You can find Harbor Light Marina at 1476 Harbor Light Marina Rd Lavonia, GA 30553. Access is via a road right off the Whitworth Rd (Hwy 77) Exit from I85 near Lavonia. Go across the interstate and it's the first accessible right to Harbor Light Marina Rd. There seems to be a lot of parking either at the clubhouse/restaurant level or down closer to the water. This seems to be a fairly well maintained marina - I've visited a few times as one of my friends keeps his boat there. It doesn't seem to be super busy, especially if you get there before lunch - seems most of the local boaters come later in the afternoon. The lake itself is beautiful and very clean/clear. It also seems less populated than the nearby party lakes so if you're into casual swimming this is the place for you. read more

Harbor Light Marina is located on Lake Hartwell on the SC/GA border arm just above I-85. It's fairly reachable from that whole arm so it's about the only game in town for some folks, they serve up 90 octane boat fuel and have a pretty big boat dock for it, along with a covered customer dock where you can walk to access the restaurant, Catfish Johnny's (not open year round - call ahead on offseason months. 2015 set to open May 15th) , and the ships store. They also have boat storage and do some maintenance work. I have not rented equipment here although I buy accessories here, and they have my correct oil and they have a small amount of general supplies, cleaning supplies, floats, etc. It's worth a stop if you are looking for something for your boat - they also have a bin of Schwann's ice cream novelties for those hot days. read more

Everything about Harbor Light Marina is wonderful! I reserved a 3 tube pontoon for a Saturday half day and it was going to be terrible weather that day and they allowed me to move my reservation to Friday and were flexible on the time (it isn't peak time so it was doable) The customer service is fantastic and the boat was beautiful! They provided great instructions and a map. They even allowed our dog on the boat. I would definitely recommend them. Hands down the best part of our lake vacation. read more

Once again, a great Memorial day boating trip on Lake Hartwell thanks to Harbor Light Marina. I've rented a deck boat for the day from these guys probably around 6 or 7 times now. They're easy to deal with, the boats are fun, and I think the prices are reasonable. During the summer it's $349 plus gas for the day. We use it for tubing and knee boarding. The kids love it,. Some tips: Ask for ski vests. They're free but if you get busted by the rangers without them, you'll get a hefty fine. Radios don't work, so bring your own boom box. If you are staying at Tugelo, it's very quick by water and easy to find the park once you you're on the lake, but bring a park map so you can find your particular camp site easily. read more

We rented a 22' pontoon the Sunday of Labor Day. What a difference rental experience this was for us (versus the Lake Jocasse). The supervisor checked us in, went over the rental details, advised us of a dent on the propeller that they knew about. Parking was plentiful and close to the dock, which is a big help when you have difficulty walking. The crew down at the dock were extremely helpful. They had a hut on the dock that was staffed, and we were approached several times, offering their assistance. There was no stress involved, nor a mile hike (like our Lake Jocassee experience). Water was lovely, lots of coves to drop an anchor in, etc. Highly recommend this location. read more

These folks were GREAT - down to earth, super friendly, extremely helpful, and most understanding. They graciously worked with me and my military family of 5 to find the best discount for us - 20%! - as well as massaging the timeline that we could rent a boat. In the end we were 30mins late getting back to the marina due to poor estimation on my part for the time/distance to return and it was no big deal to them - at least they didn't seem to care. We felt bad for being late, they made us feel good for the fun we had experienced. I would recommend this marina's services to anyone traveling to the Lake Hartwell area. read more

What would you do if you reserved a pontoon boat to go on Lake for Solar Eclipse Business Party.......booked in June - paid in June and find out that they lost your reservation and now have no boat for you? I closed my business for the day, turned away orders for that day....and had 6 others going out...purchased t-shirts, binoculars, glasses to celebrate and Harbor Light Marina just says sorry!!!!! Reservations at dog kennel for dogs!!!! Michael at Harbor Light Marina says if you had checked yesterday, he could have fixed their problem because they had a cancellation......and he gave it to someone on the waiting list.............I suggested he phone them and say "Sorry" because they only planned for 24 hrs.....with a boat. But Michael said he couldn't do that because she was on waiting list for a month.......... WOW!! They had my money and reservation for over 2 months!! I am so pissed off and sad that we don't have a boat now....... What would you do?? Ruined my 2 months of planning and preparing for a day on the Lake. Harbor Light Marina gets a big "woo-hoooo" from me! They are awesome! We live near Charlotte and drove the 3+ hrs. to get there. So worth it! When I called to reserve a pontoon for 1/2 day, the gentleman on the phone was friendly and helpful and even informed me that if i made the reservation online it would save me some money - I think 10% - (but that he'd "be glad to help me over the phone"). I made the reservation online and saved the $$. We brought along a brand new tube - still in the box - and they were nice enough to inflate it for us. After all the required lists were checked off, we were finally leaving the dock. We got to play for a bit underneath overcast skies and then the heavens opened up. I received a phone call from Michael at the marina asking if we were okay. We were due back at the marina by 1:00 and he wanted us to know that it was okay with him if we didn't want to ride in the rain and to feel free to bring the pontoon back in by 3:00. We had shut the motor off and anchored near an island for a picnic. When it was time to go, the boat wouldn't start. I called Michael and told him and he immediately sent someone out to rescue us. It didn't take too long before we were up and running. Michael told us to feel free to keep the boat out longer and to bring it back by 5:00 since the break-down cut into our playtime. Time wouldn't allow for us to stay and play so Michael waived the gas fee and gave me his business card and told me to contact him personally the next time we wanted to rent a boat and he'd make it right. Great way to do business! Everyone was very friendly and so helpful. From the young man who blew up the tube, to the young lady who went over everything on the boat to the mechanic to Michael. Keep up the good work, you're doing it all right! I will highly recommend Harbor Light Marina to anyone wanting to spend some time on the lake. read more
