Although not as large as a Home Depot / Lowe's chain stores they carry a large assortment of items that are needed to fix most household items. And being the big stores are 20+ miles away, this makes Builder's a very nice close-by alternative, even if some of the prices are slightly higher. I have purchased many items here and am glad to have them close to me.

I am a veteran myself so it was an honor and a privilege to support another vet. I was going to get as much as I could there for my current project. I am putting copper grounding rods in the ground for sensitive electronic equipment. I needed the clamps where I could connect copper wire to the clamps and a bit more. I had several smaller hardware needs, and 4 bags of water softener salt to pick up as well. The guy behind the counter greeted me well and asked what I was looking for and pointed me to the end of isle 12. I looked and looked and while he chatted with a couple other customers, I couldn't find what I needed, even after walking most of the store. But he was pretty busy chatting with customers, so I gave up and walked out of the store without buying a thing. I went in there although I was out of my normal area of shopping and considered it an opportunity to support the veteran! Too bad it didn't work out. Oh, and the music was unbelievably loud. I don't recall objecting to the type of music, but you had to raise your voice to talk over the sound level.

They carry selections of electrical, plumbing, hardware, paint and lumber. Prices are ok for convenience in the small town of Edinburgh. I find the staff helpful and friendly. Garden supply is limited but adequate including wheel barrows and yard tools. There is also a selection of trendy gear such as Yeti. They even carry a modular garage. They also rent larger equipment like trench diggers. The free popcorn is at the back of the store!

They do everything from keys (including "digital chip" key clones) to vast amounts of nuts and bolts, SAE and metric, tools, supplies, home/industrial hardware. They are not Grainger or Lee's. They are not Lowes or Menards. Their prices are sometimes high, but they don't sell cheap gear. I wished they'd sell lumber and plants, but maybe it's better that they don't. They get five stars for being the best HARDWARE store in the area. You don't have to buy a huge blister pack to get just one or two of an item. Their clerks know what they have, and it's a good idea to ask them. They sometimes have better alternatives in mind, and their selection is vast for the size store they operate; they can save you a lot of time, unlike the big box stores, where there are no real specialists except the Big Item sales people. Otherwise, it's a hardware store with a smattering of lawn and garden items and home decor accessories.
