I just had a meal at this restaurant and it was a solid 5/5.
FIrstly they have parking for anyone who drives. Secondly we were greeted as soon as we came in. We did have to make a dinner reservation as today was a Friday night and everyone is usually out and about.
The menu is on a big black chalkboard and you order before you are seated. The menu was extensive with exciting and unusual dishes including kangaroo. Mind you that the food was pricey, but totally worth it if you are looking to have a tasty meal that will definitely fill you up. Our server (blonde lady) was also very nice and attentive.
Drinks: 2 cokes, and a large glass of Merlo: £9
We went straight for mains:
1. Beef fillet with blue cheese and port sauce (with veggies and mashedgarlic potato): £20
-Cooked the way i asked it to be cooked and the beef was fresh and a solid
piece of meat. The size was massive and it tasted soooo good!! The garlic
potatoes were amazing and the veggies were very fresh. 5/5
2. Kangaroo Fillet with butternut squash and mashed garlic potatoes and veggies: £16
-Presented in an un-intimidating way (like a steak) and it was cooked perfectly
as ordered. Mashed potatoes were fantastic and the kangaroo tasted a lot
like sirloin steak. 5/5
3. Sirloin steak medallion with caramelised onion in red wine sauce and chips with veggies: £18
-Cooked as ordered. Everything about it was good. 5/5
We didn't have room for dessert as we had more food than we can handle for our mains. Overall it was about £64, but it was really worth it. The portion sizes were massive and the food was tasty. The service was nice and the atmosphere was pub like. Make sure to make reservations for dinner service as it tends to get quite full. read more
