This review is long overdue, but well deserved. My wife and I cannot express how lucky we were to book this venue for our wedding. The coordinators, the scenery, the professionalism, and really everything was done as though we were family. As a matter of fact, our families did nothing but the compliment us on the venue and the staff. With every wedding there is a degree of stress, but everything regarding this venue was stress free. We reserved the entire venue for our large wedding, and it is our opinion that we got more than what we paid for. You aren't getting ripped off when working with the Harbour View team. They actually have a approved list of vendors, some of which we hired, that integrate with the venue team seamlessly. Harbour View is a great hidden venue that backs up to Occoquan River to give you local river vibes!!! I was here for an awards ceremony and the place was huge!! Plenty of space to lay it out to your liking. The polls in the event space are wrapped with lights as well as lighted curtains around the room creating a nice backdrop for pictures. The chairs that were provided were nice and cushy!! Depending on what you are looking for lower level which is open once you walk in can be used as a reception space and the upstairs is indoor. There is also a walkway that wraps around the outside that you can use for pictures or just to catch some fresh air. All in all I was surprised at how spacious the place is!!!! Came here earlier in May for a family wedding and was quite impressed with the venue as a whole. No, it isn't the most fancy of places, but it seems to get the job done for a venue that can host 100-150 people for anything from a wedding to baby shower to even a graduation/birthday party. The views of the yacht clue and Occoquan River provide a nice backdrop for photos. In fact, this venue is a nice photogenic location. It's secluded from major traffic, which provides a nice semblance of privacy. There's plenty of photo-op opportunities in the front or in the back near the yachts or above on the 2nd floor balcony that seems to stretch across most of the floor. The wedding itself was on the ground floor, which was perfect because it was open and airy. Perfect to sit there and not feel super hot in the process. Also great for photo opportunities too. The reception was in the main banquet room on the 2nd floor, which was nice and spacious for everyone. I think you have to hire a bartender thru them, which is fine and I think you can bring your own selection of alcohol which works for most situations. Bathrooms were quite nice and clean too on both floors, which is a plus. I have no clue how much it cost the family to host the wedding, but if you don't want to spend an arm and leg in Northern Virginia, this is a solid option. read more

Beautiful and intimate event space located right by the water. We rented out the River Room for our baby shower and were able to comfortably fit 30 people. The employees made sure everything would run smoothly and even helped us put up our balloon arch and banner with fishing line. If you want to serve alcohol for your event, you do have to hire a bartender through one of their partners. We hired a bartender from C&G rentals and he was great! They give you an hour of set up time and 30 minutes to clean up afterwards. We had the space to host for 3 hours as well. Overall, the River Room is a great and clean environment to host a variety of events (birthday, shower, etc.) for a group of 20-40 people. read more

If you're planning on having a wedding, this venue is just as beautiful as any other venue around the Northern Virginia area. And the staff is with it. One of my bestie had her wedding here at the last minute...like we're talking about less than a month planning. It's one of those shot gun weddings. But Katelyn made it possible for her. For a last minute wedding, omg the staff here just made it work as if it was nothing to it. The ballroom was a good size that could seat about 100 guests and it includes a dance floor. The setting was perfect for only a party of less than 50. It didn't feel like the places was large because the arrangement was done intimately. Katelyn helped the bride and groom throughout the process. Even helped guide the the bridal party on what to do. Omgosh, they were incredibly helpful. The venue is surrounded by the Occoquan River which gives a beautiful backdrop and great picturesque photo shots. Especially during the day. I'm not sure at night although...I still think day is just as beautiful as a starry night. Definitely a must give it a shot venue. This venue went above and beyond for my wedding! They were super responsive and as soon as I met Katelyn, I knew I wanted her as my go to planner at Harbour View. Her and all the other ladies are a life saver from random questions to ideas they provided. One thing I loved about this venue is that it comes with sooo much including decor and people to set up some decor. I loved that they were meticulous like I am and combed over all details at my final meeting. I also loved that they worked well with my wedding planner. It was like my planner had an extended team. This venue is sooo open and allows you to bring in your own liquor which saved me thousands of dollars. The venue is beautiful and close to the water so that goes without saying. The only downside is when its hot in the warmer months, the Veranda get pretty hot and I got married 9/28/19. But they had the air pumping in the ballroom upstairs. Also, the bride and groom rooms to get ready are pretty warm even though they have fans so we brought our own. My favorite memory is my now husband and I receiving stiff drinks to help us calm down from all the craziness of just getting married and getting ready for the turn up at the reception. I was looking for a place to host my best friend's bridal shower last May. I needed a location that could host at least 35 people. I searched Woodbridge, and I could not find any location that was suitable. The only places that I could find with reasonable prices were the club houses of a few HOAs. Those places did not compare to the beautiful location at Harbour View. I selected a small room on the lower level. It had beautiful windows on three of the walls of the room. They provided linens, tables, chairs, mirrors for center pieces and large faux potted plants that really helped fill the room. They also allowed me to use my own caterer (they approved prior to use). The location has ample parking and the brick building is beautiful. The women at Harbour View were very helpful and allowed me extra time for set up and take down, which was very much needed. I could not have asked for a better location and group of people to help me planning my event. The shower was a complete success and the bride was wowed at the beautiful location. I had my wedding back in September 9th, 2018 at Harbour View. I must say my experience was amazing there. Love how nice and helpful the staffs was. Everything turned out perfect and I couldn't ask for more. Rachel was my wedding planner, she was so nice and sweet. We arrived at the venue and actually forgot the bouquets for the bridesmaids, Rachel actually ran to look for flowers and made us 4 bouquets. Highly recommend this place. Ascetics is a big thing for me and this place did not give me a good vibe. It was just surrounded by miles of construction and the building is right in the center of all of it. The water looks brown during the day, gives a swampy vibe. As soon as I walked in from the parking lot... there was the alter. It just wasn't my cup of tea, we went for a consultation but left way before cuz of the location. It's not a place I would want to welcome my family and friends to. Venue was absolutely gorgeous, but they do not care about military families. My future husband got deployed, so we were unable to have our wedding as scheduled on August 13, 2021. I reached out to Harbour View as soon as we received our orders, they offered to give us Less than $1,000 of our already paid venue cost, but ONLY IF THEY COULD REBOOK THE DATE.. there was no clause to protect us in the event of military deployment or anything. So we're just out of money. if you're military and book here be sure to add an addendum in the event your future spouse gets deployed. read more

This is a beautiful, wonderful, amazing venue with helpful and friendly staff. I am lucky to meet and work with Harbour Team from Andrea, Katelyn, Megan to Rachael (who is my main coordinator). We had a great time and got many helps throughout the time we booked with Harbour View until our wedding day (04.27.19). Harbour View partners with C&G events and rental services. The owner of C&G is Carmen and she is so nice. They work together so when you book with Harbour View you actually save your time to find your caterer (unless you want to cater with your choice of restaurant). In my case, I did go with Four Seasons restaurant because my wedding is a Vietnamese wedding, it is more of the food culture things. Our guest from all over the countries, they all gave so much of compliments about the place. My families come from Vietnam to attend the wedding and they are in love with the view. Rachael is very patience to answer all your questions and she is also helpful to give you suggestions for your wedding plan. On my wedding day, Rachael and Megan helped to organize the event throughout last minute. One more special thing I am in love with this place is that they provide bridal suit and the groom suite for all your convenience. It is such a treat! Wedding sometimes can be stressful but with Harbour View team and the venue itself, you actually enjoy every moment of it. I am thankful for the gift that Harbour View provided to us. Harbour View's work, dedication, love, and energy was beyond our expectations. Andrea and the rest of the HV team did an exceptional job throughout the wedding preparation until the wedding sparklers send off. They are professional, talented, accommodating, and so much fun to work it. I especially love the fact that HV staff have strong work ethics and they are very confident women! The rehearsal was straight forward and clear. Andrea explained everything and we were so very thankful for that. She did everything and all we had to do was follow directions! The decorations and the amount of work they did to make the ceremony veranda and the reception ball room absolutely beautiful blew my mind away! I couldn't focus for a few seconds when I saw how beautiful the ceremony was. My parents were walking me down the aisle and I just couldn't believe my eyes. Jarad and I did not spend a tremendous amount of money on decorations and HV staff did an awesome job making it look tasteful and absolutely breathtaking! We also appreciate the fact that HV staff was able to include the sparklers send off. We did a send off upstairs because it was pouring outside. After our send off upstairs, we were ready to call it a night but Andrea and Lisa were unpacking all the sparklers and we tried to convince them both that it was not a big deal but they were very persistent. I'm giving Harbour View 1 star due to Dave. I signed a contract in April 2020, in Feb of 2021, he has Brittany send me an email stating that there will be an additional $375 added to my contract because I want using Black Tie Entertainment for photography and DJ. He also had her send a message requesting signed contracts with all of my vendors. My DJ went to view the space, while I was on the phone, Dave began to speak negatively of my decorator, insinuate that my DJ would not dress professional, request the amount he charged me and remove a room from my contact. I had talked to Dave on the phone a couple of times but never met him in person. The day of drop off he was there in the front folding table cloths. Brittany brings a cart out and we make 3 trips up with beverages. Dave never spoke a single word. I didn't know who he was until a couple came to view the venue and I heard him say "I'm Dave, the owner". The next time I saw him was the day of the event. I went to my car and he was standing in the doorway. He turned and walked the opposite direction to avoid speaking to me. I am disturbed by many things that came up after the contract was signed. They requested that my DJ have a million dollar automobile insurance policy to park on the property....I believe that your insurance policy covers you everywhere! Another issue was the listed caterers. They have not a single minority caterer on their list of preferred caterers. They tell you that you can select from outside the list but the caterer cannot serve their food! You have to hire their service company to serve. Ridiculous! What chef wants someone else serving their food? I did not hire anyone else to serve. The caterer and his staff served their food from the buffet. They are licensed and insured. All credentials were provided to HV. Harbour View has gorgeous rooms, however, there is no kitchen and no ice machine. For the price of the venue, at the very least, the "owner" should greet everyone. I didn't feel welcome in the place that I spent $5k to celebrate my 50th birthday. He is trying to make a monopoly out of that place and should probably study contact law before adding/removing and requesting third party contracts. I had a fabulous event only because I would not be railroaded by Dave. I pushed back at every single one of his shenanigans and there was absolutely nothing he could do because he wasn't doing business legally. Be ware of the contracts with Harbour View. Have it reviewed by an attorney before signing. I would not recommend booking this venue due to the professionalism of the owner and the pricing. Not enough Bang for your Buck. Thank God for the internet and Google because if it weren't for these two things, my husband I would have never found this perfect hidden gem. From the time that I entered the doors of this picturesque venue, I knew that this would be the place where I'd say "I Do!" Our ceremony was held in the Veranda on a beautiful September Sunday afternoon. The weather was perfect for our nuptials and the scenery on the Occoquan River definitely made everything even more breath taking. Our cocktail hour and reception were held in the upper level of the venue:The Gallery, Hutchinson Room, and the Seawell's Point Ballroom. The staff is absolutely AWESOME! Katelyn was our onsite coordinator with Harbour View throughout the our planning process and she was also our day of coordinator as well. She was so attentive to detail from the very beginning. My fiance and I had the best experience with Emily. We toured the venue, and Harbour View was one of our top choices. However, out of the blue I got an email from Dave, the apparent owner. He singlehandedly turned our excitement about Harbour View into crossing it off our list. He was reaching out about our event but had none of the information. He ended up giving me a call, and things got worse. Not only was he unprofessional, but he was extremely condescending. I can't say enough how amazing Emily was and she truly made us feel welcome and excited to have our event at Harbour View but Dave's condescending phone call has definitely changed this. It's hard enough to find a venue that is LGBTQ+ friendly where you feel comfortable. (We were asking for another day or two to make our decision per our contract talks with the staff). If you notice, they try to take down all their negative reviews. I've already received notifications that the owner is disputing my poor review on other websites. We could not have selected a better venue than Harbour View for our son's reception. The venue and its staff are amazing in every way. Occoquan river, and the boats and bridges, provide a very pretty backdrop. Both ballrooms are huge and nicely decorated, and The Sewell's Point Ballroom has a large dance floor. You can step out on the balconies from anywhere on a good weather day and get some beautiful pictures. The entire staff is friendly, responsive, courteous and professional, and they go out of their way to help you with everything. You can actually leave all the stress and worrying to them! Megan, and everyone else we worked with, did everything they could to ensure that every detail was planned and executed to perfection. Harbour View also gives you a lot of flexibility, from choice of caterers to being able to provide your own drinks. Great location in Woodbridge, VA with great parking, easily accessible for guest off the highway and a great view on the water. A lot of places that my wife and I visited had great reception spaces with really bad surrounding areas where the Bathrooms, parking lot and overall ground were not well kept. However, We knew we found the perfect package once we toured Harbour View. The words "You guys do not need a wedding planner" was scary. However, everything turned out great and everything that was in the contract was well delivered. My guest had nothing but great things to say as well. Gorgeous venue and Amazing staff! Harbour View always made us feel so welcome and truly feel like a part of their family. Overlooking the marina, there is a hidden gem to hold events and weddings in northern Virginia. The approach to the spot is not very posh, but once I was in, I was highly impressed. It is a 2 story building right near the yachts making the ambience right for wedding. The place is good for medium sized ceremonies where I talked to the guests in relaxed way and watched all the events with ease. Parking is no problem either. I could not believe all of the personal attention we received and for such an affordable cost! From beginning to end she made my wedding reception effortless. She made recommendations which I am so glad that i took (like the caterer which was an equally fantastic experience) and walked me through everything. We had our reception on the open veranda and it was the perfect setting. I wanted an outdoor wedding but was worried about the weather. It turned out perfectly. Our wedding coordinator, Holly, did an AMAZING job in dealing with all of the different vendors that were involved, as well as making sure that my wife and I were comfortable and kept up to date with every aspect of the planning phase. Additionally, she went well out of her way to make sure that every detail that my wife and I had discussed with her in regards to what our vision was for our wedding, came into fruition. Lisa, who also happens to be the owner, also went above and beyond to ensure that our day was everything that we wanted an more.
