I've been going to Harris Uniforms ever since they were in Bergenfield with the old lady and then when Vinny bought it and brought it to Hackensack and never had a problem and my entire police department in Hackensack did business with him never had a problem. Vinny is always accommodating pleasant to speak with, and it even becomes a place to hang out and chitchat with the cops and other departments so I like the place and I think every once in a while, something's gonna happen and people take to the Internet to pitch a bitch, which is that right but I would probably wait if it happened to me a numerous times and then I would give bad review cause reviews due hurt a business and once the cat is out of the bag, there's no way to take it back. read more

I've been going to Harris for a while now. Every time I've been there, I never had an attitude given to me. The lady is friendly and helpful, the younger kid seems very willing to assist you, and I can't say anything bad about the owner as I only had gold cards made thru him. I would just like to point something out... I ordered nametags from them, and they never told me that they would sew them on my uniforms for FREE. When I picked up my name tags I was told there that they would sew they on. Had I have known that from the beginning, it would've saved me a trip on gas as I had to go home and pick up my uniforms. read more

Horrible Customer Service!! Owner- Vinny I was recommended to purchase my equipment & uniform from Harris for the police academy but after the unprofessional and unfriendly customer service received from this place I WILL NEVER RETURN in the future. Hassle upon returning or exchanging items! I was given the wrong magazine holder for my weapon to begin with by the owner and upon returning it was given an attitude. I wanted to exchange my unworn boots in its original packaging and Vinny was reluctant to exchange my boots. Every process at this location was a hassle and the rudeness received from the owner and his son was uncalled for and unnecessary. Items that had to be ordered and promised by a certain date were not delivered as told. I hope this review helps future consumers. read more

Stay away if you want stress free ordering. Me and three other guys I started at a new job with ordered one polo each from here. One was missing a patch, other two had both names spelt wrong, but were written on the order form correctly. So I go to pick up my shirt and get told I'll have to come back when they correct the name. It's been over a week and I haven't heard from them. If you call their number and hit the option to inquire about an order, it says the extension is disconnected. I would have rather paid a little more elsewhere to cut two weeks off of my order and not have to make two extra trips to the store. Especially when their hours are 9-530, when I am working. read more

I've been a customer for 19 years. The selection is vast and the staff is exceptional. If they don't have it, they'll get it. Sometimes you just have to be a little patient. Not something many cops are good at. Quite simply the best uniform store for anything you'll need. read more

Keep in mind virtually everything in the Uniform business is CUSTOM. Know what you like and try on everything first. If you wear a vest or patrol boots...bring them with you. The place is busy...more busy now that they are in their new location...Easy to find and off street parking.. Be prepared to WAIT a little. Double check your order..any custom items...patch placement..name embroidery... They cannot be expected to remember how 100's of various Departments wear their uniforms.. First off let me state by saying its not easy running a uniform business. The people here are very polite and attentive. I gotta admit there was a small situation where the item that had to be special ordered, but was shipped late by the manufacturer. I ended up taking it out on them over the phone. I panicked since the graduation was 3 days away from the day they have received it. The store made a promise and kept it up. With that said I would definitely recommend this place. Been coming here for a few months and have to say they're friendly and accommodating. I was measured for my uniform and it was tailored. Patches sewn on and everything looked professional. I don't agree with the other reviews about the rudeness and unwillingness to exchange items. Go to Atlantic Uniform's both locations and Belleville and learn about true rudeness, arrogance and unwillingness to exchange items. Harris Uniform is a pleasure and a dream compared to those yahoos. Even though Harris Uniform is out of the way for me (17 miles) I'll drive there any day just to save the aggravation I experience at Atlantic Uniform which is only 5 minutes from me. read more

Unfortunately, every time I order uniforms they are tailored wrong. I expect my uniforms to fit properly, and I don't think that's too much to ask. The last time I ordered pants they were cut way too short. This time I didn't get measured so I could take them to my tailor to ensure they weren't too short. They took it upon themselves to assume my length and once again cut them too short- by two inches. I'll never order here again. I'd rather drive further and get what I want. I've given them enough chances and spent enough there. They are not at all concerned with what the customer wants or asking for. But rather, they'll cut corners and disappoint their customers. read more
