Fresh green onions

Running all around town for some ingredients, Finally found them here. We should have come here first, always looks clean and well stocked Like all other HT this place has everything and don't mind to drive all the way there since the new store in Nexton won't come till 2024 Parking lot is limited because they have to share with a lot of other small businesses. Parking can be a hit and miss but nothing is perfect in this world anymore. Will keep coming back even of it is a 20 minute drive

Harris Teeter in Summerville SC

Great shop this evening at this Teeter, which is definitely open 24 hours. It was almost like we were the only ones in here at 11pm. We also made the important decision of having a full meal before doing our shop and that really helped us make better choices. The store is bright, clean and very well stocked. Everything from dairy to wine/beer to cheese was tidy and nicely leveled. Prices are clearly displayed and while they're higher than average, Teeter is solid for quality and a positive shopping experience. We have Harris Teeter up where I live in Charlotte and it's a regular stop for me. This one is just as good as ours. [Review 10528 overall, 295 of 2019.]

It's $5 Friday at Harris Tetter!

Summerville's Harris Teeter is like most of their stores ...neat, well stocked and friendly staff! We saw on social media that $5 Sushi on Friday's was the thing to do today...the sushi was really goodso we are adding this to our 'things to do' on Friday's!

Nice cakes and cookies! Pricey today but they are often on sale.

This Harris Teeter location is one of the newer ones in the Charleston area, and Summerville is grateful for it. I've been a Harris Teeter shopper for a long time and frequent other stores in the area due to location, but I love shopping at this store because I always have a top-notch experience. The aisles are clean and large, the store is brightly lit and laid out nicely. There's a Starbucks as well as many self checkout lanes. Unlike some of the other Harris Teeter stores, this store offers a hot bar and a trail mix bar. The salad bar and hot bar are usually well stocked, clean, and the food looks delicious. There's a pizza station as well as the usual deli, bakery, etc. Like all Harris Teeter stores, the customer service is great and they happily accept (and double) coupons. The store has plenty of parking and is convenient to Bacon's Bridge Rd. and Old Trolley, and not far from Downtown Summerville. It's by far my favorite place to shop for groceries in Summerville!

Harris Teeter is a nice grocery store. I pop in on occasion--I don't get my groceries here. It's always clean and organized. I do think the prices are higher than other grocery stores in the area. The produce department is large! They even have a good amount of organic items. The meat/seafood selection is good. It always looks extra fresh. I love their floral department. The flowers always look so bright and vibrant. I love their donuts from Saffron Cafe and Bakery, which is downtown and they are only $1. They offer a great variety of wine and beer. They have a good variety of on-the-go items...fresh sushi, pizza, subs, chicken. I like the salad bar--there's a variety of items and it's always clean. They even have a trail mix station! The Starbucks is a plus. Sometimes there can be a lack of registers open.

The manager, Jamie, went above and beyond to help me with an issue I had at self check out. He made things right without hesitation and was super helpful! I had a cookie cake and cupcakes made for my son's birthday and we wanted a Summerville High School Greenwave football theme and they nailed it. The cookie and cupcakes were amazing! I've been a loyal customer since they opened and I will always be one!

Disgusted expired mayo in Harris-Teeter on Bacon's Bridge Road in Summerville. Expired 9/3/22, I found it on 3/4/23.

I've been going to this Harris Teeter literally since it opened in a retrofitted Piggly-Wiggly. I drive 23 miles and pass three other grocers on the way. Not after today! The quality of products and customer service have declined so dramatically, I've been wondering why I'm still loyal. Today was the end. I found FIVE expired jars of Duke's Mayo on the shelf. The worst, which expired seven months ago, looked like someone had vomited in the jar--oily, discolored, fat separating. Trying to be helpful and with ZERO attitude, I took them to the customer service desk. The clerk was so rude. No apology, no "Thanks for bringing this to our attention," just hair-flipping attitude and these words: "Well, how many are still on the shelf?" What? "I don't know, I brought you all I could carry," I said, mystified as to my role in H-T inventory. She leaned forward and said, "WHAT I AM ASKING YOU IS ARE THER ANY MORE EXPIRED JARS ON THE SHELF." I replied, "I don't know. Maybe somebody here could do their job and check on that!" Then I photographed the nasty expired jars of mayo. She was angry--rolling eyes, flared nostrils--but not as angry as I was. I went through checkout and paid for my other groceries, but I will never set foot in this store again. I've posted this review and photo on every social media platform I can think of. I expect to be treated with courtesy and respect when I'm spending my money. Goodbye, H-T, and hello, Publix! Their employees are well-trained in customer service.

Good location, good selection, and good quality. However, they are a bit too proud of their products. Expensive.

You get what you pay for! and I get it! it is my fault not theirs but I also blame management for using poor quality ingredients and for the bait and switch factor. Had to throw most of the pizza to the trash, I should have not paid attention to what my friend said about the Monday pizza. About the only thing I like about this store is the bar with live music some days but makes me think what kind of wine am I getting. They are in the business of selling groceries and you would think that the deli and the bar side are just a convenience for the customers but I am not sure I will buy any prepared food or wine from a brand I am not familiar with

Parking is shared with other businesses in the area. The store parking lot and inside were extremely clean and well laid out. Granted, this is a new location, but you can see the hard work that the team put in to keep the store looking fantastic. Don't you love it when a business team member goes out of their way to make things right? That's exactly what the very nice lady at the bakery did this morning (I did not catch her name). She went out of her way to find me some bran muffins, and cracked open a package that had already been sealed from their bakery, Just so that I could have that Muffin! How cool is that?! Walking around at the store, I was asked by three different team members if I needed help. Awesome and appreciated! The deli and hot food service is the bomb! Fresh and hot and great selection. The fresh produce department was beautiful as always, seems to be the case with Harris Teeter. We will be coming back to this store specifically because of this interaction and experience.

Who comes to a grocery store and doesn't buy groceries? Me!…read more I love Lowe's Boxcar Coffee and Beer Den. Tucked into a corner, it's a great place to relax with your favorite beverage. The booths are comfy, plenty of high tops, and a few seats at the bar. The coffee is excellent. I'm a purist, but flavor fanciers will love the available options. I'm going to try the beer, because I can buy in recyclable growlers - and it's tasty. But the attribute I like best is that while it's not silent, there's the usual hubbub, it's quiet enough to have a normal volume conversation with a friend or a group. How nice to have a cuppa with friends, and catch up, without shouting over the TVs, blaring music, and arcade games of most places. Plus, there's fresh pastries just down the aisle...

I must admit as a former chef then afterwards living in Kansas City and Austin TX for 25 years and frequenting large grocery stores with almost all of the things I've needed under one roof; I've been very disappointed with almost all the grocery stores here. So, after my mother convinced me to stop by Lowes I was pleasantly surprised with a chain that "gets it" here in town. Walking in I found the place to be extremely clean with some of the nicest employees I've come across since being back in town. Moreover, they're rather smart; strategically placing fresh baked focaccia bread close to the entrance, enticing one's stomach to influence the power of the purse. Next, I challenge anyone to resist their smoked foods as the air is heavy with the sweet perfume. Please note that Lowes carries a LOT of items customers will NOT find at other stores. From the towns best selection of cheeses, rack of lamb, watermelon radish and on the list continues, I encourage all those reading this to shop this store for those harder to find items. As for instore made items, I've tried a few and would like to report my limited findings. First, I bought a loaf of olive focaccia bread a noted weakness of mine. I found it be pillow-y moistness, bouncing back to the touch with a good fragrance however the amount of rosemary in it will repel even the most persistent of demons (odd refence). I bought another loaf of parmesan and I had the same issue, just way to rosemary which I happen to enjoy. I wish they had an alternative without the herb but other than that it's awesome. Another success in the bakery was the Bavarian donuts which I highly advise not buying as they're downright addictive. Soft, moist and a perfect chocolate to cream ratio these things are illegal in 5 surrounding counties! As for protein, I broke down and got the smoked chicken wings and macaroni salad for lunch. Again, this would be a resounding success if it weren't for one overwhelming ingredient; in this case salt. I'm of the belief they marinated these wings in the dead sea as it tasted as if the cap to the salt shaker fell off when seasoning these wings. Otherwise, these wings hit on all notes as they were moist and had the perfect amount of smoke. As for the mac salad, everyone has their version of what are perfect ingredients so I'll just add this, they perfectly cooked the pasta. That is to say the noodles weren't soggy or cooked to death; rather al dente which is perfect for the summertime favorite. As for addins I think they're ok but that's very subjective. Again, a certified hit. I did grab the sushi one day but I'm not a fan of grocery store sushi for the simple fact that the rice needs to be warm and the fish cold as it creates a contrast in the mouth. That said I got the fried shrimp sushi and it was just like any other store, not great. Nothing taken away as I realize most people are happy with this. My point is if I'm craving sushi a grocery store isn't the first thing that comes to mind as a true restaurant has better quality fish and a more diverse menu. To summarize Lowes is a great place to obtain those harder to find ingredients with the best in store created foods among all the competitors out there. The people here are very nice and willing to help however please note you'll need to obtain a card to get the discounts, the one down side of Lowes, is they're a little more expensive. However, "it's a small price to pay" for leveling up on the quality meter. This is my favorite grocery store in town and it's not even close.

It is…read morethe oldest pharmacy in South Carolina as well as the oldest continuously-operating business in Summerville. It was founded by Dr. Henry Charles Guerin. The roots of the pharmacy go back decades earlier. Dr. C.F. Schwettmann owned a drugstore in Charleston, but it was damaged by cannon fire during the Civil War. He set up a new drugstore in Summerville in 1864. In 1871, Guerin (a former Confederate soldier and graduate of the Medical College of South Carolina) purchased the pharmacy and Schwettmann returned to Charleston. After Guerin passed away, the pharmacy was taken over by his son Dr. Joseph C. Guerin. The younger Guerin's colleague Dr. Herbert F. Dunning later purchased the pharmacy. Since 2014, the owner of Guerin's Pharmacy has been Dunning's grand niece Barbara A. Dunning, RPh. My family and I visited Guerin's Pharmacy this past summer while we were visiting family in town. Our cousins told us to check out a really cool old pharmacy in Hutchinson Square. We had no idea that pharmacies like this still existed; we had only seen ones like this in the movies. In addition to a pharmacy, Guerin's also essentially doubles as a general store where customers can purchase souvenirs, postcards, books, t-shirts, etc. Guerin's is also home to a soda fountain, which were popular in drugstores during the first half of the 20th century but rarely seen today. Customers can get Blue Bell brand ice cream, milkshakes, malts, floats, fountain sodas, hotdogs (with or without chili), pickles, or a number of different treats from the candy counter. My wife and I shared a cup of "Mint Chocolate Chip" ice cream while our sons shared a cup of "Cookies 'n Cream". My wife also enjoyed a strawberry milkshake while I had a bottle of Cheerwine. It was so cool to step back in time at Guerin's Pharmacy! We'll definitely visit again on a future trip to Summerville.
