I met Harrison on a muggy July morning. I was decked out in my finest, frantic DIY painting cargos, complete with duct-tape dishrag knee padding. If we could give him more stars, we would. He was everything -- and then some -- that we needed in a realtor. First, he understood that this was a transaction about people, not just about a building. He talked to us for a good bit about who we were, what was motivating us, and what we needed out of the realtor relationship, etc. before he started talking about the house. That reflects his approach: people first. He's very personable, excited about his work, and he knows the city and the market. What would make the most difference to people when they were liking at our house. The person he uses for photography/video is excellent! *Everyone* commented on how great the pictures made our house look. He did a lot with social media and outreach to other realtors. Put it all together and we had about 100 people go through our house in 5 days and had 5 very solid offers in less than a week. He gave us the information to make a wise pricing decision, which had a huge effect on our success as well. His assistant Kendall is so on top of things, patient and helpful. Love her! Beware of your interactions with this realtor. I am sharing this review now even though the shady transaction that took place with him happened in 2018. My husband and I were under contract to purchase a home that he and his partner were the listing agents for in NE DC. We were extremely excited about the home as it was in Washington DC and it had a beautiful big yard that was fenced in. The fence was at least 5 feet tall. The fence around the property would've led any reasonable buyer to believe that the land inside the fence was theirs to modify over the years. We put our earnest money down - $20,000 - we had an inspection. Things were moving along smoothly when out of nowhere the title company, Monarch Title, sent us a location drawing survey. When I opened the survey it showed easements across a large part of the fenced in lawn. I decided to pick up the phone and call the land surveyor whose name was stamped on the survey, we had a discussion and he did in fact confirm that there were easements - within the fenced in area - that would prevent my husband and I from building a pool or modifying the land to our liking (we envisioned a pool and maybe a bit more). With that we wanted out of the deal. We feel like it should have been made clear to us that the land inside of the 5 foot + tall fence had easements on it. When Harrison made it clear that the side he represented (the seller) wouldn't be returning our earnest money in full I consulted a lawyer and the lawyer said that the line in the GCAAR contract, specifically the title paragraph that says "Title may be subject to commonly acceptable easements, covenants, conditions and restrictions..." was what protected Harrison and the side he represented and what made it legal for that side to not return our money. Harrison* and the side he represented kept $10,000 PLUS a $500 Keller Williams Fee. I'm writing this review because every single realtor that I have spoken to since this happened has said that Harrison, the listing agent, had a moral obligation as a realtor to reveal that those easements existed inside of that fence before we signed on the dotted line. Every single realtor has said that if any reasonable buyer would have walked through the gate, seen the fence around the yard and expected that the land was theirs, Harrison had an obligation to be honest and let us know that the easements existed. I would steer clear of this agent and I'd steer clear of the title company, Monarch title. I found Harrison to be dishonest. He'd likely say that he could have kept all of our earnest money but if he had any sense of right and wrong he wouldn't have kept any of it. *To be clear I understand that Harrison did not himself pocket the money, the seller did. However, Harrison knows that he should have disclosed those easements to us. read more

Harrison was incredibly helpful for me in my house hunt. I had very strict requirements for a house and location. Harrison was able to meet and exceed my expectations. He found a home for me, however the seller and his real estate agent were very difficult to deal with. They held our offer for days fishing for better offers and eventually agreed to our price. An agreement was made, however, on the day of the settlement, the seller reneged on fixes for the house. Some repairs were not made, while others were completely ignored. The seller refused to make the promised changes and Harrison spent hours trying to rectify the situation. Harrison bargained for some seller credits, and everything has worked out for us.
