Rooms at the back are NOT quieter than rooms in the front. I'm at the back now, and after having listened to a concert until well past 10pm on the Green directly adjacent the bar noise, which was equally loud, lasted until 4am. It was much the same last night. We've shut the windows to it, only to make our sauna-like room even hotter, I fear. And I don't think it even hit 70 today. On our arrival, there were broken floor tiles in the toilet, and one of the lamps by the bed didn't work. We let reception know, and they repaired the lamp and put duct tape all over the bathroom floor to hold down the shards of death. The positives are free parking, solid wifi, and adequate cleanliness. We also enjoyed chilling in the lobby, which was quieter than the room, and has a killer chandelier and ceiling. The location is only an asset if you are going to stay out late and/or want to walk to the swanky 20-something clubs and pubs nearby. If not, then even a few blocks away would be better (quieter).

Harrington Hall had a good offer for one specific night that I needed a hotel. I looked at its pictures and thought well, that will do. Booked - saved money - arrived. The receptionist was very polite and brought my suitcase to my room since I had to leave quickly and check in later. When I got back in the afternoon, I was told my room is downstairs. In Germany buildings are different.. Hotels never offer rooms below ground floor (as far as I know). Anyways I went downstairs and was surprised how big the room and windows were. Still I didn't like the vibe down there- but that might be a personal thing. The bedroom and bathroom both seemed very old but clean. The smell was a bit musty though.. Then the night came. I was so tired and looking forward to get some sleep. But no. I felt like the big parties going on (thursday) night were RIGHT in front of my room!! And so much noise by the tram and car's horns alllll night! I was ready to fight! At least in my short dreams.. Next morning after like two hours of sleep I was happy to leave. Again this wouldn't work out as planned. Opening the door I noticed it got stuck so I had to call the reception to have someone open the room from the outside. "Oh sure I will send someone!" ..5 minutes later "HELLO? (Adele style)" "Wait I am sending someone". Finally someone got me out of the room and I almost ran out the house. Harrington Hall .. I rather won't be back.

My partner and I stayed here for six nights. We had just spent a week in Killarney at an amazing…read morebed and breakfast and were hoping for another great experience here. We were blown away by how nice this place is! For reference, we stayed in a double room with en-suite. We arrived Wednesday afternoon after taking the train from Killarney to Dublin. We got a taxi to the bed and breakfast and walked in with four bags, two of which were massive. The manager got us checked in and offered a map, which we declined since we have everything planned out and we have maps saved on our phones. We were in room 18, nicknamed the Oscar Wilde room. It was on the third floor so we did have a bit of climbing to do (there is no lift in the building due to its age and how compact it is) but we didn't really mind it that much. If we had just come off a long overseas flight we might have been a bit more salty about it but we weren't so it's fine. When we walked in the room we were shocked by how nice it was. The wallpaper is gorgeous and the bathroom is stunning. The shower is incredibly nice and felt wonderful after a long day. The window we had opened up to other buildings so we didn't have a great view, but just being able to open the window for some fresh air was lovely. The bed is incredibly comfortable (and large!) and there is a bunch of storage along the wall so you can stow your luggage and jackets and shoes without any issue. We were here during a cold and rainy week so the room never got hot or stuffy. It was warm enough at night even after having the window open all day. The building has free WiFi, you just need to enter the password when you hit the login page. The password is taped to the back of the room door so it's easy to locate. The staff are all super friendly and help you out with whatever you need. It was pretty quiet at night even being in a louder part of Dublin, so the building has good insulation. We also hardly heard our neighbors thanks to the arrangement of the rooms - we only had one shared wall and it was bathroom to bathroom. The breakfast was great! I had the omelette and pancakes while we were here and they were both good. The banana with yogurt was also very tasty. The juice that they had was also good - I think it was a combination of orange and pineapple? Overall we really loved our stay here and we would definitely stay here again. It's close enough to walk to some attractions, and there is a hop-on hop-off stop that is close enough to walk to for others. There are groceries nearby and lots of food options to choose from. There are also laundry services nearby that you can either drop off your laundry at or have them pick up and deliver. That was crucial for us after arriving after already being on vacation for a week!

Quiet neighborhood, close to Iveagh Gardens which are lovely. A bit of a walk to restaurants and…read morepubs (which is always surprising). Gracious service, comfy bed, and the breakfast is great -- I recommend the smoked salmon and eggs.

The bus stops outside the door, so if you don't mind a bus ride you should be fine. What makes this place great is the owners. It was sort of like staying with friends. The owner was always available with directions, recommendations. The owner also recommended the Hertz shop down the road (5 minute walk down circular) which was awesome way for us to leave and return to Dublin. When we returned "sure you can use my garage." Which was nice, the 16A bus might come to his doorstep, but it is a LONG bus ride (1hr30min) from the Airport. Breakfast was good. Our room had a bathroom (en suite as they say). Price was $40 Euro a person. The room was quiet, we were never disturbed! Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend it. As rick steve's might say 1/2 the price for 2x the cultural immersion. Too bad I didn't know yelp was in Dublin before I went (I would of found restaurants!)

It has been renovated / remodeled relatively recently. Although the front room could use a 'perk me up', the bedrooms were really nice! The rates are great and include a 'made to order' breakfast. My friends loved it and were grateful for the recommendation. The B&B is run by a husband and wife team. The husband is pretty talkative and volunteers recommendations freely. He immediately welcomed me into the space and offered a full tour. As for convenience, the bus stop is right outside the front door and is conveniently an hour or so from DUB airport. A walk to City Center is about 20 minutes and the canal is about five minutes. I recommend this spot for singles or couples. It's warm and welcoming and the rooms are really nice!
