The food was disgusting and not fresh. We saw a dead cockroach outside the kitchen door. The customer service wasnt so great either.

I didn't plan to have lunch at Macado's. After getting a flat tire on I-81 in Tennessee (Thanks,…read moreTDOT!), my road trip companions and I limped our wounded vehicle to Marion Chevrolet and rolled into town around noon. We were dangerously close to reaching peak "hangry" status, so we sought immediate refuge at Macado's. If you've ever stepped foot inside a TGI Fridays or an Applebee's, you will feel right at home here. The ambiance is very casual, with a decor aesthetic I'd describe as 'vintage American kitsch' (which is a sophisticated way to say 'random stuff on the walls'), and the menu is a sprawling master class in tavern classics. They've got the holy trinity of bar appetizers (wings, nachos, potato skins), plus quesadillas, burgers, flatbreads, a couple of traditional pub entrees, and a list of sandwiches and wraps so long it requires a table of contents. The location itself is perfect, sitting right on Marion's quaint downtown Main Street. It's positioned just across from the historic Lincoln Theatre and the General Francis Marion Hotel. For lunch, I ordered "The Rabbit" ($12) -- a straightforward tortilla wrap packed with chicken salad, lettuce, and tomato, served with potato salad. The wrap was actually pretty tasty and successfully talked me down from my hangry ledge. The potato salad, however, was having an identity crisis. It was missing a little personality; a splash of mustard or an aggressive shake of salt and pepper would have really kicked it up a notch. Thankfully, the service was great. Our server must have sensed our post-highway trauma because they kept our non-alcoholic drinks topped off without us ever having to beg or flag him down across the bar. The ultimate plot twist? The car issues were severe enough that one of my friends wound up stranded in Marion for two extra days. With limited options, he ended up eating at Macado's a few more times and confirmed that the rest of the menu is pretty good, too. It's a solid spot in my book and I'll keep it in mind next time I'm looking for someplace to eat in the area. PRO TIP: If you happen to be visiting someone at the Marion Correctional Center or the Smyth County Jail, this place is a reliably tasty, no-fuss stop for a solid meal nearby.

That probably makes an entire pans worth now that someone ate besides me!! Point being it's Friday night and they're already suffering in the kitchen!! Beware‼
