They've made improvements to parking and the rooms, but the café and food options still need some work. The check-in process for day procedures could also use improvement. It seems they are updating the lobby area as well. The staff is attentive and does their best, and I had a great experience with the ER staff during my last visit. However, the follow-up care after the ER visit could be better. Overall, this hospital is one of the better options in the Austin area. After reading others' reviews and their experiences, I've realized that many of the issues are common across hospitals in the US medical system, not just this one. I am glad we have the doctors of St David's South on my father's medical team. They have given us 16 and counting bonus years.

My mother was brought to the ER after suffering from severe diarrhea for two weeks. At the time of…read moreadmission, she was extremely weak and unable to retain any liquids. Despite her visible dehydration and the difficulty staff had establishing an IV, she remained in the ER for approximately four hours without receiving any IV fluids. Before being discharged, she suffered a physical setback, yet she was still sent home. The following day, we were notified that she tested positive for C. diff. It is deeply concerning that a patient in her condition, with what turned out to be a serious infection, was brushed off and discharged while still thirsty and weak. We now have to wait several days to see her primary care physician for follow-up care that should have been initiated or supported by the emergency team. I am disappointed by the lack of effort and the dismissive attitude we encountered during this visit. I would appreciate a review of her case and an explanation as to why standard interventions, such as administering saline fluids, were not provided given her symptoms. We can do better for all patients.

I was not only sexually harassed by another patient. I was dismissed and it was blamed on my clothes and I was told to hide. This even happened in front of a social worker and nothing was addressed. After my 29-year-old son survived a near-fatal car accident and was discharged from the ICU with an…read moreincredibly complicated medical situation, we were overwhelmed trying to navigate daily medical care, trauma, and recovery. Jason Spees at Victory Medical became the steady, compassionate presence that carried us through some of the hardest weeks of our lives. What sets Jason apart is not only his medical knowledge, but his humanity. He spent an incredible amount of time helping my son process the trauma of nearly dying, difficult diagnoses, and the fear that comes with an uncertain recovery. He never rushed us. He listened. He cared deeply. When my son experienced dangerous reactions to medications prescribed elsewhere, Jason stepped in immediately, even seeing us on the weekend and coordinating with other providers to ensure my son received safe, thoughtful care. Although my son is an adult and we live in different states, Jason honestly told me my son would need me there for at least six weeks to help guide his recovery. He was absolutely right. Through complete chaos, Jason maintained a calm, grounded bedside manner that brought peace to our entire family. It genuinely scares me to think about what my son's recovery experience would have been without him. Victory Medical is incredibly fortunate to have someone as compassionate and dedicated as Jason Spees on their team.

Depending on the day and he is working, you can either have a five star treatment in the urgent…read morecare or a zero stars and it is complete incompetence and it seems like nobody wants to be there. I am an extremely dehydrated type one diabetic I called ahead to see if I could get IV fluids. They said yes I came in one day and they were amazing. They immediately hooked me up to IV and started a sailing drip. The doctor was wonderful and told me if I was still feeling this way the next day I could come in they close at seven I asked even if I come in late. They'll see me and he told me if someone comes in at 6:59. They will see them even though they close at 7 PM the next day rolls around and I'm still feeling terrible so I decided to go in again. I show up around 5:30 and the doctor immediately lets me know that they do not know how to do IV fluids. They are not trained and they do not know how to do them whatever that is fine. I paid the co-pay and I just leave and they put in prescriptions for me to pick up at a pharmacy, but this time they put it to the wrong pharmacy after leaving I get a notification saying that my prescription is ready at the wrong pharmacy. I call victory medical to ask them to correct their mistake in fulfill the medication at the pharmacy. They told me all the doctors have left. None of the doctors are in the building anymore. They have all gone home including the doctor that saw me 10 minutes prior and it is currently around 6 PM at that time therefore that is an urgent care with zero doctors on hand and pretty much blatantly lied to me telling me they would always be a doctor on hand but clearly there isn't infuriating. I'm so disappointed in them. I feel mislead. It seemed like the doctor did not want to be there and just the second I left they decided to go home as well. It seemed like they just tried to rush me out the door as quickly as possible.

I was a patient at the north location for over 18 months and the last 6 mont6hs I was never able to…read moreget my correct prescriptions filled EVEN AFTER I asked them to check doctors note for new dosage. Thats 6 months out of 7. When I checked their facebook page I saw that the staff posts often that they are being paid overtime to watch movies with the screenshot including popcorn and a soda can. NOT PROFESSIONAL and in my opinion someone in the back is practicing medicine without a license instead of giving me what the dr recently ordered, just refilling the old prescription. THAT SUCKS So even though the staff I saw was very nice, I don't need nice, I need competent. So I switched to the south location. I was promised a visit with the doctor for my first visit since I was having medication issues. Instead a very harried and hurried p.a. shows up obviously not willing to take the time to actually hear out my answer to her first question "what brings you here today?" Interrupted in every answer, I finally stopped talking, and once she was making eye contact with me, I told her to just ask yes or no questions since she obviously didn't have the time for anything longer than a one word answer. At that point she apologized and said she would listen. Even with her subsequent interruptions she began to listen and respond more professionally. She assured me I would see the doctor within two days and penciled me in for an appt two days later at 1. When I went out to the front desk and requested a card for the appt time, the receptionist Lisa mind you she is in her 50's gave me a SNORT and an EYEROLL and told me the dr was booked ahead for 6 weeks. After instruction by the p.a. she relented and I got the card with time at 1:00. That day I left my home just before 12, and sadly an accident on 35 had traffic stopped in place for more than a half hour. At 1:13 I called the office to let them know I was stuck in traffic, the receptionist Lisa me not to bother as the next patient was already there and would be given my time slot instead. I said please give me next appt available with the doctor and she then said you can come in at 3. That appointment was with another p.a. and not a doctor so I would still not be able to resolve medication issues UNTIL I SAW THE DOCTOR 6 weeks later. So would I recommend this comedy of errors to someone seeking competent medical practice, a Doctor to be seen by when warranted, and polite and helpful staff? NOT HARDLY. I brought receipts for my complaint, sadly I did not have my camera out to document Lisa's SNORT and EYEROLL. Steer clear, unless you like impediments to good health care placed in your path.
