I have a commercial account at Sherwin Williams on Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge. I bought some…read morepaint yesterday and returned at 10:20am today to get another gallon and separately, a pint of different paint. I was in a hurry and the only customer in the store. There were three teammates on duty. I explained what I need including handing them a quart that I purchased yesterday and indicated that I wanted a gallon of this paint color...and provided the specs on the quart. I indicated that I was in a hurry and asked if he could knock it out in about 10 minutes. The guy said...give me 15 minutes which was fine. I returned in 15 minutes to find that nothing had happened other than they determined that they were out of the quart that I needed. I said, please get it for me today and I'll take the gallon and be on my way. The response I got was that we have been busy and the gallon is at the bottom of a pallet. "Our printer is broken and we have been working on this". I explained that I had to take my wife to a doctor's appointment and was in a hurry. I got no sense of urgency, no apology for the delay. If you were writing a case study on how to provide terrible service, this would be a great example. Next, the guy asked me if the gallon of paint was satin or semi-gloss. I told him that I brought the can in and the other fellow that helped me wrote everything down. The guy said that it shows an S on the slip but I'm not sure what he meant. I responded...so you want me to go back to my truck and get the can again...the answer was yes so I did it. In any event, what was going to take 15 minutes took about 40 minutes for one gallon of paint when there were not other customers there...they did get a call or two. I asked how soon they can get the quart that I needed sent over and was told a couple of hours. That was about 10:55am. I was asked for my phone number and I said that I had provided it to the other guy...so I gave it to him and departed with the understanding that they would call me when the quart arrived. I never got a call back so at 4pm, I called to see if I could pick up the quart and he said it is not here yet...five hours later when I was told a couple of hours. I asked for the latest ETA and he said later this afternoon...and asked for my phone number. I told him that I had twice provided my phone number but did so a third time. it is now 4:15 and I'm waiting on a call. JUST TERRIBLE SERVICE...with the old store associates a year ago, the service was great...it has gone downhill fast.

I paid $25 or so at Siegen and the store on Perkins today charged me $76!!!! That is unacceptable especially since he originally told me it would be around $40 for the gallon. When I asked him about the price he said the can I chose was higher, but never mentioned that after he originally quoted $40. The prices are all over the place and I feel I was taken advantage of. They had already mixed the paint so I felt obligated to buy it. Never again at this store and probably never again at Sherwin Williams.

My local store is Jones Creek, but they told me if I'd go to the Choctaw Store that I could get it, and they could even custom tint it for me. Even though the storefront was closed due to COVID, the gentleman who helped me at Choctaw brought out color samples and was patient as I looked them over to select the perfect one. I was able to get my custom color tinted Limewash within a week or so and I love it. I reached out just today via email to get another product and was emailed right back by James Doucet who said he'd take care of it for me. This is your neighborhood business level customer service! I needed an extension nozzle to connect a hose to the faucet, to connect the pressure washer, for work. See completely confusing! But there were two people that were able to guide me to what I needed. If you have a paint job to get done at home, this is your destination. Sherwin Williams is the best…read morequality paint you can find and although you can buy it at Lowe's, the folks at the SW store are WAY more helpful. The display of color swatches is awesome (and somewhat overwhelming), but the staff can really help you select colors that would work for you. And if you need to match paint, you can bring in a sample and they will figure out the blend of paints needed to make it match. I had to do this when replacing trim around my door and they matched the paint perfectly. I do wish they offered smaller sample sizes. We tested out around 20 different colors when bought our last house and although I would've loved to do everything at SW, I ended up going to Lowe's for some of the samples just because they offered a smaller, cheaper size. Lowe's offers pint-size samples while SW only offers quarts. Although I haven't tried it, Sherwin Williams now offers free in-home video consultations to help select a paint color. I didn't realize how challenging and stressful picking paint colors can be, so this is definitely something I'd consider doing on our next paint job. While it is more expensive than other paint brands, I highly recommend SW for any paint job. High quality paint, great service, and easy to get in and out!
