Today I visited Ace in Miami, OK, to have my #100 propane tank refilled. I know I still had about…read more10 gallons of propane in the tank, but according to the store manager the store policy is they charge for the size of tank not by how many gallons it takes to refill. In my case today, I had the tank refilled at another location and only needed 11 gallons. If I had refilled the tank at Ace Hardware in Miami, I would have paid for the remaining 10 or so gallons in the tank...which I already owned. I believe this policy is not right. The tank is able to be topped off and I should only pay for that amount. I have been a Ace customer for several years, but based on my experience today, I will not shop at Ace Hardware again.

Yes, it's a hardware store, so if you need some nuts and bolts and whatnot, they have that. But they ALSO have a really cool candy store AND a really neat Harry Potter area, AND a Wild West area, and a really great selection of cute gifts etc. We left with zero hardware, but several Christmas gifts, a big box of Red Hots and some delicious peanut brittle. I'm visiting here from out of state to help my daughter with her four adopted children. I needed a sheet of birch plywood cut in two sizes, just two cuts. I was told no special cut. The sheet of ply was about $45. So, respectively, I thanked the man and drove 45 minutes to the nearest Home Depot in Owasso. I paid $65 for a sandable ply, not what I needed, but they cut it for free. With the other materials I bought, my total was $238.00. Would rather have purchased at Pryor Lumber, 7 miles from the family. But customer service at times costs a premium. Still see Pryor Lumber as an option, but may arrange for material runs differently in the near future.
