I had an amazing experience aboard the Colonial Belle. Our tour guide was almost as amazing as the scenery and I loved being in the floor chamber as we traveled down the Erie Canal. We learned the history of the Belle and the history of the Canal. Our return on the boat was accompanied by a father-son musical duo that played relaxing tunes on our journey. My cruise was back in August. The colonial belle sails until October so there's some amazing opportunity to see the leaves change if you're sailing in autumn.

We did a murder mystery cruise as a birthday date night. Everyone was very nice and the route was gorgeous. The food was also pretty good. We were one of the few younger people there, so we did feel somewhat out of place. While we enjoyed the theatrics of the cast, the murder mystery didn't feel as immersive or fully planned out as it could have been. In all, it was a good experience but I'm not sure we'd do it again.

We did the 90's cruise a few weeks ago and it was lots of fun. They serve food, did trivia and played 90s music the whole time. It was fun and I'd do it again. The drinks were supposed to be 90s themed, but weren't, so that was disappointing. It was a Cosmo and a Sex on the Beach. But they did have servers bring the drinks up to us, so it was good service. I had requested a vegetarian meal, but they didn't have it, so I had salad and 2 rolls because my friend gave me hers. It was a steep price, especially since I barely ate, and drinks weren't included. I would not do this in a non themed cruise. I think I'd have been crazy bored. But the breeze on the top was nice, and the sunset was pretty. I didn't understand why we went into the loch just to turn around... It was also annoying that you always needed to duck under bridges. We'd all be dancing, then need to duck, lol. The bathrooms are ok, but not great. The water comes from the lake so it's gross, but there's signs telling you. And I think the sink was clean, but it was discolored. They also were out of paper towels at the end. I probably could have said something, but we were literally almost done. I'd definitely do the 90s thing again. That was really fun. Or maybe some other sort of them like that.

The Captain and her crew did a fantastic job. Very informative and entertaining/touching stories narrated by the gracious owner/ Captain herself. (The boat was her fathers boat that she took over when he passed away to continue his dream and journey. ) Drinks/snacks are way over priced, but you do sort of expect to pay more when it comes to these types of things. You're not allowed to bring your own water aboard which I thought was odd, even if it's sealed (so leave them in the car). Great views, relaxing, fresh air.... Wonderful time! Highly recommend!

A must do while visiting the region. We took an evening cruise in the canal to lock #32 then return. One recommendation I have is even in the summer to take a light jacket or hoody on the evening tour.

Thé catering was a joke. My Caesar salad was a small side salad. There were NO sides as with the other offerings. It was really paltry.

Last October, when the Fall color was at its peak, I decided to take another canal tour. A lunch tour to lock 32. At the last minute a friend wanted to join me. I called the office, and they were able to accommodate us, but not able to get the lunch for her. We had a blast. We shared the Fairport Lunch, drank seltzer water and beer and shared the boat with a group on a surprise tour that ended on the canal tour. This trip was completely different from my previous one in the opposite direction. The experiences were different and the colors of the foliage enviable; gold, reds, oranges. The weather was perfect, partly cloudy, and then the sun broke and warmth came up and we had a sunny day Toward the end of the ride, the wind started to pick up. Along the way there were historical facts given by the crew. And we sang the famous "Low Bridge" song I was very happy, and my friend was also impressed with the trip. I highly recommend this tour.

I took the 90 minutes tour through Lock 32, which goes through it, tours a bit, and turns around. Light refreshments including beer and wine are available. The tour guides are well informed and the staff very friendly. It's a pleasant and educational trip. Adults pay $30, with lower fees for seniors, military and kids. Very much worthwhile.

We started out at VB Brewery, where we enjoyed our flight of awesome beer, and then had a tour of the brewing facility itself (where we got a secret extra tasting!). From there, we headed to Lost Borough, where the beer was equally amazing (and a few of us may have ordered from Sticky Lips right around the corner, which is totally encouraged!). The final stop of the day was over in Webster at Knucklehead Craft Brewing. This brewery had my favorite beer of the day, the Knockout Stout. This brewery also has a kitchen where they serve some awesome food as well! I would definitely recommend TourRoc to anybody who is interested in craft beer, or to anybody who is interested in learning more about it and the Rochester beer scene in general. Probably the best thing about TourRoc is you literally just have to show up and you're set. Your ticket price includes EVERYTHING - luxury transportation, a flight of beer at each brewery (or for those of you who are gluten free, wine, cider, or cocktails as available), snacks and water on the tour bus, and all tips for the driver and tour director. You are also welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages (alcoholic or not) on the tour bus as well! It's obvious that the detail that went into creating the TourRoc experience that the owners truly love Rochester and have a passion for local craft beer. Can't wait to go on my next tour!
