I'm a regular at Harris Farm Lane Cove and always love it, but a recent experience with a team member named Zeron truly stood out.
I was in a frantic rush to get to my daughter's school musical and had grabbed a gorgeous bunch of roses with coloured baby's breath. The flowers had been sitting in a jar of water and the bottom half was unwrapped -- and this mattered, because we were giving them to one of the leads in the show who wouldn't finish performing until 9pm. It was only 5:45pm, so the flowers needed to stay hydrated for over three hours before they'd even be received. The in-store florist had already finished for the day and I had no idea what to do.
Zeron, who was near the cashiers, came straight outside to help. He grabbed a freezer bag from the fruit section, added water, wrapped the stems in tissue paper, secured it all with a rubber band, then finished the whole thing beautifully with florist paper and a decorative tie. It was creative, practical and looked wonderful.
He was calm, quick and genuinely kind the whole time. We made it to the show on time and the flowers were still perfectly fresh when presented after the performance. Zeron is exactly the kind of person who makes a local shop feel like community. read more
