"I made it," she replied I gawked at it and envied her for having access to a button maker. A year later, Portland Button Works has appeared and granted my wish to make my own Tina Fey buttons. Oh, what fun! There's much more to this place than the name might lead you to believe. While buttons are there to be bought, ordered, or even made by you on a whim in person at the store, they also carry a wide selection of zines. I've only been there one time and I'm already feeling very inspired to read more zines. Finally a place in Portland with awesome zines that I can get to without crossing a bridge or those pesky streetcar tracks. The fifth quadrant of this city has been waiting for a place like this to open for a while now. If you're not fortunate enough to live nearby, then have no fear as it's just a block or so off the Killingsworth Max stop. Besides having a really nice selection of zines and buttons, the store itself feels very welcoming and cozy. There are benches to sit on inside that seem to be created from recycled materials, and I believe most of the shelving has been made from pallets. In the center of the store sits an island with a few button makers on it, beckoning for you to make your own. In addition to the awesome space, the folks who run the store are really welcoming and eager to answer questions or chat about zines. I am very excited for this new addition to the neighborhood and the future buttons to be made!

Prices that go down with steps in volume make shopping there super thrifty. It's reassuring how they keep you apprised of your order's progress as it goes through their system. You get an immediate acknowledgment, and notifications when the buttons go into production and get shipped. I asked if I could get the buttons by a date two weeks out, and they came in more like two days. I got a handwritten note from the proprietor and a bonus grab bag of RESIST buttons with my order.

The pair I found is a knee high style in brown suede with a small block heel, they are a quintessential classic done so beautifully. They are also the comfiest pair of boots I have ever owned. From the look of the soles both inside and out, these at most got worn once before being donated, yet I had no break in period. I'm not sure how I was blessed enough for the thrift gods to bestow them upon me, but I will be praying and keeping my eyes peeled for another pair in black. I arrived early enough to be fourth in line, and there were only approximately 15 customers total, including myself, waiting for the event. Despite being fourth in line, the Breasties inventory available was extremely limited. From what I could see, there were only approximately four to five purses from the collection available, including two Naomi bags, a Koala, a bucket bag, and a few other accessory items. Most items were Baby Pink, with only one Teal colored item that I saw. There were no Coral items and no Butter Bliss items, nothing else I had seen that they promoted on the website at all. I understand that limited-edition merchandise can sell quickly, but given that I was fourth in line, the lack of selection clearly was not the result of my arriving late or inventory being purchased by customers ahead of me. I had driven a few hours specifically hoping to purchase Butter Bliss, so this was already extremely disappointing. I decided to make the best of the trip and purchase a Baby Pink Naomi for my daughter along with a Baby Pink heart coin bag. When I went to check out, however, I was told that I could purchase only one item total. I specifically questioned this because the purchase-limit information published on your website indicated a limit per item/style, which I understood to mean that customers could purchase one of each different item. Instead, I was told that I had to choose between the purse and the coin bag. This was particularly frustrating because I relied on the information Portland Leather provided when deciding to make what ultimately became a long round trip. Had the promotion clearly stated that customers would be limited to one Breasties item total, regardless of whether they were purchasing different products, I could have made an informed decision before investing that amount of time and fuel. My concern is not simply that I was unable to purchase Butter Bliss. I understand that specific colors and styles cannot always be guaranteed. My larger concern is the combination of extremely limited inventory despite being fourth in line and an in-store purchasing restriction that did not appear to match the information communicated online. Events like this generate excitement and encourage loyal customers to make a special effort to attend. If customers are willing to travel significant distances based on promotional information, I believe it is reasonable to expect the inventory expectations and purchasing restrictions to be communicated accurately and consistently. Unfortunately, what should have been an enjoyable experience with a brand and collection I was excited about left me feeling that the trip was a waste of both my time and gas. The experience was disappointing enough that I have genuinely lost much of my enthusiasm for the collection and future promotional events. I hope Portland Leather will review both how this event was promoted and how the purchase limits were implemented at the Austin location.

The T shirt design, albeit simple, had very deep meaning and the short timeframe made it very difficult to find a shop to accommodate my dire need. Hiller's came through for me printing out over 30 shirts within a matter of days. The Shirts came out great and everyone wore the shirts with pride as they made it through the finish line feeling a sense of accomplishment but humbled as we knew the deep meaning behind the shirt related to my best friend who just the previous week lost his daughter after a 5+ year battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma. May God bless Hiller's Emblem Shop and their willingness to help me when every other shop in the area was not able to.

I also saw BTS, Aespa, Stray Kids, BlackPink, Twice, Seventeen...etc. The person working was friendly and told me Enhypen sells quickly, but they get shipment in twice a week! So check back often! They have some claw machines. Some are little keychains and trinkets/plushies, but one has photocards! There is a shelf area with a handful of lightsticks, which I can imagine are very popular.
