I usually sit in the empty booth chair next to hers while she's attending to my husband and we all just laugh and chat up a storm. Kevin is also very friendly and fun to chat with. This shop is close to home so it's a nice walk to and from. Christopher Salon offers a wide variety of services so I would recommend you give them a try. Parking is tight but there is a vacant business next door and side street parking. There are restaurants nearby if you need a bite to eat while in the area. The prices are reasonable and they take appointments and if you are lucky maybe a walk in.

He was not happy. He suggested it was my fault. I didn't know how to do my own hair. Seriously? He compared me to a client he had in the 1990s who wasn't satisfied. As the conversation progressed he got angrier and talked faster. I think arrogant would be a good description. Needless to say it was not a good experience and I was even more surprised by his lack of skill at dealing with the public than his skill as a hair dresser.

My biggest issue, though, was their handling of a missed appointment. I woke up feeling unwell, and right before my appointment, I was hit hard with sudden period symptoms--severe cramps, the sweats, nausea, and diarrhea. I was barely able to function when the receptionist called. Before I could explain and ask if I could be a little late (living less than 5 minutes away), she curtly informed me I was missing my appointment and was no longer welcome back. The lack of empathy was shocking and unprofessional. I understand no-show policies, but a little compassion would've gone a long way. I won't be returning and can't recommend this place based on my experience.

That is ok not a big deal, I guess I didn't want to stare at the ladies behind the counter while they were busy chit chatting. My makeup was pretty well done and customized to what I wanted. However they did not have enough lipstick shades to match the shade I wanted. At the end my lips looked pretty bad. My eyes and everything else looked great (to begin with). When it came time to do my hair, I was turned sideways for some reason so I couldn't see the mirror. Granted I should've asked to be turned but I trusted the stylist to do as I asked (I came with a picture). However the stylist in front of me (her client's seat was also turned sideways) was blowdrying hair and the air kept hitting my face. I'm pretty sure it melted some of my eye makeup because by the time I was done my makeup had fallen off a bit underneath (and it wasn't fixed despite asking). Once my hair was done being styled I was turned around to face the mirror and it looked horrendous, nothing close to the picture I had shown. I had to ask her to blow dry half the hair out and not to mention I'm sure I had a lot of heat damage. She did put in effort into trying to redo it so I tipped her well for her time and effort. At the end I had to come home and fix a bunch of things after my 2 hour appointment. I guess my point is to speak up and make sure you're facing the mirror the whole time so you can see what's going on. It would also be nice to be greeted right away.

I can't say enough positive about her abilities as a stylist. She is exceptional. She has always taken her role very seriously- prides herself in staying in touch with all the latest and greatest but knows the styles that are everlasting as well. My hair is in completely different shape since I've been able to come here! It's so much healthier and the cut, color and highlights -sheer perfection I always feel like a new improved version of myself when I leave!! Don't forget to ask for RISA when you call!!!
