Sadly, Sandy's was our choice for a destination wedding last month…read more I would give Zero Stars if possible. The business was unprofessional and did not follow our agreed upon choice of flowers, colors, vases, or size of arrangements. We had a wonderful wedding in spite of the immediate disappointment and drama brought about by this company. They may be good for a flower delivery, but I WOULD NOT hire them for your dream day wedding. I did reach out to this company to try to rectify the breach of contract and reimburse us, but they chose not to respond.

I recently stayed at the Abilena Mansion for a friend's wedding and appreciated how inclusive the…read moreproperty is. The mansion sleeps 14 people with 7 queen beds, but we were able to accommodate more by using the spacious couch in one of the bedrooms and sleeping 3 to a bed another night. It was so nice to have the entire wedding party stay in one place. We had the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception on property, and there was enough lawn parking for all guests. The ceremony space is outside overlooking a peaceful lake that beautifully compliments the sunset. We used the dock for wedding party photos and as a place to hang out and chat on our fist night (tip: bring bug spray). The reception area is also outside but completely covered and with optional side shading. Both areas are the perfect size for small-to-medium size weddings. A big con, should it affect you and your guests: the mansion and grounds are not wheelchair accessible. There are quite a number of steps to get to the ceremony area with no alternative route. Guests who cannot walk or climb steps may not be able to view the ceremony next to everyone else. I also did not notice a ramp leading inside the mansion. We joked that the kitchen has everything you don't need. They have like 3 cheese graters and 50 wine glasses, but no Pam, scissors, or a wine/beer bottle opener. The owners probably don't stock the place with these essential items because guests could easily steal them, so please, for your own good: BRING A WINE BOTTLE OPENER. The kitchen has two refrigerators--enough room to hold 5 bags of ice in each freezer. The mansion also has a washer and dryer and plenty of clean towels. And a piano! And a pool. And tons of room to work on wedding decor projects. Basically this place has almost everything you could want in a wedding location. The owners are available via phone at almost any time and are quick to reply. The husband and wife duo visited every day to clean up, check-in, and help with ceremony set-up. My biggest complaint with the Abilena Mansion is the wi-fi. It worked for about 30 minutes when I first connected and then died for the rest of my multi-day stay. No one's phone could successfully connect to the wi-fi even though it appeared available. This is a huge downside for a place that's supposed to service large groups of people who want to stream music, look up information, post on social media, and activate other celebration-related things.

We just attended a Wedding here and it was beautiful. The backdrop of the water for the ceremony…read morewas perfect. It was about 98 or so degrees out but with all of the shade and the breeze it was tolerable. We ate outdoors under a kind of covered porch with great views of the water and sunset. Parking was easy and they had a golf cart shuttle service to and from the ceremony site. We walked through the house (the bridal portraits we in one of the side rooms) it was a charming older home with early 1900s finishings. To get 5 stars, we would need it to be a bit easier to navigate, there were a lot of large stairs that were hard for those wearing heels. I don't know how much control over the event the owners have but it was a bit confusing knowing where to go and when, maybe bigger signage would help. Overall it was a lovely outdoor venue.

She had made the updates as she said she would but her iPad froze. She should have had a backup printed out as Staples can do this anytime. Her traveling between weddings does not excuse unpreparedness. When I addressed it with her, she denied it occurring. My husband tipped her beforehand, not afterwards, which was a mistake. I can't believe we paid $500 for her to screw up a 10 min job. I spent my wedding and honeymoon so upset and she refuses to acknowledge what happened or give us a refund. She told my family member, who I believe !00%, that she hoped she could remember our names since it was her 4th wedding. What a flop! Don't be the bride upset at her wedding and honeymoon like me. This is what we had agreed to via email: Together: Today I make a solemn vow before God and all who are present here. I vow to love you to the end of my days to grow with you and not apart, to make my accomplishments, ours, and your challenges, mine, And to love you deeply and honestly, as your teammate and your partner. I choose you. NONE OF THIS WAS READ: Her: To stand by your side and sleep in your arms. Him: To be joy to your heart and food for your soul. Her: To learn with you and grow with you, even as time and life changes us both. Him: To laugh with in the best of times and carry through the worst Her: To never take your actions, words and kindness for granted, Together: And I promise to keep choosing you, every day, forever Forsaking all others, I commit myself to you. Him: To serve you with tenderness and respect Her: To share in your hopes and dreams Him: To consider your well-being as important as my own Her: And to listen with you for God's call for our lives Together: Where you go, I will go - where you stay, I will stay From this day forward, you will be my family I promise to fight for life, for joy, for us Her: I'll fight for our future together, no matter what challenges we face. Him: I'll fight for your dreams even when you think you can't anymore. Her: I'll fight for our love, to keep it strong, even when life tests our resolve. Him: And I'll fight for the truth, that we uplift one another and make each other better people Together: I will love you faithfully and today, I marry you with no hesitation or doubt Whatever may come I will always be there Each of us believing that love never dies As I have given you my hand to hold, So I give you my life to keep.

There were several factors I was prepared to spend money on for our wedding: my dress, the food, the photographer, and the DJ. I'm a firm believer you get what you pay for, and I can honestly say this company is completely worth every penny. My husband wasn't entirely convinced that I had made the right choice booking this DJ until he talked to Frankie & saw her in action. He was blown away! If you're shying away because of the price, DON'T. BTA does so much more than play music; they create an indescribable atmosphere that will insure every guest from your 70 year old grandma to your 7 year old cousin has the time of their lives. Before the wedding, Frankie took the time to talk to us in-depth regarding not only our music choices, but how we wanted the evening to unfold. She found every song we picked, guided us when we had questions, and basically made the day "ours" in every sense of the word. Our ceremony & reception were so professional, and more importantly, they represented our fun-loving nature. The pace of the evening was *perfect*. Frankie kept our guests entertained with up-beat games, engaging dialogue, and perfectly timed dance sets. So many people approached us and told us they've never been to a more fun wedding! And I may be biased, but I had an absolute blast. Definitely the best wedding EVAR, and it was mainly due to our incredible DJ, Frankie at BTA Entertainment.
