We found 1 hand pulled cask with the owner telling us it was a little sour and that is 'how the locals prefer it'. We all had keg Doombar but that was also poor as though the cleanliness was not good. We should have walked out but due to many places being closed on Mondays we moved to the dining area. We got a table for two, and since I was driving, I couldn't drink, but the other half had a couple of different beers, one of which was a local one. We decided to start with cheese souffles (because how often do you see one of those on the menu?) and I ordered the venison for my main. The other half went with the triple curry plate, because on Monday nights they have a special curry night where they offer three different curries. Apparently they do several nights like this as they were advertising Tuesday nights for pies (three different ones) and a Thursday steak special. Good to know. The souffles were pretty amazing. But to return to the more important aspects of having a restaurant, the food is really good. The service is fast and every time i've gone they've been incredibly friendly. I've even blundered into a quiz night by total chance which was really well run (though i might be saying that as i won a bottle of wine!).
