I highly recommend Sergio Luis for any floor work you might need!…read more A couple of weeks ago, my tenant (who lives in my single condo unit in Washington, DC--I live in Los Angeles now), contacted me to say that the wood floors in the foyer near the utility closet had "raised up." I don't know any flooring folks so I went to Yelp and posted my need for a flooring expert to go out to the apartment and assess the situation. Sergio Luis from Artistic Hardwood Floors responded in a timely fashion. I noted they had great reviews--which is the first thing I look for--and he went out to the property later that day. As suspected, the raised floors were due to an HVAC leak in the utility closet. Long/short, Sergio's crew took out the floor and subfloors on Thursday, 7/3 and finished the work today, 7/7 (the concrete underneath needed time to dry plus it was the holiday weekend). The picture he sent of the finished product looked good. I don't know how much it costs to replace hardwood floors and blend them with the existing floors, but the price seemed fair to me. He also connected me with his long-time colleague, a plumber and HVAC technician to work on that piece, so it felt like a full-service situation going on, which was really helpful. Apparently plumbers and HVAC experts have a symbiotic relationship, which makes sense--Sergio had already surmised, even with the floors being dry and before he went to my condo, that it was an HVAC leak responsible for the raised floors. What I appreciated the most about Sergio was his communication (prompt and courteous), his thoroughness in explaining the situation and the work that needed to be done, and just his help overall since I live 3,000 miles away. He was very kind and helpful. And, they are professional experts at what they do. I am definitely keeping his information in my phone moving forward!

Absolutely Outstanding Craftsmanship and Service!…read more We had an amazing experience with Vintage Wood Floors & Stairways from start to finish. Their team completely transformed our staircase! They removed our old bannister and installed a stunning new red oak bannister, which they carefully sanded, stained, and finished to perfection. They also painted our existing risers and side skirts, and even custom-made a beautiful square bottom tread and riser that really completes the look. Arnold's installers clearly took great pride in their craftsmanship. Their attention to detail was noticeable from day one. From the careful removal of the existing bannister to the precision cuts and painting of the new one, we knew we were dealing with the best in the business. Not only that, they arrived on time every morning during the five-day installation (even on a Saturday), worked efficiently, and cleaned up thoroughly before leaving each day. They were professional, respectful, and an absolute pleasure to have in our home. The end result is flawless. Our staircase looks better than we ever imagined. We could not be more satisfied and recommend Vintage Wood Floors & Stairways without reservation to anyone looking for quality work and true attention to detail!

He came back with a price that was reasonable but a bit out of my price range. He suggested changing out the most expensive items but I didn't want to do that. Those items were what I loved about the upgrade. Fast forward a year later. Again, Arnold responded to my text quickly. He repriced the job after neither of us could find the notes. We worked out a payment plan and a schedule. I tweaked some things as start date approached and I found more finales on eBay. His three guys showed up right on schedule on a Monday morning. As every other reviewer noted, the professionalism, attention to detail, cleanliness, and skill was exemplary. I highly recommend them for your stairs!

I got the highest quality product + installation, for a better price than those offering more inferior flooring at supposed great discounts. The installation team (2) completed ~1000 sq ft., in one day. I watched them the entire time (b/c I like to learn) and they did everything right (I studies up on this). Joe arrived at the end of the day - to check on the work, and encouraged me to call should I ever have concerns or issues, 2 weeks out and I have no issues. I will have them back when I'm ready to install this beautiful floor on my upstairs level. I highly recommend Prospect, they are the kind of company (family-owned) that is rare to find and truly cares about their service and clients

If you're looking for the best price for poor quality, you've come to the right place. Was told…read morethey could stain hardwood floors for our stairs at a 90% match to our laminate flooring. First results were 20% match if that, don't know, too hard to calculate that low. They threw a fit when we demanded they redo them. After second attempt, the poor sanding job was 100% visible as if these hardwood steps had been used and scuffed for 50 years. Sure they finally got the color up to 60% match (still wrong), but here I am left with cheaper pricing on flooring that looks as if it needs to be restored from generations of use. Pay a slightly higher price and go somewhere else. Oh, and I'll remove this review if you come fix the horrendous stain work. Until then, this review stays.
