3rd Update 2019: I am still very happy with Dr. Hart Peterson. I continue to get stronger, and am taking very few (natural) supplements now because I am so much healthier. My gallbladder was my main problem over the years. I thought my problem was headaches, and It wasn't completely obvious why he was treating my gallbladder. A surgeon had told me years before I went to Dr. Peterson that my GB was enlarged, and he planned to remove it without figuring out why it was enlarged. He said I didn't need it anyway. I didn't like his "just cut it out" approach and I didn't have that surgery. (The problem I had seen him for originally went away on its own and I forgot all about surgery.) But years later, when Dr. Peterson told me that I had GB troubles which were causing headaches, I recalled what the surgeon had said. Knowing what I know now, I am so glad that I still have my GB and it is now healthy!! Gallbladders are important. Neurologists (several) had told me there was nothing they can do for my headaches except: 1) medicines that didn't help, or 2) botox. I am either a coward about botox or just sensible. If I had gone with botox, my gallbladder problems would have gone untreated. Surely, my gallbladder would be removed by now and I would be in the unhappy situation that many folks find themselves in when they don't really address the underlying problems. I notice that the bad reviews on here are written by people who did not follow the advice. One case was because the reviewer felt Dr. Peterson wasn't listening and was therefore treating the wrong thing. I guess I easily could have taken that attitude. I went there for headaches, but he treated my gallbladder. I am glad I gave it a chance. That reviewer wrote that he believes that Dr. Peterson only treats the gut. Well that is not true at all. Another reviewer apparently did take his recommendation, but said it didn't work and so rather than go back and say it didn't help so that the treatment could be tweaked, the reviewer didn't go back. Getting well from a long and/or mysterious illness can be an iterative process. Fix the problem shouting the loudest, and then you can finally notice a second problem. The good reviews are from people who stuck with it. read more

I saw Dr. Peterson for chronic constipation. He did the muscle testing on me, told me I had an enflamed esophagus, and that I was drinking too much water and told me to take it down to about 35 oz per day....less than half of what I typically drink. (Drink much less water if you're constipated?). I spent a small fortune on supplements...one of which was Silver...which ChatGPT tells me the body has no need for and can actually be harmful if you don't follow the directions of an MD. My research also showed that the supplements I was given have not been shown to assist with gut health....either in Eastern or Western medicine. Perhaps I was not looking at the right information? I'm confused by how different my experience was compared to all of the rave reviews. It sounds like he has helped lots of people which is GREAT. But I think I would maybe take the sheet of paper he gives you which lists all the recommended supplements and treatments.....and then go do some research on them so that you can decide whether you want to invest in them or not. In fairness to Dr. Peterson....I did not follow through on his recommended strategy (including a super strict diet). I just didn't feel that this was the right path for me. read more

Dr Hart saved my life! I am so very thankful for his help!!!! I've been going to Dr's for years with horrible stomach issues, anxiety, depression, skin problems, ets. I was always told its just IBS, and given lots of prescription meds to deal with symptoms. Never dealing with the root issue. I visited this doctor after reading positive Yelp reviews. I've never been to a Naturopathic doctor, so the experience was definitely new and different for me. I felt skeptical at first, but he seemed to know so much, and I went ahead and did his recommendations and I'm feeling so much better now. My wife and I went to this practice because I had heard good things from a friend and because so many of these reviews on here are so positive. The short version of my review is this: if you already believe whole-heartedly in Naturopathy then this guy is probably fine for you. If you, like me, are an open-minded person who is interested but a virgin to it, read on. Or at least do your homework first like I should have. Before I get into this let me just say that I have no desire to drag someone's name in the mud. But I do think I have a right to present my observations. When I read on here people saying he does "muscle testing" I assumed it was some legit scientific diagnostic method and I was excited. It's not. Here's what it is: the patient holds out her arm straight. The doctor pushes her arm down. Then he holds a bottle of supplements against her clothed body and tries again. Based on her body's better or worse ability to resist his push he then knows whether or not her body "needs" this supplement. Here's the kicker: after doing this once or twice he brings in his assistant, who touches the patient and then holds out her own arm for the doctor to push down on--somehow creating a current of energy from the supplement through the patient's body through the assistant's body. (Why the doctor's body, which is holding the supplement, doesn't factor in I don't know. I suppose I'm not trained in the arts.) Now if you just read that and don't see the glaring scientific holes in this diagnostic procedure, then you aren't interested in science. Which is fine, I just think we should be honest with ourselves. There's more. We went because my wife has a gluten allergy. It's not Celiac's disease, and it's not a vague gluten-makes-me-feel-bad thing that is now trendy. It's an "I will go into anaphylactic shock" ALLERGY to gluten. Without asking any questions to determine this distinction, Dr. Peterson already had his diagnosis. It was a mysterious infection in her gut (which he claims is terribly common and undiagnosed)--one which Peterson's assistant later mentioned would probably not be detected through a lab test. Even after my wife clarified that she didn't have Celiacs, she had an actual ALLERGY he just nodded and continued his diagnosis. He then did the muscle testing and sent us home with $300 worth of supplements and an insane schedule of about 20-30 pills to take daily. And here's the other kicker: he gave her a supplement that contains--wait for it--gluten! Yes, he literally sent her home with a medicine that may have killed her. Luckily she's learned to trust nothing and read labels, so she didn't take it. It took me about 1 minute to find the name of a gluten-free alternative online, which they had in stock and actually cost a little bit less. They switched it out for us and I hope they were embarrassed. Also we never went to any follow up appointments and they never once called us. So yes, full disclosure, she didn't take the supplements he prescribed more than maybe a day. But would you have? I felt silly enough having paid for it. He also conveniently said that if we didn't get a filter for our shower and only--only--drink Ozarka spring water, there was no guarantee that his regiment would work. Finally let me say this: it's possible that Peterson knows how to fix some things. He seems to think every illness has a digestive origin, so if you are having digestive problems maybe he will work for you. I personally wouldn't bet on it. I think you're better off picking your favorite religion and going to a spiritual healer, because as far as I can tell the placebo effect or dumb luck is about the only way you'll feel better from this practice. read more

I went to Dr. Hart a few years ago with mysterious digestive issues that traditional medicine could not help with. I tried so many different things, including elimination diets, and nothing worked. Within a month or two my digestive system was functioning better than it had been in years. Since then, I've entrusted him to help with several other scenarios, from the flu to clearing up my skin and increasing energy levels. He also helped me feel really really great throughout my pregnancy, especially in reducing heart burn and morning sickness. We take our toddler there for care, too. The muscle testing is especially great for his care, since it's harder for him to verbally communicate what's going on in his body at 15 months. I love that Dr. Hart pretty much always has an answer for everything, and that the recovery time from a virus or flu is 3x faster than it would be otherwise. I have referred several friends and family and he's helped us all with so many different things...many that seem really hard to figure out or mysterious from a traditional medicine standpoint. I want to start by saying the staff is amazing. I found the staff to be compassionate and genuinely kind towards me. However, my visit with Dr. Peterson was not as fluid. As a clinician, our first duty is to LISTEN to our patients. I never got that respect. All I got was "we're going to fix this!" That sounds promising right? Well...it's not promising when his diagnosis is wrong. When he's mentioning symptoms I don't have but in HIS mind he's sure. He never gave me an opportunity to discuss my needs/concerns/questions. Also, his door was wide open for the entire clinic to hear. No confidentiality was addressed. As I walked in, I over heard other people's ailments and treatments. I should have left at that point. I don't think Dr. Peterson is a bad person and I imagine he has helped many people but in my personal opinion, he is doing himself and others a huge disservice by not taking adequate time to LISTEN to his patients. Not all patients are the same even if their ailments look identical. Dr. Hart helped me in ways I didn't even know I needed help. Between him and the supplements I was healed. I had been struggling with low, low energy, anxiety, mood swings, lots of food sensitivities and kept trying wondering what the root cause of it all was. First, I went to regular medical doctors asking if my thyroid might be off, but was told that my thyroid levels were in the normal range. They wanted to prescribe me medicines for my low energy and anxiety. I refused! Then, I went to see Wiseman Family Practice (sort of a medicine-holistic mix) and they did in fact (after blood work) told me that my thyroid was off as well as me having really low B-12 and folic acid levels. I got on some supplements and felt better for two weeks, but tapered off again. Then I found a homeopathic nutritionist who did extensive blood work on me. It looked as though my gut and liver were off and she gave me a ton of vitamins and supplements and after 6 months, I was feeling a tiny bit better, but still seemed just as lethargic and anxious as before. To give you an idea of what low energy for me was- Sitting on a couch and smiling was exhausting. Breathing was exhausting. I could barely do normal activities. So, I had definitely hit an all-time low! Then, by the grace of God, I found Dr. Hart Peterson! I called him on the phone and he personally called me back to get a feel for my symptoms and what he would be dealing with. The next week, I went in for my first appointment and he muscle-tested me. I had not told him any blood work results from the nutritionist, but within five minutes of muscle-testing he identified everyone on my blood work and identified even extra items. He told me that my thyroid, indeed, was off and pointed to my swollen thyroid glands. He also told me that my liver was not functioning at all, my kidneys were off, my gallbladder was clogged as well as my colon. But the biggest factor for my low energy was that I had H-pylori (a parasite). He gave me pills to kill off the H-pylori and within three days I was feeling 70% better.
