I am sure we have not found everything yet, as they just left a matter of hours ago. One dresser is missing a leg. They had to know about that, but did not tell us. We would not have been as mad if they had told us of the errors.

Southern Illinois movers moved me and my family from Carbondale to Memphis…read more They came to the house and gave me a quote. I had others as well. They had the best one so we chose them. After they packed our things and held them for us in Duquoin, per our request. They changed the price on me. They called 24 hours before delivery of our furnishings and told me I owed 1,300.00 more. I had already paid the majority of it ...when they packed us up. Then they showed up the the new home and told us we actually owed another 2,700.00. I was surprised and irritated over this because they had just 24 hours ago confirmed what I owed. I spoke with the guy in charge...don't know his name and he was very sorry but when he called me earlier he said he didn't have the proper paperwork in front of him when he had called yesterday and that we actually did owe the larger amount. I seldom get irritated or assertive with people but this is ridiculous. He would not let the driver and crew unload our things until we paid the amount in full. As I argued with him about his sloppy business practices our furnishings were held hostage!! Finally they gave us a small and I mean small credit and allowed the crew to unload. After unloading, as I unpacked we ran across many broken items. I understand that sometimes things get broken during a move but there is a list of about 22 items that were irreparably harmed during the move. Some were memory items my dad had made. Can't replace that.!! I would not recommend using this company unless you want poor service and a bill about 3,000.00 more than you expected to pay.

Mayberry Moving was hired by me on a move-in to Carbondale and a move out only 10 months later,…read moreand packed my rented Penske truck (which I rented from them), with great care. The Penske trucks are reliable and newer models. They are professionals and on request put down floor protectors and made sure the truck was packed well, not only for transportation but also to protect the integrity of my furniture and boxed items, which (I did my part) I had blanketed in moving pads and shrink wrapped as well as packed carefully. Thank you so much, Mayberry Moving!

You are messing with people's lives here. I received a confirmation call the day before my move telling me they would be there between 8am and 10am. Great! I had been packing my house for weeks, and even stayed up until three in the morning the night before the move making sure we had things ready to go. Four hours of sleep is terrible, but at least I would not have to do all the heavy lifting myself! Right? WRONG. At 8:15am the day of the move, I receive a call telling me they will not be able to move me that day due to a crew leader having an emergency the night before. There was not even an apology, no "I'm sorry", no offer to move me the following day, no offer for the owner to step in and cover the shift of their employee. This was Saturday, and the earliest they could move me was Tuesday. EVERYTHING IN MY HOUSE WAS PACKED AND READY TO GO. I had the internet being shut off at the old place that Monday (I work from home) and being installed at the new place the day of the move. I had other maintenance people scheduled that afternoon. Because I thought I would def be available in the afternoon if we had movers coming in the morning. I was supposed to have all day Sunday to relax and unpack my house to get ready for the week to begin. BUT NO, WE JUST HAD TO RENT A UHAUL AND DO IT OURSELVES over two days of backbreaking work. I luckily had three saints of friends come help us, or I don't know if we could have even done it. Thanks for nothing, Mayberry. If you do not have enough crew to cover when one of your employees has a family emergency, you DO NOT have enough crew. You are messing with people's lives here.

Fun fact-- our couch always creaked when you sit on it and once they took it apart to move it and put it back together, it didn't creak any more! Wow! We compared the price of other movers in the area and they were by far the most cost effective. I would absolutely recommend them to a friend and wouldn't think twice about using this company again.

From misquoting, to not having the right size trucks that they tried to shove our belongings into. To all the damaged, lost, or stolen property. This was also back in July. We submitted a claim, still nothing. The person that came to our home, tried to bully us, now to find out he is no longer there as he has been arrested. The new person wants us to start all over, they have all of our information have had plenty of time. This is already two months out. They even raised our price during the move! Day one, packing! Thank goodness I did the bulk, but let them do some stuff. Lets just say I found glass jars thrown in a box with canned goods. I went through each kitchen box they packed and repacked. Also found one cabinet was still unpacked. They wanted to wrap 65" tvs in blankets. I went and bought boxes and we did it ourselves yet they had charged us for them! Seriously. Then they destroyed the boxes in the move. So much damage to furniture. They brought two trucks but one was not the correct one, ended up getting a third truck and then they switched the two smaller trucks for a big one. Am adding a few pictures of their damage, again this is only a sample. Yet they don't want to pay anything, one excuse after another. Do not trust this company. Weird as I look at reviews, I have an email from Andrew stating they have never had a bad review. I see several.
