Customer service and communication is virtually nonexistent - I would never recommend anyone to invest money with First Financial - the fact that they are still in business considering how poor my experience has been is mind-blowing.

I can't say enough about Alex and Anne at Village Mortgage. As a 25 year old and a first time home…read morebuyer, this process was nerve-wracking at first. I initially went to a local bank in my area, and all seemed to be going well; however, when I attempted to get some final paperwork done, the bank backed down from the offer. I was then put in touch with Alex, someone I've known for several years through a relative, and she was VERY happy to help. Within five minutes of our initial phone call, I knew Alex was going to get this done for me. The process itself was seamless. I met with Alex at her office in Norwood and got every question I had going in answered, alongside a few that I didn't even know to ask. She made it very clear as far as what to expect with cost, how long the process might take, and even made sure I had references for local banks, attorney's, and realtors. Once I left the office I felt confident in my buying power and knew that if I had any questions or concerns, Alex and Anne would answer them fast. I never went more than an hour or so waiting for a returned call, text, or e-mail. What I truly love about the Village Mortgage team of Norwood is how they worked side by side with every party involved. My sale moved very fast (less than 30 days from time of offer), and I was worried one side or another wouldn't have paperwork signed or completed by X date. I was wrong. Alex and Anne both worked around the clock to make sure this was done when we needed it done. I can't praise them enough for how diligent they were in making sure the needs of EVERYBODY involved were met. If you need a mortgage, go see Alex and Anne. They are honest, caring, and most importantly extremely professional. I will recommend them to my friends and family, and I'm certain you will as well once you see how hard they work.

It should not take five trips to the website and multiple calls to the Call Center to make a monthly payment. First, their website link to pay online does not work. My bank received no attempts to debit the money. Now, I have no way to guarantee my payment arrives to them in time to avoid being late. I had to make the payment through my bank, whom I can trust NOT Salem Five. I have never had more trouble trying to pay a bill that will impact my credit so severely if it is late. If I could switch my mortgage company, I would.
