We went on a 'dinner' cruise. The cruise itself was fun, and the ship was nice. However it was the worst 'dinner buffet' I've ever seen. I waited until the end of the line to get my food, and the only thing left was litte 2-inch squares of pizza. I asked if there was more food coming out and they said there was no more food on board. They said it was not their fault, and that people just ate too much! They know ahead of time exactly how many people have bought tickets, so they should know how much food to provide. I heard rumors that there was shrimp cocktail, but only a few got that. They said they had 6 pounds of shrimp for 100 people - guess what, that's 1 per person! The 'dinner' that I didn't have consisted of the little pieces of pizza, chicken wings and meatballs. There was a veggie tray and cheese & crackers earlier. Not what I would call dinner. I understand that they are not charging a lot, but there are many, many other inexpensive options. There was no effort to compensate me for not getting dinner, and there is no way to send comments on their website, so I am writing a review on here. The other problem is that the main cabin was stifling. They really need to have windows that open. It was unbearable. They had air conditioners, but they were off. No one came around to see how guests were doing. And finally, some of the windows were so dirty that you couldn't see out of them. I'd really like to recommend this as a fun thing to do in Rochester, but unless they make some very doable improvements, I can't. read more
