Early on, our daughter asked if we should seek treatment from a well know medical facility up in Palo Alto, which we considered. So glad we didn't as the treatment throughout to include Pacific Cancer Care has been above what she would receive if we went that route. Without getting into details of our situation but the care my wife received was incredible and no doubt saved her life and eased her pain and stress and anxiety.

Majority of the staff I think is very well mannered in the back of office, but some of the receptionist are a little bit snooty, and rude. I have never had issues with medical assistance receptionist in the back or any of the doctors. Reading some of the reviews makes me kind of sad. I am really happy that I have not experienced this ever in the last five years. But they could definitely get a couple of better behavior receptionist at the front. Aside from that, I am so grateful that I found this medical group. They have been a huge blessing to me.

Fantastic Surgery Center -- we are relatively new to the area and I had to have surgery on my hand…read more I've heard from several people that Dr. James Lin is the best in the Monterey area... and everything I heard is true... Dr. Lin is amazing. I was so nervous (and scared, if I'm being completely honest). I had my surgery done at the Monterey Peninsula Surgery Center on Cass St. The surgery center is in an older building, but once I stepped inside, the woman behind the front desk put me at ease. And when I was brought to the back area to prepare for my surgery, almost all of my worries were pretty much forgotten. The staff at the surgery center was professional and warm (maybe they could tell that I was nervous). Brian took my blood pressure, etc. He was very nice. Talking to him was like talking to a good friend. The nurses and other medical staff (Dana, Vicky, Alice, and Richard) were just as friendly. In my humble opinion, bedside manner really counts. Another thing I noticed is that the facility was VERY clean and well-organized. Before I went to the area where I would change into my gown, I went to the restroom ... it was spotless (extra points for that!). A nice touch was Dr. Lin asking me what music I wanted in the operating room.

Thank you to all of you, and also the 2 new nurses introduced to me in the operating room as I was saying hello while succumbing to the anesthesia. I remember laughing to myself as they wheeled me down the hall, and saying I felt like a famous formula 1 driver and they were my superstar pit crew! Thanks again for making a surgery day go smooth and without fear.

It can be tough to find a good OB-GYN when you are past your childbearing years. This practice is the nicest doctor's office I have ever seen. Prompt care, clean cozy environment and last but not least great fancy coffee drinks. Not to mention, a fantastic bedside manner from the husband and wife doctor/medical team. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I came here with an urgency/emergency. I had a Bartholin cyst the size of an egg in my "lady bits" that was caused by sloppy post-procedure negligence after a colonoscopy at CHOMP. I HATE CHOMP. Expensive, uncaring, hard to get appointments, patients treated like walking #s and $s, did I mention expensive?!?! We received a, over $13,000 ER bill for a migraine headache! How do an IV and a few shots add up to over 13k? I called CHOMP's OB-GYN dept to make an appointment AFTER I described the hell I was going through (due to their negligence) the Ad Min I was talking to said: "We can get you in the last week of April (it was the 1st week of Dec 2019) if it would help you out." Ugh, did you not hear that I have a cyst that is infected, has had to be drained 2x and the antibiotics are making me violently ill and throwing up?!? My husband lost 2 days of work already and I am living in a hell!!" She told me if it was "bad enough" I should go to the ER!!! I was dumbfounded and asked, "there is NOTHING between waiting months with an infected abscess for MONTHS and grossly expensive ER visits that completely debilitate me?!?" The answer was "No, it is either ER or April. That is ALL we can do." I called another great doctor and small practice, Dr. Terry Franklin's office and they recommended LAiMA. It was 3 days later and due to my 1-star review on Google that a supervisor from CHOMP called me to "help" me get an appointment in a more "timely" way. I told her I already found an amazing practice and that I will not remove my 1 star because it still stands that CHOMP fumbled this and my health. I got in the next day at LAiMA and they quickly came up with a treatment plan. Vlad REALLY LISTENS and wants to work with you rather than talking at you like most doctors do. I told him and his wife "I just feel poisoned." They proactively listen and let me know that they will not blow me off and believe me. When the fluid in the abscess was cultured, it turned out that I was 100% correct that CHOMP caused the cyst because there was e.coli present in the cyst that is usually only present in the large intestine. I now have concrete proof this was caused by CHOMP. It was a very unfortunate way that I discovered this amazing practice but I am SUPER grateful I did. I look forward to being a patient for many years to come. I have already recommended the practice to other women. Normally I would not discuss negative reviews in a positive one but feel I would remiss if I did not point out that people that attack this doctor think that CHOMP has their best interests in mind. They could not be more wrong. First off, CHOMP is a huge, rich and therefore powerful hospital that has a vested interest in eliminating any and all competition. 2nd, IF and only IF there is a shred of truth to their claims, does it not occur to them there might be a good reason he changed hospitals? He HAS to be accountable. He has to follow the law and not disclose things he has seen/experienced and or had patients see/experienced at CHOMP. If he did HE would be guilty of slander and liable. Some times doctors have to save people from themselves. I have "first hand The medical "system" in this country is broken and my recent experience has me grateful that there are still small, private practices like this one serving the community. If CHOMP had it their way, I would be medically tortured for months. The "facts" these neg reviewers cite are nothing short of the legal definition of SLANDER and LIABLE. It is one thing to tell your own story, one is entitled to this especially on this site, but to "recall" what was ALLEGEDLY (they really should look into their legal liability) said by "CHOMP nurses," friends/neighbors and a dentist is not only irresponsible but a tort. It is a good thing that these doctors let their good reviews and happy patients speak for them rather than sue for defamation of character.

Our experience with this office has been extremely concerning, particularly the way we have been…read moretreated by reception and the lack of communication regarding continuity of care. My son was referred by our insurance to nurse practitioner Laura Slippy in April for an ongoing medical issue. She prescribed medication and made a referral to an office with a long waitlist. She said she would provide care until then. The earliest specialist appointment we could obtain is in November, so she had continued managing his care while we waited. Without any warning or discussion, she stopped responding to refill requests from the pharmacy and became unreachable through messages. When I finally reached reception to find out what was happening, I was told that because my son had been referred, she would no longer provide care for this issue, no warning or plan for the withdrawal symptoms his medication can cause. I was told the clinic manager would call me, and then the receptionist hung up on me. At one point I actually asked the receptionist if everything was okay or if we had done something wrong because the hostility I was encountering was so unexpected and unlike anything I have experienced from a medical office. Most concerning is that my son was left without his prescribed medication and without a continuity-of-care plan. We were given no advance notice that the NP intended to stop prescribing it, no appointment to discuss discontinuing it, and no explanation from a clinician about how his symptoms should be managed until he can see the specialist. Unfortunately, this was not my first troubling experience with this provider. I was also referred to Laura Slippy for ADHD medication management after previously being diagnosed by a psychiatrist. During my appointment, she told me that I could not have ADHD because I was not a "12-year-old boy" and recommended that I stop my medication without tapering. After stopping it, I experienced severe symptoms and ultimately sought urgent medical care from another provider. I understand that providers may decide a medication is no longer appropriate or that a specialist should take over a patient's care. My concern is not that a provider made a medical decision I disagreed with. My concern is the absence of communication, advance notice, and a safe plan for ongoing care, combined with extraordinarily rude treatment when I tried to find out what was happening. Based on our experiences, I would not feel comfortable trusting this office with my family's medical care again.
