The ladies at the front desk when I first came in, were quick to give me instructions on how to sign in and where to go to find her room. One lady even walked with me to the elevator and to the room to be sure that I found it. An employee came in to help her use the restroom while I was there and he seemed nice as well. I walked with her down to dinner and there was a woman working in the eating area who also seemed very friendly and cheerful. It seems like the employees really have a love and passion for what they do here. My grandmother's room also seems very cozy and homey. Only reason I left a star off is because my grandpa has said that some of the cleaning staff (He believes) have stolen some of my grandmother's belongings, such as her phone charger and other personal items. For the price that residents and their families pay for care here, it's really sad that this slips through the cracks and doesn't get corrected.... My grandfather and mother have mentioned this to the staff and were told the cleaning staff is a separate organization from them and they can't do anything. Seems like a cop out answer to me because someone is paying this company and there are other companies in town, that may not steal they could use.... So, they could at least notify this company that this is happening..... That being said, I mostly feel very confident that she's being well cared for and is safe here and that it's a wonderful facility. I saw some of the other residents there and they seemed happy.

My grandma loves the staff and they treat her like she is their own grandmother. These are the kindest, most compassionate people I have ever met! They go way ABOVE and BEYOND what they have to do to make this place work! I have been humbled in the 2 years she has lived here. I worked in the medical profession for years and I have seen more compassion and grace here than I ever have anywhere! So grateful to God we chose this place! If your place doesn't have a Fitz, you are missing out! (Activities director/personal trainer) they have a state of the art gym that no other here in Amarillo has! If you don't have an Amanda-you are missing out! She does the craftiest crafts!!! So talented! Most of the staff has been there since we went in. They are all unique and superior in this profession!!! I want to name them each and every one but I don't want to leave any out! And BINGO!!! Big crowds of the residents competing! The sweetest people! Joe (facility director) is incredible and wears dozens of hats every day!!! You will see each and every person doing whatever needs to be done! If they are short in one area, they wear another hat! Amber, Val, Kaleigh, Danny, Tyler, Bri, Nettie, Carrie, Bradley, deslynn,...they will pick up the slack! You're lucky if Yvette answers your message in a timely manner . Stacy will ignore your message , and whoever Jacqueline is wrongfully fires workers . Many people that work here have called another co worker a "bitch" . Kembreon Hill who somehow isn't fired? Complaines about residents being wet, she doesn't understand her job description and I can't tell you how many times she has chased me and another worker out of the hall or building because she was so mad she had to do her job at 6:20am. I called her a "dumb ass bitch" because why would you work here and be mad you have to take care of someone?? She's never nice when she talks to the residents and I've heard from a few residents that "a black girl is mean to them" all thoughts went to Kembreon. After I told her she's a "bitch" she chased me around like a weirdo, threatening me many times while residents had their doors open so they could hear . She left her residents to go outside while on shift and talk to someone she had waiting about what she THINKS she's going to do to me . Mind you, IM PREGNANT . So think REAL HARD before you think about putting your loved one in this facility because anything could happen and management doesn't take care of ANYTHING.

First of all he passed away about 6 days for rent was due and they let her know that they would be taking rent out of his account as they need a 30-day notice......Yes to make sure that your relationship with God is so good that he lets you know when your loved ones going to pass away therefore you can give a 30-day notice otherwise you will be charged rent the next month. Then to top it off we were up there the day of the funeral to clean some things up in his room and she was approached by someone who worked there and handed a bill for a hundred some odd dollars for rent that was not taken out of his account. For the first few days of the next month .... it's confusing. Yes. The way it was explained to her is that they take out rent on the 10th of the month as a courtesy to everyone, but their books run rent from the first to the first of every month??? Makes zero sense. Then they hassled her about his call button and where it was. Somewhat understandable, but more than likely it got taken or was somewhere on his body when HE PASSED AWAY. They also hassled her about a cable box and remote that we returned to the cable company asap that HE was paying for. When I say hassled I don't use it lightly. Keep in mind he paid rent every SINGLE month for YEARS no problem and was never an issue for these people. She couldn't even properly grieve until she was completely done with this place because of how they treated her. It isn't really their fault at the Clairmont per say they are only doing what their management company (THE HOLIDAY TOUCH) asks of them, who by the way would NOT speak to my mother-in-law despite many many attempts on her end to get a hold of somebody or have somebody call her for management. She lost her FATHER and was treated like a tenant who was trying to skip out on bills. Beware placing your loved ones here.
