Had to wait in the drive thru for over 20 minutes! Food wasn't as good as other Hardees I've been to.

It's all in the name!!!!!…read more Just got done eating at the Cottonwood Grill and what I had was the best burger in New Ulm (BBNU). They did not lie, that burger was by far the best burger I've had in this town. It definitely makes my top 10 list of burgers that I've ever had. Picture below. I decided to adoring my burger with some applewood bacon and I can safely say that my choice was the right choice. Thick slices, but not too thick where it overpowers the burger, great addition if you are looking for a burger and want just a bit more. Maybe you are asking why I did not give this restaurant five stars? That would be a fair question. I'm going to have to deduct a star because of their French fries. While they appeared to look very good, I guess I will never know because they were overpowered by salt. I found myself petting every single fry that I consumed to scrape the overwhelming amount of salt off of it to truly see if I was enjoying the french fries. The only positive aspect to this is I know I'm going to have good luck for the next couple weeks for all the salt I threw over my shoulder. Friendly service, beautiful view of the golf course and the drink just outside the windows. Friendly bartender and waitstaff, also a very nice bathroom on the facility. Those things are important. Highly recommend, just maybe ask for some fries without salt

I ordered tonight the shrimp and scallops scampi in cream sauce. There were 4 shrimp along with the teeny tiny salad scallops. I got the side salad (Ceasar) to go. There was no dressing when I got home. Just romain lettuce with the fake parmasean like you get in packets. No croutons...no dressing. Taste was very bland. Reminded me of a stoufers frozen meal.

Nice park with great concessions and cool seating! After they won their game our team of hungry ballplayers and assorted family members descended on this quaint bar and grill nearby to support the local businesses. The bar and grill had lots of space! They had a typical bar area when you first walked in. Then further back they had two good sized additional rooms for private parties. We took up the smaller space with the ladies retreating back to the bar area for lunch. I was impressed with their variety on their drink menu. So much to choose from! Most of the Moms enjoyed Bloody Mary's and a few other pink drinks. The Dads mostly had beers. The players enjoyed some local 1919 root beer from Schell's brewery. A few of us chose ice water and fountain sodas to drink which was served well water. So the young teens from the Twin Cities were not enjoying the flavor much! So just be forewarned that this is an unincorporated community and stick to bottled drinks if you can't appreciate that extra flavor! We overwhelmed them with a huge group and our waitress did amazing taking care of us! Looking back we should have ordered all of the player's food first and then the parents, but it was probably easier separate ticket-wise. Thankfully we had time before our next game. And was it worth it? Most definitely! I had the best mushroom Swiss burger I've ever tasted with the freshest bun! The crinkle cut fries and ranch dressing we're perfect! Crispy crinkles on the outside with soft potato goodness on the inside. My ballplayer had the club, which he had to smoosh down to fit in his mouth! The others around us enjoyed their fried fish sandwich with onion rings, bacon burgers, and everything else in between! The food here was excellent quality with great flavor! By the looks of their menu they had fun events and happenings going on too. Plus attached to the back rooms we were in they had a spacious covered patio and good sized uncovered patio. For a delicious diner style burger or sandwich this is the small town spot to stop at! If you're even luckier hopefully you can catch a ball game down at the other end of Main Street! It's like you were transported back in time.

We ordered two appetizers: a jalapeño popper app which was meh and stuffed ravioli bits which was rich and delicious! For a main I got a French dip sandwich which was wonderful. When I think of tapas I think of seafood, manchego cheese, jamon, pisto, etc, The choices were heavy on carbs, pasta, sandwiches and bread. It seemed more like a minnesota appetizer menu than true tapas. Beer selection is very limited- Coors light, Schell's, and Grain Belt. I know their specialty is cocktails, but it have been great to have been able to choose from other Minnesota microbrews. The stuffed portabella mushrooms were delicious, but plating could use some work (see my pic, it's really plain looking). We also liked the Pomodoro. The Sour German was just OK. We didn't care for the type of pork used and both agreed corned beef would have been a big improvement. All in all, I think the concept is a bit confusing. I would have been more pleased if the expectation of tapas hadn't been set. The menu looked like Minnesota-Italian fusion. Service was quick and friendly. We visited in the winter, I'd go back in the summer for a cocktail on their roof. That appears to be their sweet spot and where their atmosphere truly shines.
