Since a friend told us to ask for Joey the sales manager he spent time with us before we ever took a test drive explaining the differences between a RDX and MDX .

They took my car apart and told me about 4 different things that needed to be fixed that had nothing to do with what is wrong with it. They priced it at $497, and when we told them we didn't have that much to spend because we already knew what was wrong and what it should cost us they told us it would still be 3 hours before our car was ready because they had to "put it back together" and the dude working on it was on a lunch break... so without even getting any service done they took 4 hours and charged us $119 just to tell us what the alleged "problem" was... they have no idea what they are doing and they are very rude and lazy.

Owner, Patrick, as well as rest of staff communicated very well throughout the process- in fact better than salvage company and even found a better deal on the part. The process took longer than expected solely due to salvage company delays. Service Street was on their game every time I called for updates and helped expedite the process faster than other locations might have. I will be back as I appreciated the staffs ability to communicate service without hesitation or attempt to upsell or find additional problems.

Ok. I have a transmission issue…read more Brought it in to determine the root-cause. They found an old (not cleared) thermostat problem that I fixed a year ago. It didn't totally close, thus not allowing the Cat o get up to temperature quickly enough. I replaced for $25 and 45 minutes, easy. Check-engine light disappeared. But obviously the code locked in. And also they said I needed a full replacement transmission. Which I don't deny may be required. , sorta. I am 71 years old, done professional car work since 17. The ONLY reason I am not doing this myself is age. But that said, before I would tear down anything I would already know what component is bad. A valve, cam sensor, etc. My symptoms are of a valve-body stuck valve, causing the clutch(s) to not fully engage. Thus I wanted a more concise explanation for why I should give them $5,000 - $6,000 to replace the entire Xmission. I really should have had a talk with the trained mechanic that could go into depth about the detailed reason it is giving me problems. But I got the worker at the register explaining the estimate to me. I have 100% confidence she has ZERO true mechanical knowledge/training past what to say. She should have called the Tech to talk to me. Had that happened I would have set an appointment to have it replaced. But given the weak thermostat ($330) ghost diag, I had zero confidence about the rest of their work. Reminds me of "give a kid a hammer and everything looks like a nail".

After arriving at Pep Boys and having them checked out. The mechanic said one of the tires had a screw in the sidewall and wasn't repairable. So after speaking with the manager I went ahead and agreed to a replacement tire. Total price $131.34. I'm standing outside the bay when the mechanic then asks about the wheel lock. He still couldn't find it even though I said twice it was in the glove compartment. Then he lets me into the Bay Area to retrieve the wheel lock. Then I thought to take a picture of my low tire. After standing there for awhile I noticed there was a large screw laying in the parking lot right in front of the Bay Area. A few minutes later out comes the manager and asks why I'm taking a picture of her mechanic. I let her know I did not take a picture of her mechanic. I took a picture of my tire and also the screw laying in front of the bay. Also, I said to her I'm too old to be looking at young boys. Really she thinks a 50 something is after a teenager or 20 something. Get real. When I asked for corporate's phone number she said 1-800- Pep Boys. No one answered. After paying for the tire I let her know I would not return to that location. " Tires are expensive" quoted from the mechanic who installed the tire. If you plan on going to the Pep Boys at 106 Market Place Blvd, Knoxville Tennessee be on the lookout for large screws laying in front of the Bay Area.

Prices that don't deplete your pocketbook and truly good professional service with pride and a satisfaction guarantee... yes is still apart of the Southern Grace ....but.... Make sure you check around... because we've found there is the opposite unfortunately.... And this comes with growth which we know is evident. We would like to personally thank Tyler and his entire staff at service Street Tire and Auto repair ... our Dodge Ram was in need of brakes and pads. We spoke with Tyler after reading some recommendations on yelp regarding Service Street. He was able to take care of our truck that day and the price was exceptional, along with the guarantee and the service. We had a concern in another area on the truck, which had been told to us earlier in the year that this was in need of repair .... The mechanic took my husband into the shop and validated the fact that there was no need for repair at this time what so ever! We feel extremely fortunate to have found Service Street... and appreciate not only Tyler, but the mechanics who worked with us. Extremely professional, friendly, and it just felt good to know this is a place that will take care of our vehicles and be honest and upfront . If you are looking for someplace to service your vehicle, I highly recommend that you try SERVICE STREET TIRE AND AUTO REPAIR.... You will not be disappointed.

When I first used this location in October 2024 things went great! Not so much this time…read more I took my car in on March 25th. The guy at the desk told me to expect six hours of labor and a pickup of the next day. Another guy came up to help him with something on the computer and my total jumped $500 over what I'd been told a week earlier. I should have left then. First a tech called out. Then some things couldn't be helped like a broken bolt and ordering a part. I get that. On the 11th day I was told it looked like it would be ready that afternoon. After the test drive it had problems. They'd let the only tech they wanted to look at it go home though. It was a Friday so that left me without my car for another weekend. On day 14 they said it was ready. When I got in and started it, it was sputtering. The idle was seriously like a jackhammer. I went around the block with it and came back. The guy at the desk didn't know what to do but did again tell me they'd have it the next day. His favorite line, I guess. The tech came up with an attitude saying he hadn't done the initial test drive. Common sense could tell anyone what I was given wasn't okay. The next day no one called so I called and Tyler tried to say he had been on the phone when all that went down. He was with another customer part of the time but not on the phone. I had to wait 18 minutes for a Lyft. He had time to speak to me. I tried to call and get in touch with the regional manager. They never called me. I also kept hearing how other cars were being done first. You left a disabled single parent without a car for more than half a month but yeah, other cars came first. I finally got my car on the 17th day of the ordeal. I had to clean some kind of black stuff out of my seat before I got in. Now during all of this I was having to pay for Ubers, grocery delivery, rescheduling important medical appointments. This situation seriously drained me with all the hundreds of dollars in extra unexpected things. There was the emotional toll of thinking they completely destroyed my car. It was an absolute nightmare.
