I'm a regular at Harris Farm Lane Cove and always love it, but a recent experience with a team…read moremember named Zeron truly stood out. I was in a frantic rush to get to my daughter's school musical and had grabbed a gorgeous bunch of roses with coloured baby's breath. The flowers had been sitting in a jar of water and the bottom half was unwrapped -- and this mattered, because we were giving them to one of the leads in the show who wouldn't finish performing until 9pm. It was only 5:45pm, so the flowers needed to stay hydrated for over three hours before they'd even be received. The in-store florist had already finished for the day and I had no idea what to do. Zeron, who was near the cashiers, came straight outside to help. He grabbed a freezer bag from the fruit section, added water, wrapped the stems in tissue paper, secured it all with a rubber band, then finished the whole thing beautifully with florist paper and a decorative tie. It was creative, practical and looked wonderful. He was calm, quick and genuinely kind the whole time. We made it to the show on time and the flowers were still perfectly fresh when presented after the performance. Zeron is exactly the kind of person who makes a local shop feel like community.

They really focus on natural, organic, Hugh quality items - if you're from the US, think Whole Foods. I was impressed with their produce, their amazing cheese section and the ability to grab and go many things for a quick dinner. Despite the higher end nature of their items, I thought prices were fair. In fact, we stopped several times for mineral water because it was 1/2 the price of the Metro down the road.

Great for me and my fridge, but not so good for my wallet. Although they stock excellent quality products, it is considerably more expensive than other supermarkets. Unless money is no issue, this is a place to buy special ingredients - an excellent ham, a fabulous cheese or a smooth pate - rather than to do the weekly shop. Ferraros has a much more extensive range of stock than it initially appears. If you walk to the back corner, there is a whole room devoted to wonderful cheese, a chilled section for salad leaves and delicate vegetables, a shelf with gourmet pastas, oil and vinegars and a collection of mahogany coloured chocolate truffles. It's worth going just to have a look, even if you have no intention of buying anything. The special offers are definitely worth taking note of - when I last visited, they were selling three new-season mangoes for $6.99, which, when you consider their excellent quality, is a real bargain. Also on offer were punnets of figs and blueberries - 2 for $10; another great saving. The staff are very friendly and helpful, making this a truly great food-shopping experience. If only money were no object and calories didn't exist - I'd be buying and eating the food from here at every opportunity.

I found myself reunited with my lost love…read more I came to this IGA to pick up a few things for my shop, Diane's Crystals On George Street. I just popped in to grab the basics - eye of newt, toe of frog, the basics really. As I perused through the aisles I glided ethereally whilst glancing at packets of cubed chicken stock. I debated on picking some up. Alas I eventually decided to move on to the next aisle - the canned goods aisle. As I floated above the ground with my oneness I noticed a woman up ahead in the aisle who appeared to be examining a tin of spaghetti with intense focus. I could only see the back of her yet her aura was radiating a glowing beautiful purple. It was an aura I had not seen in a while as I had spent a lot of my time lately surrounded my foul toxic disgusting green auras from sheeple! (Patience Diane, you're getting worked up again). As I glanced at her aura I could not help but feel familiarity, almost as if I had seen this aura before. I walked up to the woman and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around and my Samsonite was sprung! It was my ex wife Miriam! I could do nothing but remain in shock as she gasped upon recognising me. Miriam was my wife of many days before an unfortunate incident turned us against eachother... I do not want to dredge up old bad memories however I will say it involved foul candle placement a date night at a local restaurant whose aura is SHOCKINGLY green. To this day I cannot look at Anto- (Patience Diane you're getting upset again). Miriam immediately dropped her canned spaghetti and we fell into an embrace, our auras radiating with the Samsonite I had recently ingested. We abandoned the store and ran into the streets aligning ourselves with our love. It was then we both realised our grave mistake in letting the restaurant debacle come between our love. We ran into the night with our hearts full and chakras fuller. Thank you IGA, for reuniting us. P.S. The chicken stock cube selection is fairly decent for the prices.

Each is operated by a shopkeeper, and there are over 1,400 locations all over Australia. We had a chance to stop in at this location in Darlinghurst. It has an unusual set-up with a ground floor at street level, consisting of more durable food products and such. But then there is an escalator to the basement, where fresh produce and a deli exists. There were signs pointing to a food hall, which I later learned meant 'deli'.
