This location prices is outrageous. Even the other locations prices are lower. It's gotten ridiculous that every week they price hike. Double what food lion charges at 1-2 dollars higher than other Harris locations. This one is definitely gouging. I just paid 3.00 for a white onion not organic either. That's absurd. I recently stopped by Store #274 around 1PM on 8/22/24 to pick up a few items, never expecting to come out really negatively affected by a particular cashier who's name is Jen R. Upon checkout I put in my credit card for processing. My credit card was declined. I proceeded to ask the cashier if she could process once more as I didn't understand why it had been declined. That is when the cashier started behaving weirdly angry which made me think "wtf". She grabbed my credit card from my hand and proceeded to put in machine and began to press keys. I asked her if she could call a Manager which really made cashier go a bit psycho as she picked up the overhead microphone and proceeded to yell that customer credit card had been declined... Complete disclosure, I remembered Bank of America had contacted me to let me know there had been a suspicious charge on the account which I did not know prompted them to put a freeze on the account. I proceeded to take my PNC Debit card out for processing when Jen R. takes the card from my hand and inserts into machine pushing "credit" and not "debit". I asked what gives you the right to do that? I was shocked she touched me. I forgot to mention all the while she has a mask on. That's when she proceeds to take her mask off and things become more clear. Customer Service Hub is right in front of this cashier mind you. Manager walks out and finally confirms what my suspicions are. Jen R is "challenged" and per manager, Michelle Gamble, Jen R gets highly agitated when things don't go perfectly". All the while another representative of the store behind the Customer Service is getting a real kick out of watching the scenario, judging from the BIG ol' smile on her face. I felt as though I was in some type of Twilight ZONE. While I can appreciate HIPAA rules, I also feel that upon hiring "disabled" employees there should be more supervision provided so that a negative customer experience can be avoided. read more

It's a Harris Teeter and pretty much like every other HT out there except for being in closer proximity to the upper reaches of Lake Norman than most. There's somethings worth paying extra for and other things not so much; MLB would put eggs in that category, and dairy, and peanut butter and most fruits because she wants them as organic and un-modified as possible whereas I'm just looking to minimize the GMO-sity. Not my go-to store but I go here after school, not enough to be rewarded in fuel just slightly lower priced organics. read more

This place is getting more and more ridiculous. I shop here occasionally out of convenience due to proximity and insane traffic on 150. They continue to dramatically raise their prices. Sky is the limit for the inflation at Harris Teeter apparently. However, if you hope to be checked out by a human being, dream on. Not only must you pay top (Higher than most luxury markets) dollar, but you are also expected to act as an employee. Where's my paycheck? I do believe I will have to suffer the 150 traffic from now on by driving elsewhere. Food Lion is nothing special but they always have folks to check you out and they aren't currently pricing every single item like we're all millionaires. read more

It was a pain in the butt to get a rewards card. Heard Publix is coming to the area. Love that they give sale prices without a damn card. Harris T needed my drivers license, phone number, and email. I will say it sliced $6 off a $21 bill, so I guess it was worth it to me. Not so much for the people waiting in line behind me. Good produce. Decent prices. Loved the layout of the store. Loved the sales and selection of items. Other than the huge ordeal getting a card (and the absolute stupidity of needing one), it's a 5-star place, albeit a bit pricey. read more

Two straight bad experiences with seafood at this location. Seafood counter staff i have dealt with is not knowledgeble and does not handle shellfish properly. getting my money back for some spoiled product was a real struggle at the service counter. read more

I was going to give this grocery store three stars but it has a Starbucks so... The store really needs more organic options. Specifically went here to get some avocados they had pitiful choices, about 20 left I found one out of the bunch that was probably edible. There is not a better grocery store around Lake Norman. The place is clean and the staff is awesome. When ever I go in there the staff is super. I want to also add that the florist, Tanya helps me all the time making special gifts and she is the most sweetest person I have ever met. I love that they load my groceries for me. Food Lion makes you unload at register and if you ask them to help you take your groceries out they roll their eyes and make you feel like crap for asking. Madi is fabulous. She is always there to help me. There are so many at this store that I love. I hate shopping anywhere else read more

I'm new to the area and I have been trying to figure out where to do my grocery shopping. I've been fairly pleased with this store, but yesterday I was disappointed. I wanted a carton of grape tomatoes. They had a VIC special 2 cartons for $5 dollars...must buy two. My other choices were cartons for $4.99 and $5.99. I didn't really need two. I picked up a number of cartons looking to find one that was okay. There were some green tomatoes. I expected I was buying an inferior product at $2.99. I continued to cull through the cartons looking for one that didn't have molded tomatoes. Found one with a few green ones. When I washed them I had to throw away 8 tomatoes that were moldy. read more

I went to HT AT 10:30 am to get orange juice on sale for 2/3.00. They were out but had 1 gallon for 3.49. At checkout I asked cashier Lebrun if I could get it at the 3.00 price. He went to the office and asked the mgr on duty Tammi. Returned to checkout and advised me no. My comment was "not very good customer service ". Tammi must have heard me and came storming out of her office to within 2 feet of my face to tell me it was corporate policy-no substitutions. No problem with that but I asked her to get out of my face and maintain her 6 foot social distance. She was very unprofessional. read more

The secret word of the review is "a whole" and "a-hole"...keep reading... Love Super Double Coupon Days!!! When they have them. However, most coupons on a normal day are doubled up to $1.00. Doesn't sound like "a whole" bunch, but over time, it really does add up. The other day, I bought some steaks from the meat department, got home, put them on the grill and to my disappointment, ended up throwing them out. (Not good steaks--boo.) However, HT redeemed themselves by doubling my money back when I told them of the bad experience. I also had a bad purchase of a 7-layer dip, which was all beans and no 6 other layers (and the tomatoes were not great.) So I returned that too. I was told that produce products were double your money back too. When I came back to the store to return it, I was only given the original price which was $6.00 (a lot for dip I might say, but I really wanted something jazzy that night.) I asked the "manager" why I didn't get double my money back (might I add that I had to chase her when she was walking away from me) she seemed to get pissed that I asked her about her store policy, not something that I made up in my head. She refunded an additional $6.00 but not with out acting like an "a-hole." If you loathe customers the way your face expressed you do, get out of customer service. Just a tip. Other than that, the meat department guys have always been pretty nice to me. Always helpful, pretty much sincere about what is the best stuff in the case. The meat portion that night was the "miss." Harris Teeter please come to Pittsburgh and rescue us from this Giant Eagle BS!! I love how they have a TON of samples of fruits, meats, and cheeses so you can try before you buy. They have one of the best Key Lime pies I have ever eaten! My parents said they have only had better ones in Florida. Since we were visiting, the cashier let us use the store rewards card so we could still get a discount. The young guys at the deli and meat counters were very helpful and patient with my mom as she detailed exactly how she wanted her meat sliced (yes, she is THAT annoying customer but they handled it very well!). Prices are a tad higher than my local grocer back in Pittsburgh but, I feel, there is more variety and better quality at Harris Teeter than at my local. It'd be more convenient if they were 24 hours like the grocers back home but it is in a more sleepy town so I understand. It's centrally located to most of the rental houses on the lake too. Bonus that you can't get back in PA-they sell beer AND wine in the store (stupid PA liquor laws......) read more

Every grocery store boils down to service, and I had a Christmas Eve nightmare that turned out much better because of this place. Picture it: picking up extra groceries, the store about to close, every self-scanner is occupied, and YOUR self-scanner suddenly jams. Really. Will not work. The lady at customer service opened up a cashier lane for me, just to ring up my stuff! I got my groceries with plenty of time to get home and make some extra dishes...thank you so much! read more

The best meat around and a great deli. However, there aren't enough organic produce options. Also, checking out is a hassle. There is usually only one register open, and they try and force you to use self-checkout. It is apparent that they are doing this to cut down on manpower. I greatly dislike this! read more
