Well, where do I start?... I honestly had a great day. I came here to South Carolina from Florida with some friends to visit a buddy of ours that recently moved to this area. We decided to rent a boat from the Clemson Marina. The pontoon boat we got was great, it was nice and comfortable and clean and we had a great time all day just navigating around and what not.
Honestly we all had a great time. The service was good. The people who work here are polite and all. I would have given this place a 5 star, but something came up that we didn't like and thought was unfair.
We were charged an extra $45 for a buoy that came off our pontoon boat. All 4 of the buoy's looked like they were tightly tied onto the pontoon boat and we never even touched them or gave any attention to them. Turns out they were tied to a metal clip that easily comes off.
Part of the reason it seemed shady was that the people whom work there even told us that "the employee" should have told us that those clips easily and often come off.
However, even after admitting that they should have told us about it, they still charged us an extra $45 to replace the buoy. In my opinion, It was a bit shady how that particular situation went down. It almost just seemed like an easy way for them as business to make extra money and our group just didn't not appreciate that.
Besides that, the service was good and I would still recommend people to come here. I'm just warning and also recommending you guys to keep an eye out on the buoys and maybe even clip them off while your out so that you don't loose them (incase they forget to let you guys know that they so easily come off)
Renting a boat for $300 plus gas is already an investment and so it would be to just keep those buoys in the boat (incase they forget to tell you the clip off easily) and not pay for extra expenses. read more
