I had came into this shop a few months ago and had a terrible experience and never wrote about it…read moreuntil now as I have recently had another. I was shopping in The Park a few months ago, on a Thursday evening around 7.30. During my trip I had purchased a game from Smyth's and put it in the front pockets of my Jumper before proceeding to go into the computers department of Harvey Norman. So my friend and I were browsing around the shop for a couple of minutes, before noticing that we wore getting a lot of stares by the sales staff around the shop. One approached us and asked us if we required any assistance in which I replied "no thanks, we're just having a look around". Which is fine until as we are browsing and we notice that the staff, and what also seemed to be the store manager to who I to have learned is Colin Curtis, are quite obviously following us around and keeping a very very close eye on my friend and I. At this stage the shop was quite empty and I start to feel very intimidated about how the members of staff where around me so we started to walk towards the exit out of the computers department where the store managers was standing at the security fences, waiting for us to pass. We obviously pass it with no alarm, feeling very uneasy about the whole situation. As I'm walking away I turn back towards the store manager and say, from about 10 feet away, "is there a problem?". He walks towards me and says "what's in your pocket", so with no hesitation I take out the game and the receipt from Smyth's and say "I purchased that in Smyth's before I came in here". His only reply was "Oh sorry we taught you had one of our games in your pocket" and proceeded to walk back to the store" I have honestly never felt so embarrassed in my life. I understand to a certain extent why they taught what they did as it was showing through my front pocket but that is NOT how you should handle a situation where you think somebody is stealing. You never accused me of stealing but I would have preferred to be accused than surrounded and stared at. That is not how you treat your "customers" Harvey Norman. Luke

She listened to what I wanted and showed me an array of mattresses and bed frames until I found the ones that suited my needs. I felt under no pressure and left very happy. I will definitely shop here again.

In December 2024 we went to Carpet Express, Omni. Our reason for engaging with them was that we…read morewanted to keep the business local. We ordered wooden floors for a number of rooms for an apartment as well as two mattresses. The process went smoothly, we picked the flooring, and it was put down as agreed. HOWEVER, within a number of months the floor started to bulge and we immediately contacted Carpet Express. The representative visited after several telephone calls/emails and for some reason indicated that the issue was as a result of moisture even though the bulge in the floor was about 12 ft away from any window. They advised that they would not fix the floor unless we paid 120 euro as the issue occurred just after the guarantee time of 3 months. We contacted them again multiple times by emails (6 in total), eventually a member of the team (Leo Martin) reverted to advise that they would organise to trim the expansion, so we were asked to agree a date. Post multiple further emails no response was ever issued to agree a date/time to trim the wood. My husband also called into the shop at Omni and was promised by another member of the team (Conor) that they would review (he agreed that they would fix the issue without charge if there was no dampness, if there was dampness that they would fix it but we would pay for it) - no follow up was forthcoming even though we contacted Conor Martin by text. The customer service for this company is non existent and I would never ever engage them to do any work in the future for us nor would I ever recommend their services. We are absolutely disgusted with the way we have been treated.

This place tried to charge me 7 euro for the most boring of door stops. And they almost got away…read morewith it. I walked into this shop hoping to buy a nice tea cosy, the place is jammers with cool stuff. Things like chopping boards that fold up for easy scooping into a pot, and spatulas with a bump to keep the spatula head off the kitchen table and thus keeping the table clean. These are really good ideas, and you look at the prices and think that they're expensive, but maybe they're good value... Anyway, after a few hours of unsuccessful search, I pull a member of their staff away from her Facebook to ask where Tea Cosies can be found. They have a lot of tea cosies, it has to be said, I spent a good 20 minutes deciding between the cosy shaped like a hen or the bottom up design for €20 In the end, function over fashion, the bottom up design won (see photo). I then remembered I needed a doorstop for the house. I found a bucket'o'doorstops and picked one up, no excitement needed here! At the checkout my bill came to €27, which was €7 for the doorstop. I was like "ok, that's fair", compared to this €20 tea cosy, that seems like the going rate. But thankfully I managed to cop myself on to this absolute ripoff. They are actually trying to charge me €7 for a piece of plastic which does nowt but use friction to resist the door's gravity... So I just went to Dunnes and got one for €0.50 instead!. Anyway, this story only justifies a 2 star location, but they go down to a 1 star shop in my opinion because of their TERRIBLE hours. Stock closes at 5:30, and is closed all Sunday. Suddenly I understand why their prices have to be so high.
