I'm a firm believer you get what you pay for, and I can honestly say this company is completely worth every penny. My husband wasn't entirely convinced that I had made the right choice booking this DJ until he talked to Frankie & saw her in action. He was blown away! If you're shying away because of the price, DON'T. BTA does so much more than play music; they create an indescribable atmosphere that will insure every guest from your 70 year old grandma to your 7 year old cousin has the time of their lives. Before the wedding, Frankie took the time to talk to us in-depth regarding not only our music choices, but how we wanted the evening to unfold. She found every song we picked, guided us when we had questions, and basically made the day "ours" in every sense of the word. Certainly the most unique lodging I've ever had!…read more What happens when someone takes a 1950s style motel, updates the facility and gives the rooms themes? You get the Ziegler Hotel & Suites! I was working about 20 miles NE of New Bern, and was looking for options other than (a) the $100+/night hotel chains in New Bern or(b) a longer drive to Havelock for a room more in the company's acceptable expense range. Fortunately my internet search found the Zieglar, with rates at least $20/night less than the New Bern chains and comparable with Havelock rates. I stayed in the 1940.s themed room. Frank Sinatra photos and album covers are featured on the walls, along with other 1940's stars from radio, movies, and sports. Other rooms have as themes the 1950's, 1960's, Elvis & Marilyn Monroe, and even a Goth inspired room. Here's was impressed me. The room had all of the modern conveniences (hdtv, microwave, small refrigerator) but also included a DVD player with several movies in the room, and about eight books. I opened the drawer of the writing table and found a 1940's edition of LIFE magazine. The bed was comfortable with sheets having a colorful design - not your typical white hotel sheets. The towels and other linens were a higher quality than what you would find at most hotels. The heat/AC unit was a newer remote control design, and along with the ceiling fan kept the room comfortable on hot humid summer days. If I were looking for a comfortable quiet place where I want to indulge in a good book or two for a few days I would definitely suggest the Ziegler. Don't think it would be a good choice for a family on vacation on the business person needing a place for business meetings, But - if you want a quiet place that isn't your run of the mill lodging room and at a reasonable price - give 'em a try!

And yet, of all the places I have been, few can match the charm and service of this wonderful couple and this establishment. "Charming coastal" is indeed accurate as another reviewer noted, but so is kind and engaging. At least, that is how I found the host Kim, who is the hostess during your stay. The rooms are modest in size but well appointed and comfy with a wonderful balcony to enjoy a morning coffee and watch the city wake up. The highlight of each morning was the breakfast together. The breakfast is served at 9 sharp and is served with the other guests. It makes for not only a delicious breakfast, but Kim uses it as an opportunity to help direct, guide, and suggest places nearby that meet your interests. This is great as it means you get insider tips and ways to optimize your stay by taking the guesswork out--particularly when you have a small window for activities (we were only there for a few days). In the evenings, Kim hosts a happy hour which includes helping guests secure reservations and dinner plans settled before you go. This is not just a recommendation by Kim--she actively calls and secures the spots and confirms them with you. True concierge service! Setting aside the wonderful host and the rooms, the location is superb. We were there over the weekend, and there is a delightful Saturday market literally ACROSS the street filled with vendors of all varieties. Warming: it is easy to spend. ;) The entirety of the downtown is merely a block away with shops, restaurants, and bars galore along with the cruises, sports fishing, and recreation just a short walk down the road. Bottom line: I adored this place and have already recommended it to friends and family here in Durham (where we live) and beyond. If you can swing it (it is worth every penny) and want to give yourself or your partner a weekend to remember, I cannot more strongly recommend the Inn on Turner.

From the moment we walked into Butterfly Kisses Pavilion we fell in love with the venue. We did not ask for much... just for a stress-free wedding and absolutely no white at the venue. Nonetheless, we were stressed out, lied to, and received white flowers that were disposed of from the wedding the night before. If I did not have mutual friends on Facebook, you would have pocketed almost $1300 for flowers/ greenery we never received (Since everything was reused from the day before). Thank God I have trustworthy friends that look out for me. Something you did not do for my husband and I on our wedding day. Thanks for the refund on the flowers though. As for the wedding day management services that you promised to refund in full ($700) and only did half. Please keep the money as you obviously need it more than me. I just do not think it is fair that you are lying to the other people on the reviews saying you only promised half. Laura, You, and Me talked on the phone together when you promised to refund me in FULL. In the text messages between you and the bride (who's wedding was the day before ours) you said, "I did struggle with timing of my day and will admit I used boutonnieres that I found to eliminate the need to put together a few less than I had to do." Katrina- we did not want any white in the wedding. You reused ALL the flowers/greenery from Laura's wedding on June 4th, 2022. Moving on, you said directly "I cannot coordinate back-to-back weddings and do flowers and lighting. I had too much on my plate that caused me to not perform my best for that second couple" MY HUSBAND AND I WERE THE SECOND COUPLE. It will forever upset me that our wedding was just dollar signs to you. AFTER MY WEDDING KATRINA POSTED THE PICTURE OF MY HUSBAND AND I AND DELETED IT BECAUSE SHE CLAIMED THE WORK OF ANOTHER FLOREST FOR THE FLOWERS SHE DISPOSED OF AND REUSED FOR MY WEDDING. QUOTE FROM KATRINA:"Regarding claiming the flowers, I definitely shouldn't have done so with those images. I removed the post immediately when you pointed it for both reasons of not knowing what we would say to each other but also because that image didn't have my work in it." She admitted that it was not her work, but MY HUSBAND AND I PAID FOR HER WORK. Again, this is untrustworthy of a business, and she committed fraud. Did I mention the stressful part yet? As she mentioned in the texts messages that our wedding was not a priority, we did not receive the lights we wanted or a rehearsal before the wedding. If a meeting 20 minutes prior to the ceremony is professional to any person getting married here than so be it. But we arrived 3 and a half hours prior to the ceremony to REHEARSE the wedding, but the venue was not even close to being ready yet. My day was falling apart right between my eyes. So Katrina- PLEASE stop lying to the other people that left reviews saying this has been resolved. Laura and I will never forget what you did to us. IT WILL LIVE WITH US FOREVER. My wedding day was beautiful, but the services you provided were unprofessional and sneaky.
