We had an absolutely terrible experience with Barnett. We had our sump pump replaced with a larger…read moreone and a drain installed in our Bilco stairs. Barnett missed the first appointment we had, then tried to bump the reschedule -- but we had flooring already contracted, so that wasn't an option. They eventually came out, and the first crew was pretty OK. They jackhammered out the foundation where everything would need to go. The second day and third days were done by a different crew. They came after they were supposed to, ordered pizza (and kindly left the leftovers and garbage sitting in our basement after knocking off for the night), and then proceeded to do terrible work. In addition to taking longer than they predicted (which was mostly a problem because, as mentioned, we had other contracts redoing the flooring), we also had to have the flooring contractors redo the concrete the Barnett team did in the basement, as the Barnett missed the join with the rest of floor by half an inch in places (which would have broken our new flooring when we walked on it). The Barnett team ALSO neglected to hook up the discharge from the HVAC and water softener back to the sump pump, where they originally ran before Barnett put the new one in. We noticed and fixed the water softener one that night, but didn't notice the water softener until a month later after it just ran onto the basement floor at night. Needless to say, we did not call Barnett to remedy that. To top it off, when we asked for a partial refund to at least cover the costs of the flooring contractors' concrete work (which looked amazing, by the way), they agreed and then neglected to ever give it to us. A single star, but only because Yelp doesn't allow for zero.

I live in a very well to do neighborhood and unfortunately, these guys will look up house values and charge accordingly so while some neighborhoods will get $10k decks, not mine. If I was living in DC suburbs then they'd charge us $50k for the deck. I got the PVC Aztek material with metal posts. The guys did the job in 2 days. I was worried when I saw scuffs on my new deck the day after install, but Luke came to buff them out. With Aztek, you have to be very careful about scratching the deck with furniture so I've yet to put anything on my deck! We rarely eat out there anyways. We're not outdoorsy people.
