Went in yesterday to have to have it checked up. The doctor seems to want to blame it on variety of reasons such as bad luck and the lack of night guard which doesn't really make sense given I had no history grinding teeth. And given I spent over $10,000 on the root canals and crowns, why would I skip on a few hundred dollars of night guard if it was made clear I needed it at the time of the treatment. There's also a growing gap between the crown and my gum, potentially caused by the metal crown itself. I'm not sure why a metal crown was chosen, especially since I've been told elsewhere that they're not ideal for sensitive teeth. I recall a larger than expected gap between this crown and the neighboring tooth, and I experienced minor pain when chewing. The dentist dismissed it as normal at the time, but I wonder if this contributed to the failure. While I understand that these procedures aren't always guaranteed, I chose this practice because I believed they were specialists who could deliver superior results. The outcome has been very disappointing. What's most upsetting is the lack of empathy and accountability from the dentist and staff. Instead of offering any form of apology or compensation, they seem focused on promoting a $9,000 implant. Why do I come here again if it didn't work well the last time? Maybe it also has to do with the nurse's English. It was hard to understand her. The same goes for the doctor. The communication seems to go in circles a lot of the time. The only good service was the Asian lady at the front desk. Overall, the dentist's skills are questionable, the staff are unhelpful, and the service has not been what I would have expected that cost of tens of thousands of dollars. You get Comfort Inn service while paying for Four Seasons prices. Doesn't make sense.

On my way to UBC a few times I noticed Vancouver Dental Specialty Clinic. Being that they were specialists, I thought I can get better high quality dental care but I was concerned the fee would be more expensive. Surprisingly, I found their fee is very reasonable. Dr. Zaeimdar was very kind, knowledgable and explained to me all is needed for my teeth and gum. What was interesting to me, was that other dental options never gave me the options VDSC gave me. I decided to trust Dr. Zaeimdar and do the treatment. I believe I got the best treatment there was ALONG with a reasonable price!

I was so nervous before my appointment, I might have called them 4 times that week and not once did they dismiss me, instead, they were very understanding and helped calm my nerves. After the procedure, they made sure to call for follow ups to ensure I was doing ok. About 2.5 weeks after my extraction, I felt like something was stuck in my extraction site and i wasn't able to get rid of it. I called them and they told me to come in just the next day, did a thorough wash and did not charge me anything. I would highly recommend them for your next dentist appointment, they are very professional and warm.

I met with Dr. Sadeghi for a consultation the day of my surgery. Much to my surprise, he was a super happy and upbeat character who was quick to answer any of my questions and put my worries at ease. If I had to have them removed again, I'd definitely come back to Dr.Sadeghi! I opted to have do IV sedation which I 100% recommend! Honestly, so much less anxiety-inducing than having the freezing. Although I have no memory of how I got from the dentistry chair to the recovery room chair, I do remember my initial waking up and honestly, other than being a little groggy, it wasn't bad at all. WestCoast Oral & Maxiollofacial Surgery give you a little take home goodie-bag when you have your wisdom teeth filled with the essentials that'll make your recovery easier. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS THEY GIVE YOU! As you should with any doctor, but I feel it must be emphasized so that you limit the amount of recovery time and reduce risks of drysocket. I was back to work the follow day with minimal swelling and very little pain. I'd recommend this location to anyone!

What i didn't like is that this place is crazy busy and on my last appointment i felt my work was rushed , Dr Roshen was running between me and the patient next room, so he was trying to do two work at the same time, in fact he froze the top of my mouth (which even made me not feel my nose for hours) and ended up by not being able to finish the work, my work that was suppose to be an hour lasted more than 2 hours(I waited manytimes with tubes in my mouth while the dentist was in the other room working on someone else), I think its unprofessional for a dentist to freeze someone and then tell em "hey look I am overbooked and i wont finish the work, come back some other time" in a previous appointment the hygienist spent 45 minutes on my cleaning and told me i have to come back for the other half? I have been getting my teeth cleaned 4 times now and this is the first time ever that hygienist has told me i need two appointments for cleaning which i found odd. oh and two appointments means twice the billing:-) Its unfortunate because i liked the staff at wallcentre but I am disappointed and will be looking at my other options in the area ,

Our son has special needs which added another layer to the mix but he was completely tuned in to our sons needs which helped the difficult process go smoothly as possible. Thank you for your expertise Dr. Snowden and staff! Highly recommended specialist in our opinion!

Dr Sowden accidentally shaved off a large fragment of my jaw bone during my wisdom tooth surgery,…read moreleft it in my gums and lied about it being there. I had this fragment for 4 months before it finally worked its way out and it was severely painful and made it difficult to eat and talk. Dr. Sowden comes across as a very kind and lovely person, but my experience with his surgery was extremely unsatisfactory. I had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr Sowden in September. He had around 7 other surgeries he was doing as well that day and was very rushed on the day of my surgery. It went fine and i went home. However, two weeks after the surgery I noticed a sharp searing pain in my jawbone that made it impossible for me to touch my jaw because it hurt so much. It also felt like there was something lose in my jawbone that could be felt to the touch and clicked and moved around if you pushed on it. One of the extraction sites where I had my wisdom teeth taken out was extremely red and swollen. Infections after wisdom tooth surgery are fairly common, so we assumed it was that and went to Dr Sowden to get the "infection" cleaned. Dr Sowden performed and minimally invasive procedure to take out what he told us was an infection. He also took x rays of my mouth to make sure there was no issues with the bone. He never showed us those x-rays. He simply told us they were "fine" and sent me on my way. Three weeks later, I was still experiencing horrible pain despite irrigating and cleaning diligently everyday. We went back again. Dr Sowden and his office told us that this time my pain (the same pain that i had during my "infection") was caused by me biting my cheek. He gave me antibacterial mouthwash. But the pain never really went away. By this time it was the end of November and I was embarrassed to go back to Sowden for a fourth time about my teeth. I figured the pain was a normal side effect from surgery that everyone had when they touched their jawbone. Until I noticed a foreign object in my mouth one day in January, right where I had my wisdom teeth removed. The truth was that I never had an infection. The foreign object protruding from my gums was a large fragment of my jawbone that had been shaved off due to DENTIST ERROR during the surgery. It emerged from my gums naturally and continued to emerge until I was able to pull it out myself (I wasnt going back to Sowden for extraction after he did nothing to help me in the first place). We phoned Dr Sowden's office to ask what it could be because it was sharp and hurt my gums. I was having trouble talking towards the end because the fragment was protruding so much. They told us not to come in. The lady said I could deal with it on my own and that it was only a tiny fragment. This woman never looked at my mouth. She had no proof that it was a small fragment, which it wasnt. The bone piece is the size of a nickel. I've attached pictures of it in my mouth and after I removed it myself. Once I removed the fragment, the pain stopped entirely. I never would have had this fragment or the four months of severe tooth pain I endured if Dr Sowden had done the surgery correctly in the first place. I never would have had it for so long if he had shown us the x rays and been honest about what he saw. And after all this, they dismissed us and refused to even see me to fix the dental problem that Sowden himself caused. I dont recommend Dr Sowden to anyone. They have way too many clients and not enough time or care to do a proper job on them.

Rather than checking the same X-rays first, he did a new set of X-rays and this incurred an unnecessary charge. The receipt I then received had incomplete information so it was difficult to file a claim. Returned today for a new consult. I arrived 5 mis prior, waited 20 minutes at reception and then another 25 mins in a chair. If I had not said something about waiting for 45 minutes, I could still be waiting. No one alerted me that Dr. Birdy was running late and so I just sat there wasting my time. I get emergencies, but the decent thing is to acknowledge the delays. However...Dr. Birdi's work was far less than satisfactory for me. Years ago, he did a gum graft. The healing process was painful and I am left with what looks like a big lump of bubble gum. More recently, twice, he tried to do an implant. The implant did not work. In the process, he sewed my gum to my cheek, which resulted in excruciating pain. When the implant then failed, he removed it. He then did some bone grafting, but after several weeks, the wound would not heal. I sought a second opinion. The new perio removed bone pieces from the wound, and within days the wound then healed . The new perio has since done a gum graft that was far less painful, and the graft on that side looks like a natural gumline and not a blob of gum. The new perio also had to reconstruct my vestibule, which Dr. Birdi had annihilated when he sewed my cheek to my gum (something my dentist said he did not understand). Finally, the new perio recently did a new implant. There was virtually no pain and the healing went without incident. I am happy to read good reviews from other patients, but feel a duty to post the facts of my case, which were not at all successful and involved months of pain and additional courses of antibiotics and oral prednisone.
