0 stars should be an option. This facility is 100% incompetent and dishonest. I brought my boat in March for a preseason service. Upon completion I take the boat out and the engine has a massive leak. I take it back to them to find the source of the leak and they claim unable to recreate. I go back again and drive the boat with a mechanic and all of a sudden the leak magically reappears. They diagnose it and say there's now a crack in the engine block. They said they will order a new engine in April and will notify me when it's ready. The entire summer goes by with saying the engine is enroute but no time frame for completion. I'm August I go back in to find out the engine was never ordered. Nobody can show paper work for diagnosing the crack, or any work ever being done. Completely despicable. Do not use this facility for anything. read more

I recently rented a boat with Lake Keowee Marina for three days. The boat barely worked and in fact broke down on the first day after only 2 hours of use in the middle of the lake near dusk as I was with my teenage daughter. They would not replace the boat with a comparable one and still charged me for the full three days rental! This is a very dishonest company in the way it conducts itself. Please know there are many other places to rent boats from other than Lake Keowee Marina. Save yourself a lot of grief and money and DO NOT rent from them!! read more

BEWARE! RIP OFF! Told me they would do a full diagnosis of my boat to find out what the problem was and if there was anything else wrong, they would let me know. at $125.00 per hour. After a week they called me and told me my boat was fixed and it was ONLY missing a plug. So I paid to get it out but now the bill was $260.00,not $125.00. When I launched it, It started up for under a minute and shut off. They said it's not their problem. They then gave me the option of paying for more diagnostics, at my expense of $125.00 an hour. The invoice paperwork does not show any diagnostics that were done to begin with, only labor, and when I questioned them about it, they said they did not do a full diagnostic. So they bait and switched and flat out lied. That wasn't what we were told when we put it in there. Joe, service manager, can talk a snake out of a paper bag, very good at manipulating conversation, lied to us when we questioned him about the full diagnostic, sheister. They CHARGED US 260.00 FOR FIXING NOTHING, AND THE BOAT STILL DOES NOT WORK. THIS IS A MONEY GRABBING DISHONEST MARINA. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

This guy will spend sooo much time helping you, is so attentive, nothing is an inconvenience to him and he makes you feel like the only person on the property. Rented a boat here and the gas guage was not working. They tried to charge us $85 for gas for a couple hours rental upon return. Since the gas guage was not working we had no clue what was in the boat when we left. Apparently not FULL. We forgot our two yeti's on the boat and went back for them and they disappeared and were not turned in. Very dishonest company. read more

I took my boat in for service work and winterization. I got my boat back with a divet out of the side of my fiber glass boat, the glass was fractured under my boat anchor, oil was everywhere, my bilge pump no longer worked. When I asked Bart, the owner, to resolve the issue he told me he was not responsible. I learned that kids do the service work supervised by an adult. My new boat was in shambles. Well it started at the January boat show in Greenville. We found the pontoon that was pretty much what we were looking for at the right price. It was all downhill after that. The day before we went to complete the paperwork for the purchase we got a call from the salesman telling us we weren't paying enough for the boat. We just happened to take a picture of the sign with the price in front of the boat while we were at the boat show. He then admitted he had another buyer interested. (And he was probably planning on charging them more). We were told that when we came to pick up the boat that they would go over everything including the outboard motor. When we were ready to pick it up I called Keowee Marina on Monday, spoke to the salesman and told him we would be picking up the boat on Saturday. He assured us it would be ready. It was not. No one knew we were coming so it took well over an hour for them to get all the life jackets, ropes and bumpers together, handed my husband the keys and told us to enjoy. We've owned boats before but this is the first outboard we've had in over 20 years. Someone was supposed to go over the motor with us and that never happened. Then we had to take the boat in for the motors 20 hour service. I specifically told them when we would be coming to pick up the boat after the service and I asked them to leave it somewhere accessible because I didn't know what time we were going to get there and they might be closed by the time we got there. They said no problem. They had a crammed it in the middle of a bunch of other pontoons sitting at a bank and we didn't have a prayer of picking that boat up. This was yet another screw up so I called and talked to the salesman and all he could say to me was " well you know we were voted the best marina in the upstate by Greenville news." After about the third time of hearing that I told him he couldn't prove that by me. While it was in for the motor service we ask him to look at one of the seats because that was a warranty issue and the horn was pathetic. They said they fixed the horn and we have to order the seat and that was in May. They said it could take up to two months to get that seat. So the end of September we started calling looking for the seat and they kept saying they would call us back they were checking on it. We never got a callback. After the third call I finally called the manufacturer and they informed me that they would have the seat ready to ship the next day and a new horn. A week later they called us to tell us the seat was in. My husband took the boat back over there and they said they said it would probably be a day or two and they will call us. A week later I called them and asked him if it was ready and the service man said "I think so." Told him my husband would be there to pick it up on Saturday when he got there everything that he had stowed under the seat was out the Bimini top wasn't even hooked up right and stuff was everywhere inside the boat. My husband put everything away and went looking for somebody in charge and there was no one to be found. My advice to anyone thinking about buying a boat from Lake Keoway marina....DON'T read more
