Wow, they came recommended from the local Aluma trailers dealer, Croft in Olathe. On my way back from Sturgis, a driver didn't see a semi-tire tread and hit it. It launched into my trailer and ripped the fender half off. I am so glad it didn't touch my HD Limited Ultra! I took it to them and they had it done in a couple of hours and did a superb job. Welding Aluminum takes talent, I can weld, but it's been decades, so take it to a pro. They did an incredible job and it was inexpensive. The crack went through the fender, through the bracket & halfway through the trailer spar. They fixed it all, and reinforced it with another piece of aluminum and double welded everything, on both sides. It was only $60! Thanks guys and especially the receptionist! read more

Don't waste your time! No customer service, no care for customers and no responsibility. I set an appointment one week early for a small trailer repair. Had to take the morning off work to hook up my trailer and get it there at opening time only to be told they're too busy, take it away and bring it back in a week and a half. I reminded them I had an appointment and they said it's not their fault as they had someone out sick a couple of day- 2 days and it put them behind 1 1/2 weeks? I asked why they couldn't notify their appointments before they arrived only to be turned away but they did not care. They repeated.... it's not their fault. Noting is anyone's fault anymore. I was amazed that nobody holds themselves accountable anymore, but that wasn't true as a welder across town got me in ASAP. I get it, welders are in short supply and business is readily available. So, those that don't care about service can jack people around all they want without any negative consequences to their business. So, don't waste your time with Harrison Machine Shop and Welding. You'll not be important to them. read more

The welding shop is great. The machine shop is awful - if you don't have a penis don't expect to get anything done by Bruce - he just cain't figure it out for ya if ya don't have a penis.....wow. Took the job that Bruce just couldn't figure out after having my materials for over two months (with no plans to call me...) down the road a quarter of a mile to Kauffmann Machine Shop - not only could they do the job but it didn't seem like we were putting a man on the moon to do it - imagine that! read more

As a lay person in the general public, I've never had the need of a machinist or machine shop. But, unfortunately I recently needed the help of a competent company and person to lathe / modify a component of an aftermarket car part that did not fit properly. It was an exceptionally small job - a 1/2 inch wide T-spacer that was 1/8 inch too thick. Bruce was fantastic and upon inspection provided a slightly different recommendation that would retain the original geometry of the part once installed. It would have been easy, and understandable, if they had declined the business given how small of a job this was (both time and revenue) and how busy their shop looked. But they didn't. They understood my predicament, treated me with respect, and took the job anyway. They had it done in under an hour and only cost $15. That's why I appreciate and prefer to use small, family owned and run businesses like Harrison's. read more

Harrison Machine Shop and Welding is a - machining - welding shop, not an engineering firm that will do design, drawings and planning for you. I am an inventor with two propositional patents. I have worked with Bruce and Monte for the last 5 years. I have designed both large commercial sized, small precise parts for a clutch, which they have built from my specifications and designs. Like all business's they make money from producing parts in high quantity. If you are building one off prototypes, like me, the cost will be little higher than the mass produced production models. They will build with the tightest of tolerance and will take the time to figure out your end concept. Just have your drawings in hand and go talk to Bruce. Production time is around 2-4 weeks, depending on the time of the year and size of the project. read more

This place sucks. I needed a shelf made for my work installing phones in correctional facilities, and Monte Harrison (the son of the owner), kept coming up with reasons why I wouldn't be able to get what I ordered. I had to come up with a design and draft it myself, because Monte was so lazy and he had such a bad attitude. It's a wonder they're able to stay in business. Plus, when you go in there to get your order, you have to walk through a big welding area, which doesn't seem very safe what with all the sparks flying, the fumes, and the noise. Whenever I called to check on my order, Monte always had an excuse for why shit wasn't getting done. Very unprofessional. read more

Several years ago I had them do some custom welding on my boat trailer. The work was first-rate, done fast by a friendly employee, and the cost was reasonable. I personally like the fact that you can be "around the action" to observe and learn, and not confined to a sterile waiting room behind a bunch of warning signs.
