Do not purchase from them. They will take your money and then never send the package. When I called to inquire about my order, they told me it was only the fault of UPS. Then I learned they filed a claim and got full reimbursement for my package lost in the mail. On top of that, their Customer Success Manager, Amy DeMetsenaere, will call you names when you express disappointment over the lost shipping and all they respond is "it's busy season." No apologies or accountability from any of their customer service team including Sue Hall. read more

Ordered two fluorescent grow lights. They arrived damaged since they were not properly packaged. I called the customer service, who did not even apologize. She took my information and called me back at 6:30 am the following morning, asking for photos. I sent the photos to her and the return department. No response for over a week. After a week, I received another email asking for photos. I sent another email with photos. No response for another week. Finally, after several weeks trying to returned damaged merchandise and get a refund, I started a claim through the credit card. My first and last time buying anything from Harris Seeds. read more

I was hesitant to order after seeing several negative reviews. I'm so glad I did, though. They have great prices and unique varieties I haven't been able to find anywhere else. Shipping was super quick. Plenty of seeds per packet and I think I actually had 100% germination rate. My plants are growing splendidly. Zero customer service. I submitted online communication twice through their website with no response about my order. I then called their customer service number after a week of no responses and was told they are understaffed and she would send a note to the shipping department and have them contact me. No one has called. So although I have had great luck with their seeds, unfortunately they have horrible customer service. So beware that should you have any issue with your order, you risk being out $$$. read more

We used to enjoy the good customer service with Harris Seeds but over the last couple of years, it has taken a dramatic decline. Constant "back ordered seeds are just one problem with them. Charging sales tax when the customer has a farm exemption certificate on file with them every year is illegal. (And then they drag their feet on refunding the tax-almost three months in my case this year and still no refund.) The New York Department Of Revenue will hear about it this time. read more

Depending on when I place my order, I sometimes have to wait for seeds on backorder, but they always arrive eventually before it's actually time to plant in my zone. The seed it high quality and always has great germination. I've been planting Harris Seeds for years and will continue to do so. read more

I ordered 2 pkts of seeds - received one, the other on back order. It was then shipped to me via USPS who delivered the seeds - so they say - but NOT TO ME! I called and I was told repeatedly to take it up with the post office. They would not replace the one pkt of seeds. They said they would waive shipping if I reordered, but I would have to pay AGAIN for the pkt of seeds I ALREADY PAID FOR. And, no guarantee that USPS is not going to mess up again. They would rather keep their very poor customer service then replace ONE pkt of seeds. So, if you order from them and you don't get what you paid for - TOO, TOO BAD! SHAME ON THEM!!! read more

I placed a huge order of seeds with Harris Seeds in February 2022. It took a while, but the back-ordered seeds finally came and I planted them all. Oddly not many seeds grew in my rich soil so I asked for a refund for only the $86 worth of seeds that didn't even germinate. I had to call Harris seeds three times and email them nine times for them to send me a refund check which was ONLY HALF of what they owed me! They still owe me! I purchased seeds from Harris seed company that were supposed to be non-GMO non-treated but they were treated not only that this very small amount of seeds they gave me were not worth the money at all I feel I got ripped off so I emailed the company over a week and a half ago and they still have not answered me they just ignored me. They have my email address because they keep sending me ads to buy seeds from them which I will never do ever again , so here I am leaving a review hoping it will help others to not get ripped off by Harris seed company. ORDER YOUR SEEDS 3 MONTHS EARLY even for "3-5 day shipping." Apparently the seed companies are having trouble with shipping. Exactly 1 month after I ordered my seeds for 3-5day shipping... They still have not left Rochester NY. I live in the Pacific Northwest so they have a long way to go and still have not left the post office they were dropped off at. The seed order was confirmed Jan 3rd. I know usps is behind so I waited a long time to call. Finally Jan 29 I called because I needed to get my seeds started indoors soon. The seeds hadn't left Rochester still as of 2/4/21. They are two little inexpensive seed packs that I can't buy anywhere else, and they are very important to me. After some run around talking to two different people by phone they agreed to reship it, then sent me an email later that day saying never mind they won't resend them. Now today 2/4 when I called again they informed me that they did indeed reship it just prior to me calling. I'm uncertain of what lead to the reversal, but I'm thankful and hopeful that I will eventually get the seeds. I appreciate the extra effort that was put forward to correct this issue, so I have upgraded my rating to reflect their efforts. I have received a secondary tracking number. So I remain cautiously optimistic. I know they will be great seeds the ones I bought last year had a nearly 100% germination. But if I don't get the seeds or get started way too late, the quality of the seeds will be totally irrelevant. Wish me luck. I ordered a single package of 25 "Honeynut" squash seeds from Harris Seeds in the spring. It turned out to be "Delicata" squash not "Honeynut". This is the first time ever I have received the wrong seed from a mail order company. I give them 2 stars because they refunded the cost of the seeds $3.05 on their own. However they did not refund the shipping charge of $3.95. read more
