It is not often I feel compelled to write a review on a grocery store, but Harris Teeter set the bar so high Danny Wegman would be shivering in his khakis. I hate grocery shopping, but Harris Teeter was a surprisingly enjoyable experience. What makes this review 5 stars as opposed to 4 was our cashier, Andrew. Andrew was a very friendly and engaging young gentleman. He cracked some jokes with us and made me feel like I've known him my whole life. Andrew, I hope you get a promotion, or at the very least recognized as Employee of the Month. You're definitely going down as one of the greats in my Yelp hall of fame. read more

I had a nice visit today. The parking lot can be a mess but this is a nice Harris Teeter. They have a huge Starbucks and a big salad bar. The young cashier was really nice and the bagger did a great job. It may sound silly but I have had some crappy baggers lately so to have everything put in the right bag was nice. They have a sushi station, deli, seafood, bakery, and meat section. Nice floral section, too. read more

Unfortunately our neighborhood Harris Teeter does NOT care about their elderly customers! Walked into the store, no CARTS ANYWHERE! No carts not even a hand carried BASKET NOTHING AND THEY THINK ITS OKAY!! This has been going on for more than 6 months! I am now convinced they DO NOT CARE ABOUT US! Stop shopping here until they start caring about their customers I have spoken to the manager about this ;manager gives you a song & dance bs cart talk and nothing is fixed!! Really nice store. But very unorganized. Lots of good finds but dissapointed that they didn't have some things I was looking for but with the shortages I can't complain. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a hot bar and pizza too. read more

The Management at this store should be ashamed of themselves. It is so poorly run that they had only two, very slow, cashiers at volume, and all the self checkouts were full and had ppl waiting. I counted more than five customers 70+ waiting for over twenty minutes to be checked out. Where was the Manager? Where was the floor Manager? Who is running this store? Anyone? The only Harris Teeter in this town that is well run is the new one on Carolina Beach Rd. Everyone in line was complaining about how this grocery store used to be so great and has gone way down in customer service. From now on, I will be frequenting the new one and Trader Joe's. They are well run stores and act like they value their customers. read more

Harris Teeter, you just rock! I am very thankful to have 2 HT's near my home since they offer the best value for high-quality meats and fresh produce. Both of them also offer a different experience from one another, based on my needs. The other evening, we stopped by this Harris Teeter on S. College Rd. to pick up some ingredients to prepare dinner at home for the next few days. This specific location is where I prefer to buy meats. My wife and I really had no plan on what to get, so we decided to just wing it. After examining the meats and sales offered, we chose to go with flank steak to prepare London broil. Using more ingredients purchased from Harris Teeter (soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, oregano and more), this dinner turned out perfectly and the pics will show it. We paired this beautiful piece of meat with diced Yukon Gold potatoes with garlic salt and rosemary along with french-style green beans. The service I experience is just as good as any other grocer I've been to, but the butchers here are always very friendly and ready to assist. Harris Teeter stores in this area of Wilmington never seem to have Hot Chicken whenever its is on Sale. This is Not the first time this has happened either. I have talked to store managers and the store Director in a neighboring Harris Teeter and all I get is we are sorry and promise to have it ready for you the next time or have you tried pre ordering it so you can make sure we have it.. what kind of response is that?? Went to this location for many years. In more recent times, there would be a mistake in the store's favor on every receipt. Items would be charged incorrectly, sales would be ignored, and so on. Always giving the store extra money. When returning to the store to explain the issues, it always felt like I was treated with skepticism, often being asked to prove the sale existed. (Had spent thousands upon thousands of dollars there over time.) Signage was also spotty. Often, neither the advertising nor the signs on shelves would have limits to amount you could purchase for a sale. This would, again, lead to paying the store more than expected. Finally decided to stop going to the store after a physical altercation with someone at the customer service desk. I had a rain check that the store didn't wish to honor. Cashier error, I bought half of what I had the rain check for, and the cashier said I could come back for the other half. Apparently the store doesn't honor that, but it wasn't my doing. The manager took the paper from me, and held in a "keep-away" style, holding it over my head and all around as I reached out and asked for her to hand it back. "That's my property." I explained, to which she childishly said "No it isn't." Very disrespectful staff, very poor practices bordering on what looks like scamming. You do NOT advertise sales, and then not register them on check-out. Not that often. It starts to look purposeful. read more

I've come to this HT for groceries since I moved to college. I've always had wonderful experiences. The last two times, however, a dark haired man named Daniel at self check out has made me feel extremely uncomfortable. He stared me up and down until I checked out my water the first time. Then today he had to check my ID twice. No smile no customer service -- just a rude look suggesting I was trying to steal or get alcohol underage. Today, he even interrupted my check out by saying, "have u rang up your water" and I wanted to say "I haven't even finished ringing up my cart, can you please be a nice normal human!?!?" Horrible experience and now I'll definitely have to go to Lowe's or Publix. You guys should think of hiring a different employee for a customer service job. read more

I like Harris Teeter although they are expensive... The salad bar is a good deal and i'm a fan of that. The store is always clean and they have a better selection of food than Lowes or food lion for sure. You really have to check out they're deals, that's where you save the big money! Oh yeah! and they give a 10% student discount to UNCW students! AND this Friday they're doing a 20% discount for students from 8-11pm!!! I'll be sure to be there for that!!!! read more

This store does not stand up to the high customer service standards of H-T. The management is surly. The employees simply could not be bothered with anything. The cashiers are often somewhere else talking with other employees or friends. I dislike this place, but am forced to endure it as an occasional convenience. It's how I used to feel about a Food Lion I used to have to shop in on my way home from work. The tall, latino manager could not be less interested in the customers, when he is actually present. The other day I walked up to what appeared to be an empty checkout line only to learn the cashier had allowed the customer to continue shopping with her check-out open. I went to the Uscans and checked out and as I was leaving the lady had still not returned. That kid needs more training. This store's management needs to be reassigned and the staff retrained on the standards of H-T. read more

I shop here, the store is jam packed with everything you could want. However, I went in for deodorant and all they have is a few without prices. There are quite a few items in this store with no prices, which is aggravating. They have a good amount of fresh produce, a salad bar, and my friend says their cheeses are mostly processed, which he hates. I'm pretty happy with this Harris Teeter, despite it being a bit expensive. A huge plus is the Starbucks coffee shop inside! read more
