Food - burger was 4 Stars. I think it was actually served on a toasted bun instead of the sourdough bread but it was nicely toasted and worked. Restaurant interior - 1 Star. We are in a road trip so this was a stop for a bathroom and stretch legs break, and in that respect this was an unfortunate choice. A sign on the ladies room reads that the [only] toilet is broken ("please stop using it"). This could have been a deal-breaker but my husband was with me and checked the men's room then guarded the door while I used it. It was very not clean. The rest of the restaurant was not very clean, either. The self-serve drink machine spit on you as it dispensed. Overall unappetizing atmosphere. read more

Stopped at Hardee's in Amherst VA for lunch on our roadtrip. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that the Women's bathroom had an inoperative toilet (see picture of sign posted on bathroom door). The restaurant was "reasonably" clean, but the Men's bathroom could use some attention. I had to guard the Men's room to allow my wife to use the facilities. Our Frisco burgers were good and met expectations. The drink station could use a cleaning. read more

I would like to begin with my experience was pretty bad here recently, not so much the food, but the cashier I met recently when I went through for lunch was horrid he was the rudest young man I've ever met and had a terrible attitude, I ordered lunch for me and my kids and he acted like it was the end of the world to ring me up, sighing and groaning and when I asked simple questions about the burgers he seemed very annoyed and sighing. I heard another employee there call him "Francis", and when he finally brought me my food after I can only determine as going into the back and playing games because he also had one of those earbuds in, and didn't even say have a good day. I have never had a worse experience at this hardees, and I come here often on my way to and from work. And I've never met this individual before, I don't know if I'll be back after this... other than this experience, all the other cashiers that work here are very nice and always helpful to me... read more

This is my stop for my bacon, egg and cheese in the morning. Good stuff! It's always hot with plenty of bacon. The service is pretty good too and is usually fast. The restaurant seems like any other Hardee's, nothing fancy. It's pretty clean and not too hard to get in and out of off 29. read more

Amherst is limited in drive thru fast food and since McDonald's is our usual stop, we decided to hit Hardee's. Yep, it was a Hardee's. The food was fast, hot, and matched the description of what we ordered. Our special order was hot and tasted good. Nothing burned or cold or old. Everything seemed fresh and we were happy. Folks were courteous and professional. No problems here and since it matched what our expectations were for a Hardee's, we give it five stars. We will be back. read more

Lunch five dollar meal is excellent french fries were hot and chili dog was good. Would recommend adding some onions to the chili dog menu.

So gross. Hardee's isn't exactly the highest end of fast food, but none of us finished our food. This location was awful. We're on a road trip so we could go back and fix it or complain. We waited forever and we got room temp fries, the wrong sandwich, and a salad where the shredded cheese was so dried out it was literally a different color. Two bites in and I was so done. My husband actually spit out a bite of his wrong chicken sandwich and refused to eat more. Run far away from this place. read more

The cashier was very rude. Never said thank you. Walked away while I was getting my money out. He went somewhere in the back. He cursed in front of me. I would give a name but his name tag was turned around. I guess it was his name tag. He is white with shoulder length red hair. He had a knit hat on. Not friendly towards me at all. I sat there eating and heard him being nice to others. I don't know him so it's not a conflict between us. Hardee's in Amherst Virginia will never get my business again. Stoped at 3:00pm today 6/16/2020 late lunch. Ordered the$5 chicken tender combo at the drive through. Chicken was all dried up and cold same for ff. Tried to get someone to answer phone for over 30 minutes. Gave up . Tried again later . Manager answered . Told her my complaint. She come back and she would make me a fresh combo. I told she should have done that the first time. Told her I had been in and out of the restaurant business for 60 years and and none of my people would even think of serving food that had sat out drying out since lunch read more

This place is real hit or miss. Sometimes they are prompt, friendly and the food is great. Others, like today, the staff is rude, the food is cold and you wait 15 mins in the drive through line with only 3 other cars. read more

Not up to Hardees usual standards. We stopped on the way through town and ordered 3 hamburgers and 1 order of chicken tenders. 1 of the burgers we specifically requested NO ONIONS. Well it came with onions. The receipt had the correct order so we took the sandwich back and it was remade - This time with NO MEAT! How do you make a hamburger without meat?? Stopped in this morning at 10am the Hardee's in Amherst. Stood in line for 20 mins to order, went to go sit down and the tables were filthy as were the floors! Mine you this is still 1020 in the morning! My husband went an asked to have the table that we wanted to sit out, wiped down. They workers response in front of other customers " do you just want your food to go" my husband responded " no, I want to sit down and eat". The lady responded back " well, we will get to the tables when all theses orders are taken". Also, the Manager on duty was there, literally beside her and said nothing to her!!! So my question is... does Hardee's allow rudeness, disrespect to a paying customer?! So, needless to say we got our money back and left! We had 3 people walk out with us. read more
