Austin's team was there to help me pull my financials, to identify which credit bureau hadn't released our credit freeze, knew about FAIR homeowners insurance, and helped get the correct format of the account wire histories required by the underwriter. We had a short 10-day contingency window for our escrow, to improve the odds that our offer would be accepted. We were willing to do it without a loan, but it would have been bad financially. My financial advisor was pushing hard for me to get a loan with a large lender, so I applied with them too. But they didn't care about my 10-day window. They didn't tell me about my credit freeze, probably because they hadn't run my credit yet. Turnaround for answering my emailed questions about early payoff and ARM timeline was two days. They must have bigger deals to attend to than a homeowner loan. Go with a local person who cares.

While I wasn't there to do any financial transactions, I was able to see my new advisor, Anthony Rossi. I don't want to set the wrong expectation that you can walk-in and see your advisor, but he had a few a few minutes to chat. He was charming, and made himself accessible so that I could fill him in on a brief transaction that was in process. He listened, and assured me that he would get back to me as well as monitor it for any issues along the way. As far as wealth management, and customer success, you knocked it out of the park. I wanted to open a brokerage account and was told to do it online, no biggie, however the only portal would not let me open a new account. Pretty much got brushed off like they didn't want my business. Called Charles Schwab and opened an account over the phone with the local branch in 5 minutes. Customer services sucks these days, but this was beyond bad.

I'm very disappointed with Mercer's performance - Spent at…read moreleast 6 hours going over my accounts, monthly cash requirements and end of year distributions. Everything we discussed was ignored and the accounts were 99% invested - leaving no cash to pay bills, nor distribute to make matters worse their timing was just plain lousy buying everything all at once, near the top of the market. When I called about overinvestment, Michael Johns simply said he didn't remember that part of the conversation - but they would sell some of the positions so I could pay my bills. When I moved the cash to the account I needed it in - they sold more in the other account so the cash would be there - no communication nothing. And the account they sold in was the wrong account - clearly my situation was too complicated for Mercer to keep straight. When I decided to de link from them - they liquidated every position they hd set up - again no communication - they just liquidated everything again no communication preceded the liquidation. And of course they sold everything near the bottom of the market locking a 70K loss. And right at the end of the year - who knows what damage they've done to my taxes. If you're a buy and hold kind of investor - these guys are probably fine - but if you have any stock market knowledge and can recognize trend shifts - or multiple accounts serving different purposes - I strongly recommend avoiding Mercer Advisors.
