loud as many all-you-can-eat restaurants usually are. However, the menu is somehow limited. There are not many dishes to choose from and you have to pay an extra for all the good things. I would have liked a more thorough description of each plate. My boyfriend is allergic to seafood and it was hard to tell by the pictures which dishes contained seafood and which ones didn't. The quality of the food was good, but not great.

I got a table near the windows - the waitress told me it would be cooler there, which i was glad for... I was also told that there was no buffet, but I could order everything from the menu for one price - 'great', I thoght - and yes, it absolutely was! The menu had little pictures on it - makes sense if you don't know some of the names of the dishes, and some dishes can only be ordered in the evening and weekend, when the price is also higher ... You can get five different dishes per order, and the dishes are sized smaller so you can try more ;). The waitress also told me that you have to eat up everything, otherwise you have to pay a fee... Because I was hungry I had the chance to try a lot (see pictures) and I think it was delicious! A very fresh and tasty salad, good (and lots of different) sushi/maki, fresh grilled meat, fried rice or noodels with vegetables/meat/prawns, and a lot more! For dessert there are only three options (fruit salad, green tea/vanilla ice cream or grean tea flan) which was a little bit too little for me - but you can easily get a nice ice cream in the area around, because the location is good... I also visited the bathroom which was spacy and clean, so also a plus here! The next time I stay in Malaga I want to come back!

The two of us had a fun assortment called 'una bandeja', which is 4 pieces each of the chef's choice of sushi roll, inside-out roll, nigiri, and sashimi; we added on a Misuto maki, and an unagi roll (both with very generous portions), and several additional nigiri pieces of "ventresca de atun" (tuna belly) with ponzu or shaved truffle. We enjoyed all of it. I would go back, but not rush back or make it a central part of a Málaga eating agenda. There are no paper menus, only the digital one. They do not serve green (or any) tea; the server appeared not to understand the request. Service was efficient. It is not very common in Spain for servers to make conversation, be warm, or be interested in whether you like the meal, and that was the case here. It is a small restaurant with additional room upstairs. Reservations highly recommended.
