Biilt, took the job, and I couldn't be happier. During their inspection it was discovered that there was some rotted wood to the original overhang. The house is old, really old, so this didn't come as a surprise. The Biilt crew was able rebuild the entire overhang and at a reasonable price. Construction, roofing, even clean up, they did it all, and their staff were polite and willing to work with me though the project. Cody, Aaron and the rest of the Biilt team did a fantastic job. We had a master suite added on, including laundry, closet space, and a full bath. First and foremost - they were on budget and on time FOR EVERYTHING. I had heard so many horror stories from friends who had contract work done, and I was shocked at how smoothly everything went and how responsive everyone at BiiLT was. There of course were issues. There always are - but Brent was always there to walk us through what was going on and ensure things didn't get off pace. Were I to do any work like this again - I would call them first without looking anywhere else. We even had issues with a neighbor who was just a pain during the process. Brent intervened and just handled everything. And the addition? My only regret is not doing it sooner. It is beautiful. I love my new master suite. I have never had the opportunity to live in new construction, and 4 months into living in this room, I still love it!

They did not start the construction on the project until April when the deck was removed. It is now mid September and I'm still waiting for the deck to be rebuilt. A few of the subcontractors have been great. A few have not. For the ones that are not, I keep getting excuses as to why they don't show up on site. Currently the deck guys have so many jobs going on that I haven't seen them in almost 2 weeks. I chose BLM because I thought they would be the best choice but if the subs have so many jobs in the works and don't finish one before starting the next then how is this responsible project management?

Even after months of waiting, BLM still did not have some of the key supplies that were needed, which would cause even more delays for me and my family. After our 4th, and final, walk-through, I had to ask BLM to leave my property.

I paid Jeff half up front (1400.00) Jeff stated in the contract: Tear off roof of rear house secondary, not primary Install new plywood where necessary Install new coilstock Install new fiberboard Install new rubber Glue down Tear out rear wall of bathroom Replace with new drywall Finish work included mudding and paint Put new ceiling tiles in damaged areas in bathroom Jeff is the owner of the company, so I figured I was going to get excellent workmanship. On the day he was supposed to start (8-28-12) the roof, he arrived 2 hours late. I was not at home at the time, but my wife was. Jeff started on the roof, then had to leave within 15 minutes , because he had stated to my wife that the supplies had come in and he had to go and get them. He came back 2 hours later to start on the roof (around 1:30). By the time I had gotten home (5:00), Jeff and his employee were almost done, but at that time I did not have the opportunity to check the work. I did ask how he was going to connect the rubber roof to the primary roof. He stated he would lay it up under the shingles and flash. After Jeff had finished , he came down and stated that the costs ran over and he needed more money. I gave him another 1000.00 for him to finish what he had started (big mistake). He was supposed to come back on wednesday to finish the job. He never came. I gave his secretary a call but only got an answering machine. Jeff's secretary called on thursday, apologizing and stating jeff had been sick and promised he would be there on friday. In the interim, I had my neighbor come over . He owns several properties and I value his knowledge with houses. He stated to me that Jeff did not tie down the back end of the rubber roof, it was just flapping in the wind. The side of the house where the roof was rotting had not been replaced and where the roof was hanging off the end, my neighbor showed me that it looked like he never took the original roof off the house, he did not tie the rubber roof to the primary roof correctly and there was no flashing to be found, he layed the excess rubber that hung over the roof into the gutter and did not tie that down correctly. Several areas were cracking open, due to not enough glue, or the incorrect glue. All the bricks i had on the roof to hold the tarp down were thrown to the ground and were broken in my yard. These were 50 pound blocks that were in good condition and could have been used, but are now broken into little pieces, and they were not cleaned up. On Friday, Jeff was supposed to be at the house around 9am. I took the day off so i could show Jeff the problems and discuss with him what he needed to do. Well, again, he never showed. I called the secretary again, and she apologized and assured he would be here on saturday. Saturday came. Jeff never showed. Jeff's secretary called on tuesday, apologizing to me that he was out of town over the weekend and that he would show up on Wednesday at 3:00 to fix what he had not finished. I took another 2 hours off of work to meet with Jeff. Again, he never showed. I sent him an e-mail stating what he had proposed and what he had done in his contract. I only want the job to be finished, but i get alot of empty promises. On another note, It rained really hard this past week (9-20-12). The work that Jeff had done on my roof leaked. Now i have to replace the new ceiling tiles in my upstairs hallway that i had replaced after he worked on my roof. I called Jeff and got his secretary. I was told that they would have someone out on Monday at 10 am. Of course, nobody showed up again. It has now been almost a month since my roof was replaced. I still have a leak.

This is our "mandatory, per contract", kitchen review:…read more -we asked for reface, got talked into a full remodel, which we wouldn't have done if we hadn't been misled about financing -mislead about how long installation would last; told "no longer than two weeks, we don't start until we have all of the product in house"; were also told that they do not hire outside contractors- also false -things were not, in fact, ordered in time (floor), not must wait a week or more for floor to come in and someone to install *leaving us with no kitchen for an extra week and a half when we were promised a week installation -- specifically after being called (early) and being told that the flooring was in, could it be started the next day, contractor shows up, "uh yeah I don't have all of the flooring and they don't know when it'll be in" -we're not told lead time for granite installation by anyone at time of initial project start, then told we had to wait 3 days for granite to 'cure' and it doesn't LIES - to be clear, this would not have been an issue had we known up front -did not include items in the renovation plan that were talked about from initial meeting (ie: under cabinet lighting that had to be added last minute) -did not explain that the new floor would be installed over the existing floor -installed lazy Susan's into blind corner cabinets after specifically said not to; asked for shelves -trash can / recycling cabinets do not function properly, and still don't; we're told they don't know how to fix it -knew what sink we wanted at initial start and measured and at installation told us we could not have that sink because it would not fit based on the measurements when he's the one that took the initial measurements; bought own sink from home depot -cabinets did not match blueprint measurements -installers did not know that they were supposed to be installing the backsplash (more miscommunication); did a very rushed job; pieces missing, cracked; its still covered in grout -were not given any timeline for the installation; took weeks longer than expected -the edge of flooring where it meets the carpet was not going to have a transition strip - HUGE FALL HAZARD in 4 different places; had to almost beg to have the strip put down -did not seal vanity countertop in powder room (just sat it on top of the cabinet) - husband had to do it and it almost fell on him -did not install electrical for dishwasher correctly; husband had to cut hole for it to go into the sink cabinet -backsplash measurements was way off - had to order more twice -contractor had to come by at 6:30 am on a day not scheduled to work, to move the cabinet to fit the dishwasher before granite could be set for dishwasher properly -had to add hole for dishwasher in the sink cabinet -installed baking sheet rack in the wrong direction, husband had to remove & reinstall -did not take cooktop gas line into account and after the granite company placed it, the cabinet drawer didn't close all of the way; had to be adjusted because the drawers would not close -we had just had the house freshly painted and they scuffed many areas and wouldn't touch it up -sold custom appliance 'garage' with non- movable shelves- meaning, that the microwave we currently have is the only size we will ever be able to fit in it; microwave is back on the counter & we told them not to install the 2nd appliance garage as the contractor said "it was put together incorrectly" and was unsure when it would be ready - holding installation up, again -slow close drawers that are not slow to close; they never actually close and have to be pushed in ** The "person" who sold us on this project, who is the co-owner or this circus, is nothing more than a manipulative con artist, nothing short of a used car salesman. This project a disaster from day one and absolutely nothing like what was "promised", nor on the imaginary timeline given. -blatantly lies when questioned about above mentioned issues -car salesman mentality -rude, always passing blame to someone else -extremely rude customer service; tag line is: "I can neither confirm nor deny that " and no one ever calls back --3 weeks in, found out MULTIPLE people "no longer with the company" and items weren't ordered or put together correctly thus changing the completion timeline - never communicated anything to us (the client), 2 days before Thanksgiving, we have an incomplete kitchen and half of a floor -let my dog get out because they couldn't manage to shut the door all the way when asked to multiple times -at one point at the end of install, my husband emailed photos and the above list of complaints and work that needed to be corrected before we would sign off to co-owner who then sent it to the contractor who has been working on our house. Little be known to him, he sent it to someone at the company who then called my husband saying he was the product manager, and was very upset to be learning
