I have…read morespent the past two and a half years interviewing and researching a replacement dog walker after losing our previous walker. It's hard to find that special person who you feel safe entrusting with both the four-legged members of your family as well as with your home. I knew within minutes of meeting Amy that we had finally found that perfect someone. Amy arrived at our "Meet and Greet" with a pet first aid kit that would put a hospital ER to shame and an easy going and friendly personality that immediately put my dogs at ease. I sat and politely listened to Amy tell me all about the business and her experience but I knew, instinctively, that we had finally found our new walker. Amy started within days of our initial meeting and by the second day she even had my nervous nellie dachshund snuggling up next to her. Amy visits my house twice a day Monday through Friday. She has always shown up as scheduled and if winter weather has caused a delay or cancellation she has provided notice well in advance. She provides incredibly detailed visit reports which include multiple pictures of the day's activities and sometimes even videos. I cannot recommend Amy and You Lucky Dog highly enough. She provides me with peace of mind, knowing that my furry little bundles of joy are being lovingly cared for while I'm away from home.

Since switching her diet she's gotten much healthier, and seems way more like the girl we remember. If you're looking for a value or discount establishment go somewhere else, but if you're looking to do right by your animals, this is very likely the best place you can go. The level of passion shown by the owner was especially nice. This is the kind of spot that I hope stays in business, for the animals sake.

Fred assured me that the bulldog would be fine, and that he was just "lazy". I politely asked Fred if I could bring a vet along to assess the dog and he accused me of not trusting him, and yelled at me on the phone telling me I wasn't worthy of his bulldogs and that he refused to sell me the bulldog. I was completely in shock. Caroline and Fred tried to use bully tactics to get me into purchasing one of their dogs who clearly wasn't well, and would undoubtedly cost me and arm and a leg in vet fees to look after. I was appalled at their approach, and definitely would not recommend them to any prospective breeder.

So I called this place and asked if I could come and see them and to my surprise they really really are in Connecticut! I was thrilled! I went out to the farm and lo and behold, the most beautiful puppies ever! I fell in love with two and I only went there for one. There is no high pressure sale here, just time to sit and play before you choose or wait for the next litter. I met with Melissa, she asked me what I was looking for and brought out a few. Her own dogs are gorgeous and well behaved. It was pretty tough trying to choose. Beautiful grounds and a place to sit and play. I was and am so impressed with this place I absolutely love it and if I could I would move in! Thank you Melissa for helping me choose!!

We were thankful to find Barking Lot, which didn't require sign up ahead of time and had openings on day one. After a half-day behavioral assessment, our dog was accepted and spent the rest of the day in their facility. While we (and our dog, presumably) appreciated the outdoor space and general separation of bigger dogs and smaller dogs, there were aspects of this environment that were not optimal for our dog, like minimal supervision and a bit of a free for all during the day. Someone takes photos and posts them on Facebook everyday, which is nice. While BL had its conveniences, it doesn't seem as good for a dog that might need more attention and care. Maybe it's better for dogs with a little more independence.
