No rating is deserved. Better late than never. I thought I posted here back in 2016. But don't see the post or maybe it was not approved? We had the Shaw Luxury Vinyl Floating Floor installed in the kitchen on 07/08/2016. We were billed for the sub-contractors to take up the fist layer of linoleum. Which they did not do! The sub-contractors would bring in one box of the tile at a time. In the end, they took off with all of the unused tile without leaving it with us. Let alone laid down tile that had imperfections. Which could've been replaced with the tile they left with. We paid for it! To top it off, two installers came. One did all of the work, while the other guy just stood around watching him. He wasn't going to do anything, because he was quitting the next day. Be forewarn that you don't know if your sub-contractors are going to do the right thing. No one from Harry's will come and inspect their work to make sure it is to your satisfaction. I will never do busy with Harry's Corner again or recommend them! read more

I should start this review by stating that Harry's Corner installed carpet in 3 rooms plus an 800sq ft open basement for me 15+ years ago. That's why I went back. I had a quote for new carpet for the basement from Lowe's. Harry's was about $400 more, but after talking to the sales team (Rick - who wasn't impressive and an older gentleman who was a focused sales pro) I decided to go with them on this new project. We are replacing carpet in preparation for selling the house. I needed the older carpet stretched and new carpet installed. We struck a deal - they would stretch the carpet they installed so many years ago for free, if I purchased the new carpet for the basement. We shook hands and I paid the bill - about $2500. Forward to installation day, March 30 2018. Nope - cancelled. So Harry's sends the "B Team" the next day. These fools disassemble a gas stove for no apparent reason. They also tear the brand new baseboard off a section of the basement wall and throw it in the trash. Add to this the fact they tore apart a trim piece that had nothing to do with the carpet installation. And they "FORGOT" to wrap the stairs. Oh yes, and they wanted another $50 to take away the old carpet. Did they stretch the carpet? Nope - forgot that, too. Horrible service! My real estate agent called multiple times. We couldn't get these clowns to finish the job. I'm 1,000 miles away. Lesson learned - don't trust these guys if you're not looking over their shoulders. I couldn't get the carpet cleaned without it being stretched first (that was part of the conversation on day 1). We had to delay listing the house. In frustration I called the store. Spoke with Debbie - an "executive" with the company. She started by telling me she "knew everything" about my installation. Until I told her what I wrote above - then I got a story about how I, or my real estate agent, didn't call the right customer service number. Evidently talking to the sales guy (Rick) wasn't the right move. And talking to Debbie wasn't either. The level of professionalism is pretty low. I don't recommend this company at all. I'm willing to pay a little extra to support a local company. I'm willing to be flexible with the installation date. I'm patient. But I'm not going to be played the fool and I'm not tolerating sub par customer service. This whole experience was (and is - still working to get that baseboard fixed from half a country away) a disaster. You've been warned. Save your money and go to Lowe's like I should have. This isn't the local store that I patronized so many years ago. You can't go back and some things shouldn't go forward. read more

I have been a loyal Harry's Corner customer for years. I have three properties, and I have purchased carpet and laminate tile from Harry's Corner for all 3 homes. I recently purchased carpet from Harry's Corner for 2 bedrooms in my home and had them install it. One of the bedrooms has 3 solid bi-fold closet doors that match all the doors in my home. The contractor removed one of the bi-fold closet doors and left it in the middle of the floor. The other two bi-fold closet doors will not open or close, are tilted, offtrack, and jammed back into the door frames. As a result, I had to hire a different contractor to come and cut the doors and they couldn't even get them out. The carpet installation was also unprofessional. The carpet was too short in some areas and bunched in others. They left metal strips, damaged the headboard and foot-board of a king size bed, scratched my wood floor in the hall, left garbage and carpet fibers as they brought it in up the stairs and in the hallways. The most disappointing part is after a call to Harry's Corner to let them know about the contractor's horrible job they sent Rick, the manager, out who agreed that the work was horrible, and that the contractor needed to fix it. Rick also stated that Harry's Corner would pay to have a door company fix our doors. But the next day Rick stated he would not be fixing the doors because the contractor said he didn't take them off to install the carpet. Rick said the contractor just jammed the carpet underneath the two doors, therefore Harry's Corner is not responsible. After being a loyal customer for years I will not be doing business with them in the future and I will encourage others to do the same. So disappointed. read more

Bought a whole house of what I thought was Shaw carpet from these guys. I've been in B2B sales and leadership for over 20 years, thought I could tell when I was being lied to. I was lied to so expertly I bought it all. I wanted carpet that would work with my dyson, no problem! FALSE, the warranty on my no-name carpet doesn't cover me using a dyson. I want a name brand carpet that will resist cat puke, this Shaw carpet has it! FALSE, it wasn't even Shaw and the product specifically says warranty doesn't cover pet stains I want expert installation, no problem! WOW, Thieves AND Liars! I paid $35 to have 1 room of my home measured for carpet. While the man was here, I told him I would like to eventually get all of my home redone as I could afford it. I asked if he could measure it all, he said, of course, it was all the same to him for the $35. Great! He said he could provide it for me the next business day, so I can perhaps change the carpets before a large party I was having an open house for my essential oils business. He assured me of all of this and that the measurements would be broken down room by room for future carpeting. Simple, right? NO WAY! That was Sept. the 9th. I called them today as I never received these measurements, and went on and had my party dirty carpet and all. I was given a carpet quote for it all. When I told the man the situation and that I wanted each room measurement told to me, he refused!!! He said that I had not paid for that, that I had paid simply to have the measurements done, not that I was to get them broken down!!! I asked for a refund as that is NOT what I had paid for nor been told by the measuring man. Also, I was told they attempted to call for this information and got a "full mailbox" message, Umm, no...I check my messages several times a day, I am a small business owner, phone calls mean income. Period. Then, was told they emailed me the info. Again no. I check spam, etc. Nothing. Did a search on it in my email, nothing. So, they have stolen the $35 as the thieves they are. Then lied about contacting me with the information (that they won't give me now?!?!?). I am filing with the BBB, and any other consumer reporting agencies, perhaps even the Attorney General. Only $35, but it is the principal. I cannot stand a thief and I hate a liar. read more

Out shopping for a new refrigerator we wound up buying an entire house of carpeting. I think we have problems with focus. Harry's (Eddie) is as focused as we were not. He asked relevant questions and rapidly helped us narrow down a carpeting choice for the main floor. Before I knew what happened we had bought carpeting for the entire house. It needed it and they offered a great purchase and install package. Harry's had installed the carpeting in my basement (a similarly rapid process) and then came out and stretched it (for a very reasonable price) after our water pipe cracked (blue max) and overwhelmed the sump. Both good experiences. The service, not the water. First they installed downstairs (ask for Tyler) and then about two months later we were ready for upstairs (Tyler again). Upstairs was a day and half long process. All went smoothly and Tyler even found a long lost silver necklace while he was pulling up the old carpeting. Thanks! They will move the furniture for you but I recommend, for your own peace of mind, to box up and move as much as you can ahead of time. It makes the process very smooth, help you de-clutter, and certainly puts the install crew in a good frame of mind when they see you did your part. BTW, the basement carpeting, now 7 years old, has held up well even after we soaked about half of it with the pipe break mentioned above. read more

Ordered Flooring and trim back in Fall 2019. They held the inventory in their back warehouse for a few months until I needed it. Had to order some trim pieces a few times and always got back to me quickly and got the pieces in for pickup in no time at all. Also had a few areas carpeted. Carpet is nice and install is acceptable. They did help run an ethernet line under the carpet, thus causing a "crunching" sound but that is the tape used to seal the covering of the cable. No issue. Sure the store is dated and I'm not a fan of installers coming into my house smelling of smoke, but every installer that has come into my house has the same smell and most have come from Lowes. Almost a year later - carpet is good and flooring looks nice. I chipped a few pieces during install but I have learned how to install without chipping so that is on me and not Harry's read more

Extremely polite craftsmen on the job!!!! They bent over backwards to accommodate us. They could not have made it easier for this carpet replacement. Every detail was done to perfection. I fully agree with you Heather W. Harry's Corner has one of the absolute worst customer service my business has ever encountered! We had used Harry's Corner for carpeting and bathroom tile. They had installed on a Saturday and when they left it looked like a hurricane had hit our store. Their were marks on the walls and baseboards. Random carpeting clumps on the ground and we couldn't close any of our office doors including the bathroom because they had put in tile over older flooring and didn't even check to see if the doors would close. After we had discovered we couldn't close the doors we had called Harry's Corner numerous times until finally we were able to reach someone. We asked them to come fix the doors or flooring and they had responded that they don't do that. We had then asked if they could call someone to fix the doors and they said they didn't do that either. So we had explained that we would be taking money out of their bill to find someone to fix the doors. This lit a fire under someones ass and we had someone come out and fix the doors. A couple days after they had laid the bathroom flooring we discovered the toilet began leaking. After calling numerous times, RICK answered and told us that he had 'talked' to the installer and he said that he told my boss that the toilet was leaking. My boss couldn't remember ever having a conversation about that and after a while of playing he said she said we finally hung up. In the end, we will NEVER recommend Harry's Corner solely because of customer service. When we hear of friends and family and random people off the street we will strongly recommend anyone but Harry's Corner. read more

We purchased carpet from Harry's Corner Carpet of Tri County several years ago and they installed it in a hallway and master bedroom suite. It looked fine for a while but started to stretch and buckle up. They guarantee labor for life. The problem was getting them to take care of the problem. I called Rick McMan, who schedules the installation and service, and made an appointment. To make a long story short they failed to show up for 3 appointments after I moved all the furniture from the room so they could stretch the carpet into shape. They tried to cancel on the 4th appointment but finally sent someone. I will Never purchase carpet from them again. read more

This was the WORST customer service I had ever experienced! At one point they had me in tears because of the way they were talking to me. I purchased a home that the seller had Harry's Corner install new low grade carpet in. I was totally fine with the carpet itself, but the installers left a HUGE seam going straight down the center of my living room. When I initially requested this be taken care of it was still prior to closing (nothing in the home). By the time Harry's Corner got around to doing anything about it I had already moved all of my things in. Karen (the customer service manager) stated that it wasn't an install issue it was a carpet issue and they would have to make a claim through the mill. Again, I was fine with the process. She told me an inspector would be at my home at 1:00pm on the day of my appointment. I left work to be there in time. The inspector was late! When I called Harry's Corner to ask where my inspector was and when he would be there Karen started yelling at me saying that the inspector wasn't late, he was at my door and I just wouldn't answer. After the inspector arrived he asked me to show him where ALL of the seams were, NOT just the bad one. He left and I headed back to work. On my way I received a call from Karen telling me I was rude to the inspector and I told him that EVERY seam in the home was bad. When I explained to her that wasn't true she started yelling at me and telling me that they wouldn't do anything about fixing their carpet if they didn't want to. Once the claim was approved by the mill Karen called to let me know there would be paperwork for me to sign (prior to reinstall) stating that there was no damage done to my home by the installers and that I would have to waive all rights to anything being done to my walls, baseboards etc. She also stated they would not move any boxes that I may have. If they would have taken care of this there wouldn't have been any boxes because it would've been replaced prior to me moving in!! Every time I spoke with Karen (again she is the customer service manager) she would end up yelling at me and threaten me that they wouldn't replace my carpet! I ended up taking the payout from the mill in order to avoid having to EVER deal with these people again! I would NEVER recommend anyone buy anything from Harry's Carpet and I tell people about my horrible experience every chance I get so that I can spread the word of the awful customer service. read more

Do not buy carpet from Harry's Corner. We bought carpet for our whole house only to find out when they were done one of the installers stole from us. Harry's Corner is doing absolutely nothing to refund us or settle a claim. As a matter of fact they're making it seem like it's our fault. Stopped in today for the first time (and last) at Harry's Corner Carpet store.. We had been to about 4-5 carpet stores before going to Harry's Corner. So I am familiar with the normal workings and "rules" of all the stores in the local area. Plus I'm in my mid 60's so this is not my first flooring purchase by a long shot! The helpful first salesman was not getting the job done (apparently) so a senior salesman took over for him in the middle of our visit. ( I was a salesman early in my working career so I know how demoralizing this can be when it was done to me) Any way, the senior salesman was very pleasant, knowledgeable and my wife and I appreciated his years of expertise,advise and attentiveness for a while. He tried his best to sell us what would make us happy, I have no problem with the level of service. What I had a problem with came next. I wanted to take a sample of carpet home. Every carpet store in this town lets you do that...EXCEPT Harry's Corner. NO! against company policy! Not even with a deposit. Then I wanted to take a photo of the carpet description with my phone to review later (I couldn't have used the info at another carpet store for pricing because the carpet was "Harry's Corner carpet" NO! NO photos of any kind in the store! After spending an hour and a half of his time and ours I told him I just couldn't do business with this company. And we left. We used Harry's corner for both carpet (they installed) and to buy laminate flooring (DIY). The prices were fair, and the product itself is fine. However, the customer service at Harry's Corner was literally among the worst I've ever experienced in my life. They were both RUDE and DISHONEST, ordering too much quantity and then hitting us with hidden fees. I highly recommend that you shop elsewhere for your flooring. And, frankly I suspect the positive reviewer below was paid. No way that came from a real customer -- What real customer uses a goofy marketing line like "SAVE A HAT FULL"?? The detail of our experience: CARPET & INSTALLATION: We purchased a mid-grade carpet for the 2nd story of our home (approximate purchase price ~$2500). The carpet itself is good, and the installers were prompt and friendly while they were here. However, the employee who took the measurements clearly over-measured, and we were stuck with it. Even the installers stated there was a lot of extra footage ordered -- and I still have a roll of it in my basement to prove it. They mis-measured, and we got stuck paying for it. Also,we payed the extra $100 to have them move our furniture for us. After they left, I noticed large scrapes on both nightstands, two gashes on the foot board of the bed, and several scrapes on the dresser. We called the store to complain about the damage to our furniture, and their response was unapologetic. They said they would send someone out to look at it; we scheduled an appointment, and they did not show up. We rescheduled the appointment, and again they did not show up. The damage to our furniture was never corrected. LAMINATE FLOORING - We bought Shaw Laminate flooring, and we're happy with the product (approximate purchase price ~$2000). I made the mistake of letting Harry's team come out to my house to do the measurement, to tell us how much to buy. If you plan to install yourself, DO NOT let them do this - They significantly over-estimated the amount of flooring needed, and also ordered a bunch of trim pieces that we didn't need. Not only did we not need them, there was nowhere they could possibly have been used. It was an obvious tactic to get a higher sales $$. When I refused pick-up on the unnecessary items, they didn't argue, and put a credit back on my credit card. It took me a few minutes to realize they only gave me back 75% of the amount. When I questioned the amount, they explained that the 25% they kept was a "Re-Stocking" fee - If I hadn't noticed, apparently they weren't going to tell me about this. Keep in mind that this occurred when I refused pick-up, meaning the materials never left their warehouse! They wouldn't have even disclosed the fee if I hadn't ask. Pure dishonest business practice. When I expressed concern to the salesman about the fee, he deflected me by saying he couldn't do anything, and that I would have to talk to the manager -- I later found out that he WAS the manager on duty. Apparently he just didn't want to help. In summary - Harry's Corner's flooring is cheap. That's about all I can say. You had better read all the fine print, get everything in writing, and don't be surprised if they still find a way to rip you off. They are unethical and unprofessional. read more
