After a journey thru an office building found the cupcakes!!
    Daryl P.

Stopping in on this hidden gem in a office building for a sweet treat, luckily the food truck outside showed us the way. My sister and I both grabbed cupcakes for a treat; one German chocolate cupcake with coconut and a lemon cheesecake cupcake. Sweet and tart just like the two of us. Tried a bite of hers which was just enough sweetness for me while mine was nice and light to compliment hers. They said they would be opening a place in Southington and can't wait to stop in when they do!

Stopped here at 4pm on a Saturday and there weren't too many cupcakes left but we did get four cupcakes to go - two chocolate, cannoli, and peanut butter. Like other reviewers have noted, the cake part of the cupcake is somewhat dry and there's lots of buttercream frosting. The bakery itself is pretty large with plenty of seating so you can sit and enjoy your cupcake if you like. Make sure to get here early if you'd like a better selection of cupcakes

When you pull in this plaza it isn't easy to find . There is a clock and wooden doors outside the main entrance to a lobby with a elevator where you need to take to the 2nd floor ,then loop around some halls til you smell sweet deliciousness. Phew !!!! They have a Insta-worthy wall outside their business itself which we had to stop and take some flicks infront of immediately. They didn't have much on-hand for 11am (about 10 choices ) I expected more flavors & choices ,but we found a few that seemed good. They had a vegan lemon cupcake with a champagne frosting that was ok (tad dry ) and a raspberry one with alot of frosting ontop (not overly sweet) they had a white brownie & peanut butter cup cupcake we chose too. Red velvet was pretty good . I'm sure they get alot more orders online then walk-ins here. It's very clean & organized here and they do sell other treats like chocolate covered marshmallows on a stick or cake pops & cookies.

So i am not sure if it was because they were at the Elephant flea market and being sold out of a truck but the cupcake its self was on the dry side. A little more moisture in them would have put them over the top. We had 2 different types one was the peanut butter which was good. The flavors were there but not over the tops. The second one was a chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting in the middle with chocolate frosting on top with cookie in the middle. This was lacking any flavor, everything seemed just to melt together. I will have to take a trip to the store to really compare, but from the truck i would pass.

When it comes to a great overall neighborhood establishment, you can't beat Hardcore Sweets! We have been frequenting them for several years in their store as well as their cupcake truck at local fairs & events thru out the state. Most recently we have crossed paths with them for some very different celebrations over the past month. A date night, Valentine's Day, a baby shower & my husband's birthday. We are loving that they just aren't a cupcake shop that has 9-5 hours, they really are invested in the community. The Friday night before Valentines Day we went to the "Let's Taco about Love" which highlighted two other great vendors & a really fun date night. The next day, I took my niece to the Valentines Day kids decorating class, she had such a great time as the entire class was hands on. My only issue was that there probably was too many kids, I know it's hard to turn away families but it got really chaotic. For my baby shower last month they worked with my sister & custom made mini Girl Scout samosa & Oreo cupcakes (my two favorites) in addition to the most incredible lemon/raspberry cake. Everyone is still raving about the bite sized cupcakes. Lastly, I worked with Nicole to make a chocolate peanut butter candy drip cake for my husband. A.) it looked friggin amazing & B.) it tasted absolutely incredible, especially the peanut butter mousse inside! I loved that they were so open to just running with it & really made my husbands birthday! You can't go wrong here, everything has been great!

My husband picked up half a dozen assorted for my birthday, very good! The double chocolate was a little bit dry for me, but we really loved the red velvet and hot chocolate cupcakes! We definitely would like to go back and try additional flavors!

Hands down the best bakery In the area. The owners and staff are down to earth and sweet as pie. There is always an amazing selection of goodies to pick from. Be a kind soul and get some treats for you friends and family. Also, location is cool, love the artwork and it's fun to watch the cakes getting dolled up. Make sure to try the lemon bar, oh my gosh..amazing!

My experience with Hardcore Sweet Cupcakes so far has been amazing. Every time I've had their cupcakes, it's been at certain events where their cupcake truck served only vegan cupcakes. I've never been to their main business location, but I'm hoping to make it up there sometime soon. At this point, I think I've had the opportunity to visit their truck 4 or 5 times at various events. I've probably tried 7 or 8 different varieties of their vegan cupcakes. I'm pretty sure I've never had the same flavor twice, which makes me wonder...how many different varieties do they have? Some of their cupcakes I had 2 or 3 years ago now, so it's hard for me to remember each variety. No matter, they were all amazing! The cupcakes in the photo were from a big summer vegan event I go to every year. I usually get at least two different ones every time. The varieties are always clever and creative. Red Velvet, some coconutty delish cupcake, banana cream...too many to remember. One thing I wonder is if they can make vegan versions of all their cupcakes, why not just nix the eggs and dairy and go all vegan all the time? I've eaten enough vegan baked goods and done enough vegan baking myself to know that there's no difference in quality, taste, or texture. The cost of the ingredients for vegan baking are PROBABLY the same or less. They wouldn't even have to call themselves "vegan" if they believe the the label would somehow negatively effect sales. Oreo cookies don't say "vegan" on the package, but they are. Even if accidentally because the ingredients are cheaper than eggs and dairy. In any case, my experiences with Hardcore Sweet have been fantastic! I hope to have an opportunity to enjoy their cupcakes again very soon!

This place rules! Drove with my husband all the way from Cincinnati to check this place out. The owner was there, Jeremy. Such a sweetheart! We came in only 15minutes before they closed and got what ever we could. Cupcakes were moist and well decorated! Can't wait to come back again! Everyone was super friendly and amazing Thank you Jeremy and everyone working tonight.

Custom cake I had them make

Absolutely love this place! I had my step daughters 5 year old birthday today, the main person I worked with was Kyle. Absolutely an amazing person, kept me updated throughout the week with updates how my cake was, how I should store it, and for any other silly questions I had, he responded right back! Amazing staff and amazing quality cakes! Prices are amazing because once I got my special order cake I only showed him a picture of, this place went above and beyond and better than the photo I had showed them! Thank you all so much Kyle, and the staff!

Im crazy about cupcakes and must be fresh! After reading reviews, called in and picked up 8 pack of various flavors cupcakes which did not disappoint! So glad we did last weekend. They are incredible! Moist, not too sweet and fun flavors. Our favorites were: sure thing, holy land, grandmas boy. Definitely better than Magnolia, Buttercup and anything we've had from NYC and beyond. Off the beaten path in an office Park, makes it part of the fun to find. Can't wait to order birthday cakes and more!

They have a dining room that seats about 50, and a bar that seats around eight. They also have a very cute outdoor seating area covered by a large awning. The menu is Continental cuisine leaning toward Italian, and is very well balanced where everyone should he able to find a satisfying meal. Our experience began with a couple of very unique "East Side Martinis", vodka, cucumber, muddled mint and lime.....so good I had to have a second one! We were then treated (gratis) to the absolutely best bruschetta I've ever eaten.....loaded with chopped tomato, onion, and garlic. Fantastico! For an entree I had the Maple Glazed Pork Tenderloin Medallions with mashed potatoes and braised cabbage. A perfect melding of complimentary flavors. This restaurant clearly has no issues with making very flavorful choices when it comes to spices and accents. The wife had the Chicken Special with fettuccine and lemon butter white wine sauce that was also very flavorful and excellent. Everything was so good that we had to get dessert, a slice of Almond Joy pie to go. The owner, Sue, a baker / chef, is typically in attendance, and has heen running the restaurant for ten years now. Our server, Jen, was attentive and experienced. They have a Happy Hour on Monday through Friday 3 to 6 pm. I'd highly recommend this place for everyone! UPDATE: Ate the Almond Joy pie the next day. The crushed almond & chocolate crust was incredible, and the chocolate glazed coconut was delicious.

Fascia's Chocolates is a family-owned chocolaterie that opened in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1964…read more It was founded by husband and wife John & Helen Fascia. An electronic technician by trade, John worked for the Bristol Company. He began to roast nuts and sold them at work to supplement the young family's income. In an effort to increase sales, he and Helen began making chocolates in their basement. In addition to chocolate nut clusters, they soon began to make caramels, toffee and creams. The chocolates became so popular that soon the Fascia's basement operation couldn't keep up with the supply and demand. By 1978, they opened their first retail store on Meriden Road. Two years later, John quit his job so he could make chocolate full time. John and & Helen were soon joined by their three young daughters Louise, Lynne and Laurie. In 1985, the business moved to an expanded storefront on Wolcott Street. As business continued to grow, the business would relocate to Lakewood Road in 1990, Thomaston Avenue in 2008, and finally to Chase River Road in 2013. The Fascia Family still runs the business, although John & Helen are now semi-retired. My family and I recently visited Fascia's Chocolates to attend a special "Chocolate Experience". We were escorted into a small room with other attending families. There we were greeted by Company President Carmen Romeo, who happens to be married to Louise Fascia. He quickly informed us, "I may be the President, but my wife and her sister are the real bosses." He gave us all a presentation where he discussed the history of the company as well as chocolate production in general. He gave all attendees samples of the three main types of chocolate (Dark, Milk & White) and discussed the differences. Afterwards, all children were able to make their own chocolate bar with their choice of toppings. My sons both picked rice cereal and Fruity Pebbles. We also got to take a look at what happens in the production area. After the experience, we all went into the retail shop and explored all of the delicious chocolates that Fascia's produces. While I distracted my sons, my wife discreetly purchased some chocolate coins for St. Patrick's Day and chocolate bunnies for Easter. We all had a great experience at Fascia's Chocolates and hope to enjoy their delicious chocolate again!

The staff brought us to the back room where they go over the history of Fascia's chocolates, the different types and percentages of chocolate as well as other delicacies they make in their stores. We were even able to watch them make other candies live while we made our own. We made a chocolate bar with melted chocolate, decorated it with our candy selection and were able to bring it home. Definitely worth the time and price to learn a little history and take home a sweet treat!
