    Had this bank for years and never had any major issues. If u want a simple yet basic bank HarborOne is the way to go.

    I was referred by a realtor to contact Steve for home purchase mortgage. Steve sounded very…read moreempathetic and friendly over the phone at first. After learning about my visa situation, he sounded confident that he'd be able to help and asked me to get my loan documents ready to start application. I told him I didn't have current year tax return yet so he suggested to hold off and send everything together. couple weeks later, I sent him all the required documents and heard nothing after two days. I called and was completely shocked that Steve somehow lost my emails... I've sent him highly confidential information and he told me he lost it all because he was cleaning up his mailbox? He also told me that his bank couldn't approve my mortgage after i helped refresh his memory and send him our email correspondence again. I was completely baffled as to how his response changed after two weeks. same facts, same story, but now he's giving me a resounding no. I was going into panic mode,but Steve went on for another 10 mins trying to convince me how I can't qualify for a loan anywhere in the united states. The whole experience left me feeling utterly confused and flustered. Fast forward three months later, we just closed on our house. Perhaps I caught Steve on a bad day and I don't think one bad experience makes boc any less of a good bank. however, my review would be totally different if Steve told me no the first time or more importantly didn't lose all my emails. I strongly suggest the bank establishes an employee guideline for email maintenance. It's highly unprofessional when your employee misplaces customer's sensitive information.

This was the 2nd time we worked with her, the first being a purchase of a new home, with this being a refinance of said home. Everything was going fine with the refinance in the beginning, however after a while she started to become unreachable. We continued with the process as we figured she was busy and paid for the appraisal anyway (setting us back about 300-400). We then waited for Dee to finish up with the process. However not long after that she was completely unreachable and was not returning our calls. We eventually gave up, but her lack of being upfront cost us some money and she didn't have the professionalism at least to tell us she wasn't going to be able to refinance our home. We later went online with QuickenLoans the next month who were able to refinance without a problem (with a better rate than Dee originally quoted). This was back in 2009 so bankers/mortgage brokers were probably somewhat shell-shocked and wary of the market, but her lack of unprofessionalism here (i.e., avoiding us) should be noted. That, and the fact we were able to easily obtain a refinance a month later left a bad taste in my month concerning working with her.
