I've been frequenting the Pointe for some time now. Ben (Chef) is working hard to get his menu in line with the clientele and residents. I've eaten the buffets, plate specials, sandwiches and salads. I Really enjoy the Pot Roast. Give it a try for yourself. read more

On my visit to New Bern, NC. Visiting my parents in NC on their vacation we came across this Golf Course that was recommended by the rental property. From the moment of booking our tee time to the return of our golf cart, the employees treated us like royalty. We were given a price by the association which was not true price ( 2 years ago price) when we showed the lady the flyer she had she informed us that it was not right but without hesitation offered us a better price $25 for a round of golf with cart! The fairways were manicured very nicely and the greens were green and quick. The carts were less then a year old and had the gps units in them to measure distance from your spot hitting to the green. Beer Lady!! How convenient was it that the beer lady was around on every 3 rd hole with cold refreshments! Cheers to that! There is also a small convenience stand inside the clubhouse that serves quick bite foods and some snacks. For the price, for the love of golf, for time with my dad, this was definitely a "hole in one" moment. Thank you for making it a special one! Kudos ! read more

Overall we've enjoyed every meal we've had at The Pointe. New leadership was implemented a few months ago and they are doing an outstanding job by offering weekly specials, keeping the menu manageable for their size and their staff. The quality of the selections we've enjoyed is outstanding. The staff is friendly, attentive and the service gets better every time we visit. What a pleasant surprise! It's been a while since my last visit to this restaurant and I am really happy I went back. New menu and selections. My party ordered bbq chicken wings- outstanding- sweet potato fries- excellent- grilled shrimp- very nicely seasoned and plenty of shrimp. The server walked by with a Reuben sandwich that looked incredible and I will be ordering that next time for sure. I didn't love the cole slaw but the chef assured me it is an award winning recipe so I guess it's just not to my taste. My compliments to the chef. read more

Soft yet fast greens. There was a tournament ahead of us so they accommodated us by having us tee off the back nine. We zoomed through much of the course until we caught up. Then halted for a few holes. Then off to the races again for a four hour round. Greens are fast even though some of the source is soft from the rain. Very well kept. We were a little tired of the dog legs, but that is pine country here in NC. Tee boxes are in good condition. Pro shop staff are very helpful. We didn't stop by the club house after. They didn't have a refreshment cart on the course. There were a couple of holes with vistas of the waterway. Although not as much as we'd hoped for with a name like Harbour Point. Water in play on several holes. bunkers are average. Hard from the rain the night before. Fairways in excellent condition. Well done! read more

Stepped in the clubhouse for the first time in months and remembered why in the first step in. Such a rude atmosphere. That place needs a class in how to run a service industry establishment. The only reason to go in was to hear Brian McDowell, you sounded great. The food is rarely edible. If you could put negative stars I would rate this place a negative 5 stars. read more

Went to dinner with another couple on Dec 1st, 2022. It was after a great round of golf, so it was about 4:30-4:45 when we rolled in. This can often be a time when restaurants don't quite have things prepped, or the staff isn't completely ready. However, we were greeted, seated, and a round of drinks ordered immediately. We then ordered a tuna appetizer, which was really excellent. Then, we ordered two orders of squid ink pasta and shrimp primavera, one order of chicken piccata, and one order of the chop. I tasted everything and each dish was fantastic. It arrived in a timely fashion, beautifully plated, hot, tasty. The chop was a giant tomahawk pork chop with garlic mashed potatoes and an interesting slaw (not traditional cole slaw). The chop was grilled to perfection. The piccata was bright, lemony, just the way it's supposed to be, and the shrimp was cooked correctly, not overcooked, the pasta al dente, the sauce delish. No complaints at all. Sorry no pictures. We were enjoying our evening too much to bother! As 6:30 rolled around the place was completely packed, not a free seat in the place, and a band starting up. Not crushingly loud. Live in the area and have played many of the courses near New Bern. This course is narrow but makes for a challenging day with the fellas. Staff is friendly and willing to help with anything. Give it a shot you will not be disappointed. read more

Better than past years. Greens a bit spotty, but mostly puttable, but varied. Fairways OK, at least no real rough, sand traps not cared for, soft top, hard bottom with some stones. Twilight rate was appropriate for course. read more

Nice views. That's about only thing good. Greens were in very rough shape. They were ungodly slow. Fairway wasn't in the greatest shape either. Range wasn't good neither. Wouldn't pay 40 to play. read more
