CentralX Contracting - Bathrooms

They got us back up and running and patched our ceiling in time for a holiday party. The guys are super friendly and very knowledgeable! We then reached out when we were ready to move forward with a complete bathroom gut job and walk in shower. They listened to what we wanted, completed the design work and gave us options for tiles and fixtures along with a budget to work with. Their work is definitely an investment but so worth it! Nick talked us through what we should consider and then kept the communication throughout the entire process. He gave us a plan for the week and followed through. Every person on this team is nice, personable and knowledgeable in their craft. We trust them COMPLETELY with our home and any house projects

They were great about giving a thorough and fact-based, on-site estimate; able to roll with it when circumstances changed ("You wanted us to use your leftover paint on the door outside -- did you know that's indoor paint? It's okay, we can get outdoor paint in that color, just wanted to check that you didn't mean for us to use the wrong paint."); able to make suggestions mid-project ("The color on your front door, we were thinking it might look great around the garage door we just fixed up. Come see what you think."); able to expand the contract in small ways ("Clean that clogged gutter? Sure, we can bring our ladder tomorrow.") and large ("Um, okay, that indoor paint that was on your door, did the gang that painted you before use that same paint on the shutters? Because your shutters don't match your front door now. Leave it like that, or add the shutters to the paint job? Because we can get more paint, no problem!") They fixed up our kitchen ceiling (which showed where there had been leakage before, plus a large hole where repairs had been needed for the leak) to the point that it's impossible to tell where the damage was--the former hole in the ceiling is now invisible. They replaced the front porch railing (rotted in a couple of the posts and part of the railing) with vinyl parts that won't rot or need much maintenance, yet looks like the old railing. They took off old wallpaper in our guest bath and painted the walls beautifully (moving the toilet as needed, something we had not anticipated but was obvious after they started--they made it sound like no big deal). They put up new outside lighting and cleaned up the area around the new lights so there's no way to tell these are replacements for old rusty junk. Besides the great workmanship, we enjoyed how much the guys took pride in their work--they genuinely were very pleased with how well everything worked out. "Would you hire this company again?" Already have! We're contracting with them to help prepare for a new gas/electric stove. The company that sold us the new stove told us we would have to hire someone to run a gas line; someone else to upgrade the electric; and someone else to modify the counter area to fit the new stove. Instead, we're hiring CentralX, who will do it all.

Swartz Kitchens & Baths - shoddy work by swartz

We bought a bathroom vanity and cabinet from them which were beautiful. We returned to order a…read moretubshower, fixtures and shower door. Since the item was so large, we asked for it to be delivered which was an 80.00 added fee. We told the saleswoman the width and depth of the shower that we wanted (having no idea that the base of the shower could be three inches high or 9 inches high). The sample tub shower on the floor had a 3 inch base, which is what we wanted as we did not want to have to 'step up into' the shower. The saleswoman did not inform us that there were two sizes of thresholds. The shower arrived with the 9 inch threshold. Our contractor did not notice the 9 inch base until after we had brought the shower into the second floor bath through the wall of our house as it would not fit through the doorway. The wall was already sealed back up when it was noticed. However the shower door that also came with the shipment was sized to fit a shower with a 3 inch threshold. So the shower doors rose 5 inches higher than the top of the tub shower. We also ordered the door in Polished Nickel. All of the hardware was Polished nickel. My fault for not looking at the receipt after we ordered; the hardware was Polished Nickel but the door was ordered in Brushed Nickel. Our contractor made the shower door work by building blocks between the door and wall, but the shower still looks out of place. When I called and spoke with the saleswoman she initially tried to blame our contractor for not reading the schematics correctly. Then she asked if we purchased the shower doors from Swartz. (Of course we did) When I asked for a possible discount on the faucets that we still needed for the vanity, she offered a very small discount (we got them at Lowes for way less than her offer with discount) She did not even offer an apology for the rather huge mix-up. Nor did she offer me the opportunity to speak with a manager about the issue. Nor did she seem to care at all about her failure to check her own measurements when ordering the shower doors to fit the tub-shower. So I wrote this review, which is a shame because they do have lovely items.

We were…read morelooking for a company to help us renovate our powder room and our kitchen and refinish the hardwood flooring in our entryway and dining room. We asked some friends and were recommended Ebersole. They were very responsive, and we quickly had a meeting set up. Through that discussion, the project that initially seemed overwhelming to us became manageable. It was a very collaborative process - we discussed all of our options, collaborated on ideas, and created a vision that matched what we were looking to achieve. We agreed to move forward with the project, and within just a few weeks, we were choosing all of the items that would be a part of our project. From the quartz countertops and farmhouse sink to flooring and tile backsplash, and much more, Ebersole was there to help us each step of the way. When construction started, we were impressed with the professionalism and courtesy of our installers. They went out of their way to minimize the inconvenience of a renovation, while working meticulously to ensure everything was installed seamlessly. Our project was finished faster than we expected, and we could not be happier with the results. They even went the extra mile with an unexpected plumbing issue. We now have a beautiful new kitchen, powder room, and hardwood flooring. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else looking to have some work done in their home. When we are ready for our next project, we will be reaching out to Ebersole. Thank you to Jeff and the entire team at Ebersole!

Everyone that worked on the project (and I mean everyone) was helpful, informative, easy to talk to, and incredibly good at what they do. We couldn't be happier with how the bathrooms all turned out and will absolutely be working with Ebersole in the future if we ever need another bathroom or the kitchen redone and will be recommending them to any of our friends and family in the area that may be interested in that kind of work in the future. Excellent work everyone and thanks so much for all the care you put in to your craft!

He is incredibly knowledgeable and always helped point us in the right direction. He stayed on budget and made sure we understood the ramifications of the decisions we were making. We have three kids so didn't want spend a ton, he worked with us to keep things reasonable but also made sure it looked appealing aesthetically and was functional for our desired needs. He also helped us design the layout which was crutch since we had literally no idea what we wanted when we started. We built our house 10 years ago and the builder was not the best (to say the least). Eric helped fix several issues that likely would have caused us pain down the road. Our basement has been done for about a year now and there is not a single problem we have had. It still looks brand new. He really makes sure every detail is perfect before moving on to the next part of construction. The other thing that really struck me about Eric is whenever we went to locations to choose finishing (floors, cabinets, the stone yard for our countertops), those businesses spoke incredibly highly of Eric and his work ethic/finished product. I thought this spoke to his character more then anything else and was refreshing to feel. He is honest and got the job done on time. It's clear he takes immense pride in his work. If you want the job done right, the first time - choose Pavone. We seriously LOVE our basement and we now spend a ton of family time enjoying it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ERIC PAVONE!

Mark and his team were very accommodating and aware of our needs so as not to totally upend our lives. The finished product exceeded our expectations, looks great and was worth the cost and temporary inconvenience. Because it was almost a total rebuild we needed Mark's opinion and guidance with several aspects of the project. We're not the experts but he sure is! He was happy to help whenever asked and we're glad we did. He is a true professional and was very helpful with some of the tough decisions and details that really made the final product stand out. We also had him install hardwood flooring and replace windows. All good there too! From what I've heard in researching remodeling contractors Mark is one of the best in managing the project from beginning to end. He stays on top of the details and keeps you informed. I fully endorse Colebrook Construction and appreciate their craftsmanship.

Mark offered suggestions that the first two companies did not even think of and offered a better price. We completely gutted the kitchen and added sliding glass doors. Like any remodeling project on an older house we ran into our share of "unknowns" but Mark worked with us and was quite reasonable about the costs to correct things that had to be addressed. We loved the finished project and were quite pleased with all of the workers. In 2012 we replaced an existing sunroom and remodeled the adjoining family room as well. Both rooms were completely gutted and the sun room had new windows and new walls installed. Again, we loved the finished project and were quite pleased with the workers. In April 2014, a fire at a neighbors home spread to ours and our home was damaged as well. Luckily, our previously remodeled rooms were not affected. A restoration company offered to do the clean-up and reconstruction, but we called on Colebrook Construction to do the major repairs. Mark worked with us and the insurance company. Colebrook Construction repaired a fire damaged wall, installed siding, roofing, and replaced a burnt down fence. They also did interior painting, drywall repairs, carpet replacement and replaced insulation in our wall and attic. After the fire repairs were completed we also had Colebrook remodel our laundry/powder room and foyer in June 2014. Those projects included new ceramic tile floors, paint, baseboard heater replacements, and a new toilet and vanity/sink in the powder room. We also replaced an old wrought iron railing with a new wooden one. Again we were very pleased with the job that was done and all the workers Colebrook used.
