Once the lot is full, there is very little (if any) street parking anywhere in the vicinity. I was told to go very early (0730) to guarantee a spot, and even at that point the lot was over half full. The park itself is basically one giant sloped area. There is a picnic gazebo, a flat outdoor area, and a kids' playground. Then there is the nice beautiful view of the water and surrounding area. Facilities are available just a few minutes S by the kayak club. Not sure if I'd come here just for the park, but it is worth checking out if one is already here for Quarry Rock.

Those that not only has setup their 20 people Julius Caesar tents but also invited an army of people to their intimate loud music playing party. FYI, others may not enjoy your brand of metal rap. Or those that bring their Canadian Tire little power boats and pumps. For reasons unbeknownst to me, does being on beach equal to doing whatever you want? Social etiquette is shed with the clothes. So, simply reviewing this, may adulterate this pristine little sandy beach and lake into that monstrosity. It is a good kept secret. Beautiful clean water and beach. Not a lot of nutters yet.

One of my favourite little spots is the pond along the edge of the beach, where I've spotted beautiful swans. It's the opposite of the busy seawall and a perfect place to watch nature. I especially love the nighttime here where you get to take in all the glory of the Lions Gate Bridge and the sparkling lights of the city. Ambleside Beach is a rare place that somehow still manages to make you feel peaceful in the middle of a very busy city.

Lovely park in East Vancouver…read more This is my go to relax spot at the park. You have beautiful views of North Vancouver and all the mountains. The bridge on the right is quite beautiful. You can watch ships sail through the sea. Everytime I come here, there's not many people, it's so relaxing. There's a playground for kids. The grass is green and pristine. Free parking is a plus. Very safe, no homeless people. There's a soccer field that's rarely used. There's a small rocky beach. You can swim if you dare. This is almost a hidden gem of Vanouver. The pool is awesome except the staff suck and getting entry is pulling teeth (see my review).

Looks like there is nowhere near enough parking during the summer months. There are also a few spots on the street. The park offers a very nice view of Burrard Inlet and the North Shore. There is also a large dog park, an outdoor pool, and some tennis courts. Looks like a prime place to visit and chill during the warmer months.

That was at the height of summer on a weekend. Now I only come here on weekdays and weekend outside of summer. It is a fairly big park with a pier at one side, and walking trails and beach on the other. I much prefer the walking trails area with little cove areas where you can put your beach blanket or mat down and chill. Washrooms are available between the two areas. You can swim, kayak and fish/crab from here. Paid parking is near the pier and for those taking their boats out. Otherwise it is free parking in the other areas.

The shops around the area are small boutiques stores and all of them excell in what they serve. Food, ice cream , cloths and everything in between is sold in these shops. There is kayak and boat rental as well . Once I tried kayaking which can be scary for people who try for the first time but it's worth the adrenaline rush. I like this place even with the hustle and bustle of friends and family on a weekend.

Walking around the massive, ancient trees provides a deep sense of peace and wonder. It is scenic and accessible for hiking in the area.

The highlight of this park is a lovely, historic lighthouse built on a huge granite boulder - but…read moreto get to the lighthouse, you hike through a massive old-growth forest with magnificent views of Burrard Inlet and downtown Vancouver off in the distance! The original lighthouse was wooden and lit in 1875 - this current lighthouse was built in 1912 out of concrete on top of a massive granite boulder. It's still in use today although the light is now automated. You can't access the lighthouse itself - it's closed off by fencing. But there are some buildings surrounding the lighthouse with interesting info signs on the parts they played during WWII. There's also picnic tables if you need a rest or some snacks. The trail up to the lighthouse viewpoint are wide and very well maintained. The entire trail is a moderate loop just over 4 miles long with almost 450 feet elevation gain according to AllTrails. Due to time constraints, we only hiked from the parking lot to the lighthouse viewpoint- it was pretty easy and it's less than a mile to the lighthouse with just over 100 feet of elevation gain. So round trip we did less than 2 miles. There's a large parking lot at the trailhead that's pay-to-park. We paid via QR code on one of the signs easily - we had good cell signal. It was just over $10CAD for about 2 hours so very reasonable.

You could come here, park, and just walk across the suspension bridge (which is unfortunately closed for the next month) and get a kick out of the beautiful canyon. However, to really enjoy the park you should walk all the way around. There are many trails that go on both sides of the canyon, and another bridge on the south side of the park, right about the Twin Falls which are spectacular. Just above the suspension bridge is the 30 foot pool which is a super popular spot in the summer for lounging in the water, swimming and diving. There are also really nice trails in the woods above the water too. It is such a beautiful treasure. Please keep it clean and leave it as a treasure for everyone! Hints: in the summer come earlier or later in the day, it gets super crowded especially on weekends. DO NOT CLIFF JUMP!!! People have died doing that.

Yes, this is a clothing optional beach however I did not notice a lot of people taking off their clothes here at the time I came. My only complaint is the numerous amounts of stairs one has to climb up or walk down to get to Wreck Beach. It can easily tire most people out. My endurance for exercise is on the higher side so this wasn't much of a problem for me but I know it could be for others.
